As Allah notes, The One didn’t bring up Osama himself. He doesn’t need to, not when his fanboys will shout it out from the rooftops for him every chance they get. Obama was giving his usual stump speech at his soiree in Austin, going through the “we’ve made so much progress” stuff, riffing on his hopeychangey themes and generally being his one-note self, when some yayhoo shouts “Thank you for getting bin Laden!” As if Obama himself was riding in that stealth Blackhawk clutching an automatic rifle, grenades strapped to his chest, fast roping down into the compound to look the old terrorist right into the eye before putting a bullet in it. The most that can be said is that Obama made the same decision that Bush made at least twice — to send in a commando team to get bin Laden — but that it finally happened on Obama’s watch. That’s the most that can be said of him. And there’s scuttlebutt that he wasn’t all that decisive in making the call, unless you’re cool with giving bin Laden a possible 16 hour window to escape while Brackets thought it over. Gutsycall.com? More like callthathappenedseveraltimesbeforeitfinallyworked.com. Granted, the latter isn’t likely to catch on.
Here’s the cut from Obama’s speech.
So anyway, back to Austin, where Obama gave the second partisan speech of the day while ignoring the wildfires raging in another part of the state. Had Bush visited a state in the midst of a crisis and then gone out of his way to avoid visiting those in need or at least surveying the area, we would still be hearing about it today. Spike Lee would have made two movies about it. Kanye West would have cut an album with the Black Eyed Peas doing backup, and Barbra Streisand would misspell every word about it on her blog. Michael Moore would’ve eaten someone.
Obama did that today. This president came to Texas, gave two very partisan speeches, neglected a disaster zone, and left with bags of cash. And the Democrats who hosted him and gave him a pile of money? They’re fine with it, apparently. Hopefully most Texans aren’t, and will remember how the state’s Democrats consistently put politics ahead of the needs of their own state.

Spike is good at two things: campainging and voting present.
There is something truly fishy about the event in Pakistan. The burial at sea, the secret photos, the secret cache of OBLintelligence, the secret group who did the raid, the cooperation or noncooperation of this corrupt, failed state where anything goes. So many evasive ingredients and so easy to spin whatever story and a media that mostly accepts the White House spin. And now the president uses the killing of a marginalized, old man to cover up his own failures. It´s sickening to me. But it was probably the point of the whole operation, to be used in his campaign. When the dust is settling I hope American voters will see through the smoke and mirrors.
Really?
From the most transparent administration ever?

Well stated.
As to: American voters will see through the smoke and mirrors..
Rather biased here, didn’t vote for Obama and have no plans to vote for this person, in 2012. If our Republicans do not present a viable candidate, I’ll write my own name on the ballot.
Worst. President. Ever.
Muslims are pretty upset with 0bama for killing Osama. We shouldn’t offend them by re-electing 0bama. That would just be spiking the ball.
What utter nonsense! Democrats put politics ahead of the state’s needs? Really? Republican have run Texas for ever and you have one of the worst education systems in the country and now we are hearing that the State’s Finances are nothing to brag about. Republicans have been bragging about the success of their budget efforts and now it appears it was all BS! BS is the one thing Texans are experts on!
Spoken like a shill for Rick Perry. How many billions in debt is Texas under his watch? If you’re upset about no federal money for wildfire relief, think again. Texas has received millions. Just no declared disaster because while the wildfires have been bad, they don’t compare to the tornado outbreak in the South where lives are damaged. And Obama is not Rick Perry’s butt boy. Rick’s been talking secession and disrespecting the federal government at every opportunity and now he wants federal money? Look no further than the emergency issues Perry told the Texas Legislature to focus on – sanctuary cities, voter ID, sonograms required for anyone who wants an abortion. Being $28 billion in debt is not an emergency; these nanny bills are emergencies. Please.
You know what was a disaster zone? New York City on September 11, 2001. You know who was President that day? The guy who, while vacationing in beautiful Crawford, received a memo on August 6, 2001, entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Attack Within United States,” and did not do a single thing to prevent the attack!
It is easy for conservative Texans to diminish the capture of Bin Laden, when they inflicted the country with two terms of President Bush. Even in the post-capture cache of evidence of future attacks, there was nary a mention of attacks on large cities in Texas, such as Dallas, Houston, or Austin. Actually, it is not just Texans, but conservatives living in rural America who love talking about terrorism, patriotism, yadda yadda yadda, yet are never on the hook for any of the costs. Look at a map. What targets are there in flyover country?
Accordingly, Obama should spike the football, the way the Giants did before they made Terrell Owens cry in the playoffs (although I admit- the Boys still have a 5-3 edge in Super Bowls on this unrelated note).
