Now on tour in Madison: Rage For the Union Machine

I thought the union protests in Wisconsin had jumped it when Jesse Jackson showed up last week, but I was wrong. The randy Reverend was just the warm-up act for Tom Morello, of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave.  He’s in town now and on the mic.

Tom Morello, the Grammy Award–winning guitarist best known for his work with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, tells National Review Online that he is ready to tangle with the Tea Party as Gov. Scott Walker (R., Wis.) battles the public-sector unions.

Video at the link. Morello was commie chic before it was chic. He has long been an advocate for freeing convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. He has called Arizona’s immigration law “soft-core apartheid.” Morello is, in other words, exactly the sort of face the Madison protests really need: A hard edged communist with a pile of money from his capitalist endeavors, who just doesn’t think the unions have quite enough power over everyone else’s wallet.

My only question now is, how long will Lady Gaga make us wait before weighing in on Wisconsin?
