Government Motors falls apart…literally
In an article from the WSJ, it looks like Obama’s latest invention, the Chevy Cruze, is falling apart on drivers while they “Cruze” on down the road. In a very scary development, the steering wheel on certain cars has fallen off while the car was in motion. GM has stated this affects about 2100 cars, and a recall has been issued.
The Cruze is doing better than the car it was meant to replace, the Chevy Cobalt, but not as well as the Toyota Corolla – its main rival. However, I don’t know if this is because more people trust the Toyota brand (even with their issues in recent years) or buyers are unwilling to give their money to GM. What we do know is having the steering wheel fall off the car created by Obama and Government Motors is the most perfect analogy for this administration ever.

What can you expect from an Obamacar.
exactly
the statist cronies of gm and their witch hunts against toyota— which were all frivolous btw– cant keep obama motors from making cars not unlike those that used to putt putt around east berlin back in the day
This isn’t a problem. It’s just what happens when the country is run by Bushhitler for 8 years.
We should thank our lucky stars that only 2100 steering columns have fallen off. Just imagine how many would have fallen off if the boy king hadn’t arrived to save our country and Gubamint Motors.
And besides, if the UAW just had better pension and health benefits, or shorter workdays and more breaks, and longer lunches closer to the beer joints, nothing like this would have ever happened. Just look at Toyota. Their problems are much much worse. You can look it up in the NY Times and other papers of record.

How about that New York Times, hey? It’s one of the auxiliary legions of the Democrat Party in general, and of the Obama administration in particular. And who better than the NYT to help trump up an urban legend about Toyota accelerators sticking, just when GM (owned by the UAW and the Obama admin) needed a competitive boost in car sales against Toyota? It ran a pretty effective negative ad campaign, and much of the public thought those accelerators really stuck.
It only took a year for the investigative reports to appear with the truth: driver error all around.
But did the NYT ever run corrections on all those stories and editorials? Nah. And who cares about a conflict of interest when the gummint is simultaneousley competitor and judge, jury and executioner in its own show trial of said competitor?
Ah, the Cobalt. I remember checking it out back in ’07 when my 15 year old Subie bit the pavement. I also recall how the brand new Cobalt was basically outclassed in every regard by a then 3 year old Civic on the same lot (which I went with in the end).
And falling apart on the road? I recall my mom’s then brand new ’72 Pontiac LeMans dropping the entire tranny while in motion! Some things never change, apparently.
GMs have been doing this for decades. They normally rattle themselves to death. I’m just surprised that this happened so quickly. Normally it takes about 5 years for the mystery noises to start.
I was really expecting good things from Obama Motors. Especially after the lovely, overpriced Chevy Volt. What a success that was. Good stuff.
When I first heard this, it was such an apt analogy for this president and his administration, all I could picture was a Looney Tunes car flying full speed down a twisty road, heading for a cliff, when ZING! the steering wheel pops off into the driver’s hands…
In the real world, if this happened to you or me, we’d be toast. However, all Obaminions are able to defy the laws of gravity and physics (as well as the laws of state), so they can steer the car to safety using the power of hope, change and mind control.
Did Gubmint Motors perchance have the foresight to issue a disclaimer along with the faulty Crash, er, Cruze? You know: Do not try this at home, all stunts performed by trained cartoon professionals.
Steering while?
Charlie,
Is this how you’re gonna play me, Charlie?
The spelling error has been pointed out, and I have asked for it to be corrected.

Charlie,
The spelling error has been corrected. If you need me, I’ll be going through all of your posts with a magnifying glass and spell check.

“Government Motors Chevy CRASH!”.
GDI, y’all have created a meme that deserves to be spread far and wide.
Subotai Bahadur
Not unexpected or unexpectable. After all, Gubmint Motors has thrown its entire technological and manufacturing expertise into the new Chevy VOLKwagon, the chariot of the people (priced equivalent to a ticket to a Democrat Part fundraiser, beyond the means of all but nabobs, nitwits, and those with vast but obscure horizons.
