yeah, that buffoon and bumbling fool, ronald reagan, was sure out there with the star wars program
i mean, why would anyone want to make an enemies weaponry obsolete?
fools
Yeah, left/liberals would’ve have to cower before and appease our enemies… they wouldn’t know what to do with themselves then.
The mid-1800s made obsolete any short-range unguided projectile threat to the US, when you stopped being at war with Mexico.
It’s doable.
The powers that be just decided, a long time ago, that it wasn’t cost effective.
It’s not worth it to them to spend a whole lot of money on defensive systems. Might have to cut back on the trips to Rio and whatnot. IOW, they essentially see us as real expendable…same as it ever was.
It’s a matter of integrating the proper high volume software entities with the right hardware platform. It literally wasn’t doable back in the ’80′s because small, fast computers were not really available. Now that they are, it’s no surprise that the systems can be made to work. The old Olbermann “it’s like hitting a bullet…with a bullet!!!” schtick doesn’t work if one of the bullets can recalculate it’s trajectory a hundred times a second, and then change course.
A little perspective may be in order. The kind of rockets that come out of Gaza are basically one rung up the ladder from a spear being thrown at you. Nobody, Reagan included, has ever proposed building a missile shield to protect the US from Canada/Mexico firing these at your border.
