I so enjoy the detours you take from politics-as-usual here, from “palette cleansers” like this one to thought provoking upside down maps. They really help keep the Tatler fresh.
BTW, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had reason to invoke the description of “mode changes” you once served up over at JOM!
I dearly wish I had any idea what you’re talking about with mode changers. I’m discovering, frighteningly, that I’ve now written so much stuff I can go back and read something I wrote, and barely recognize it.
It’s a pretty safe bet that I’m the one who misstated the term! In fact, I think it was actually “mode shift,” which came up in a discussion about the available options if you’re a night person trying to shift back into daylight mode. My usual method, for instance, is to stay up the necessary extra hours and then crash at a more traditional time.
The eggs are a’boilin’ and the air compressor is at the ready. Heh! Probably should dial down the pressure to 20 lbs or so to start. I would hate to shoot one of those eggs into the neighbors yard.

Thanks, JMH.

Aha! yeah, that’s changing modes the hard way. Changing modes the easy way is to go to bed and sleep an extra 12 hours.
This was much more easily done when I was 25….

But if you do, I’ll post the video.
