Good news: The Obama economy is trending worse than the Depression, may cause ‘social unrest’

Here’s the trend line:

About 6.2 million Americans, 45.1 percent of all unemployed workers in this country, have been jobless for more than six months – a higher percentage than during the Great Depression.

The bigger the gap on someone’s resume, the more questions employers have.

“(Employers) think: ‘Oh, well, there must be something really wrong with them because they haven’t gotten a job in 6 months, a year, 2 years.’ But that’s not necessarily the case,” said Marjorie Gardner-Cruse with the Hollywood Worksource Center.

It could be because employers, in the face of ObamaCare’s uncertainty and the overall gloomy economic picture thanks to extreme debt and the coming wave of extreme taxation to pay for it all, aren’t hiring.

Here’s Democrat and Clinton crony James Carville on the “unrest”:

“It is going to be very difficult,” Carville said. “But the country, if that is what we are doing, this is gruesome on people. This unemployment rate for this long is humanitarian crisis of the first magnitude. …

“You know, look – this is a humanitarian — you know, you’re smart enough to see this,” Carville said. “People, you know, if it continues, we’re going to start to see civil unrest in this country. I hate to [say] that, but I think it’s imminently possible.”

I wonder — is that a mere prediction, or a threat?

    ahhh, the lefties trump card

get enough civil unrest (real or imagined; i imagine a bunch of overweight beer bellies protruding from the brand new red t-shirt just given to them by the person paying their per diem) and they can get the back door to despotism

I now accept the worsening of the economy. It hurts me, but I hope it will hurt Obama and his toadies too. Let us all suffer more together.

Carville is a Louisiana boy, and his state has had more than its share of hits recently. I know he wants aid, bad, and I don’t blame him. However…

This “threat” is more like a liberal’s wet dream. Not only does it give the liberals those special shivers to imagine the conservative revolt (like a zombie invasion, but better), but it also gives rise to the ever popular option of marshal law.

This would put everything under gov’t control until things got better. Like with the GM bailout, or the stimulus. And, wait for it…DAXYPOO, you got it right. Patriot act? You ain’t seen nothing yet. Just watch them drool.

The social unrest is much more likely to come from the left, righty’s go galt.
Be that as it may the economy isn’t going to get better. The Keynesian’s have really done it this time.

Re: “I wonder — is that a mere prediction, or a threat?”

He’s a Democrat. Thus, it’s a mere prediction. If a Republican said the same thing, it’d be a vicious threat.

If we don’t get what we want there might be violence…
Sounds like the ‘other’ group trying to force policy by threatening violence.
The left and the ‘Religion of Peace’(TM), the unholy alliance.

So, Skeletor, are you going to blame Obama for this, or just make ominous predictions? I bet you are planning on blaming companies for not hiring. That IS Obama’s line, isn’t it? “Businesses need to step up to the plate.”

This is the next narrative. Business is intentionally sabotaging Obama’s efforts to turn the economy around. I suspect it won’t fly with anyone but their choir.

just a couple of days ago i saw an interview of bill ayers crazy wife and she was saying the same thing. so, yeah, i think it is a threat or they are attempting to blame employers or/and this civil unrest that they are trying to incite is not directed to or about the unworking middle class its actually to pit the unworking welfare class v.s the unworking middle class… this is a mess and these people really scare me…

I’ve seen Carville interviews since the oil leak and I think he is not a big fan of this administration. Though I don’t like him as a Democrat, I don’t think he is a stinking socialist who wants to bury the country. I think he is just on the other side of the aisle. His wife, Mary Matalin, wpuld kick his butt out of the house if he was really a stinking anarchist.
When he says, their may be unrest….well, look at gun sales over the last three years. Do you think all of these people are arming themselves because they are hunters. They have an innate understanding that if things go badly , defending their home and family may become crucial. Do you remember all of those store owners in LA who sat in front of their stores with guns during the LA riots? And that was because Rodney King got beat up!

You people want to see America fail. Racist pigs. Haha this was on Don Imus show. What an idiot!

I’m here to say it’s not just lefties predicting it. When the food riots start, or people are pushed up against the wall, you best not be living in gated communities, nor driving your Mercedes around. It will be time to look poor, very poor, so that your wealth is not redistributed by the mob.

Think it can’t happen here? OK by me. The unarmed limosine liberals will be easy to take down…armed Tea Party types, not so much.

What’s with all this liberal nonsense about Obama on this site. Obama’s policies mirror Bush’s on all major economic and foreign policy matters. Real taxes have not been lower in 60 years as the government piles on debt while giving tax cuts to the wealthy (this is the opposite of socialist economic policy). Bush passed a fiscal stimulus bill in 2007/2008 and slashed interest rates (Obama’s policy as well). The federal reserve continues Bush/Republican’s policy of low interest rates to save Wall St (think the carry trade and commodity speculation with low interest money payed for with US Treasury debt) and we are now fighting 3 wars in the middle east as opposed to 2 (to deal with what should have been a policing matter). The defense budget alone is $800 billion a year (hardly indicative of a liberal government). We have a military presence in 100+ countries (more imperialist than liberal). On the major issues of the day, economics and foreign policy, Obama is no liberal. The transfer of wealth from the taxpayer to Wall Street and the intergenerational wealth transfer from future generations to the wealthy (via failure to address the federal budget deficit) is not a liberal/socialist policy.

The truth is the economy never came out a recession (which went into a recession because of the failure of the government under Bush/Clinton to regulate Wall Street/banks and when faced with a recession in 2003, Bush/Greenspan over-cooked the economy with low interest rates). I believe the country is in very bad shape and if it slips further, then I think there is distinct possibility of serious social unrest. To believe otherwise is pure denial. I have no dog in the democrat v republican fight as they are essentially the same and a review of their policies in office reflects that fact.
