Legal Insurrection reports Milwaukee County has finally completed its official canvass and Prosser picked up even more votes:
The results have just been posted in the Milwaukee County canvass, and nothing much changed from yesterday. AP reports Prosser picked up 11 more votes and is the winner.
I repeat, JoAnne Kloppenburg lost. David Prosser won.The vote margin stands at 7316, a virtually insurmountable lead for a recount. All the hanging chads in the world will not put Kloppenburg on the Supreme Court.
Sure makes fools of pundits like E.J. Dionne as James Taranto reminds us today.

Isn’t it? I believe any demand for a recount will have to be filed within 3 days from today.
As IowaHawk says: “This is what democracy looks like.”
And all the sturm und drang from the lefties in this “purple” state got them absolutely nothing.
Gotta love it. Perhaps Wisconsin isn’t as purple as was once thought.
Prosser’s margin of 7,316 is just barely under the 1/2 of one percent (7,486) of the total vote cast. Should Kloppenburg demand it, or be pushed into it by one of the Democrat soreheads so abundant in WI, a recount would be paid for by the taxpayers of Wisconsin.
So the national unions and their war mighty war chests have the option to flood all the County polls with loud advocates for overturning every one of those 7,316 votes. It would be a desperate gamble, but the prize is huge. Republicans would be well advised to prepare a legion of sharp poll-watchers, able to man their stations 24/7.
Of course, that’s possible, but as check off vanishes, sooner or later the union members are going to demand accountability for the money being pissed away by their leaders on these go nowhere political stunts.
It’s over. There will be no more recounts. At some point, the optics just become too ugly.
The great thing is, the Dems pulled out all the stops to defeat Prosser. They were truly mobilized. And still they lost. This was the very best they could do. This was as good as it gets for them these days. 2012 is gonna be a slaughter.
