At a Seattle public school, Easter Eggs have apparently been banished and replaced with Spring Spheres. Although this will help students to enjoy the very educational Music of the Spheres, I wonder how schools can get away with disguising harmful high cholesterol eggs as something else. Sure, these weren’t real eggs – just plastic things filled with also disgustingly fattening jellybeans – but the principle remains the same. It’s deceptive packaging and the FDA should get on the case. The Spring Spheres would almost certainly be banned at the enlightened Little Village Academy on Chicago’s West Side, but so in all likelihood would homemade deviled eggs spheres.
Could these things be related to the Easter Bunny, er Killer Rabbit, attack on Former President Carter?
Shades of Christmas Winter Solstice Past! Oh, and have a very non PC Happy Easter.

“Shades of Christmas…Winter Solstice Past! ”
Don’t you mean Mithras?
Every time I think we have reached our PC limit, some new steps up an proves me wrong – again.
Sphere is really the best alternative they could find? None of them thought to be scientifically correct and call it a SPRING CHICKEN EMBRYO?
See name.
I guess replacing items high in cholesterol (not a really huge problem for kids)for items filled with high sugar content candy with no real nutritional value and further promoting child diabetics (a growing problem in America)is this year’s slogan for Seattle ISD! Seattle ISD: We like ‘em tubby and on meds. HAPPY EASTER!… it’s still called Easter right?
This is awesome! I’m all for taking Easter back to its pagan roots of spears and the slaves working in the fields processing our sugar cane…
Seriously, who cares? Easter, Spring Equinox, Jesus zombie whatever. Can’t we all just enjoy the changing of the season and embrace change, death, and renewal?
Spring hollowed ellipsoid would be the more accurate term
You miss the point entirely. It’s not about cholestrol or fattening jelly beans. It’s an attack on Christianity. The idea of Easter however it has been altered by Constintine’s combination of pagan and Christian, the basic idea is still Christ has risen. Without that, there is no basis for Christianity. How well do you think it would go if they renamed Eid, a Muslim holiday. Channukkah? Think about it. This is just wrong.
This never happened. Please read my blog. But if that’s too much trouble research. This was made up by a16 year old girl who has recanted her story. Have you guys ever heard of substantiating before going nuts? Have you heard of propaganda? If it were true yes it would be absurd. Unfortunately people are willing to believ anything they read that fits into their own agenda.
Please learn to think for yourselves. Do you know how foolish you look?
Kelly: Couldn’t include a few links in your blog post? Where was the original article and where specifically is the bit about a 16 year old making it up?
