So say the folks at Climate Progress, who see global warming, climate change, what have you, as the unseen hand behind everything, everywhere. In the case of Egypt and Tunisia, they see “extreme weather” pushing food prices higher, leading to the riots. But hey, if they’re right, it’s one more reason to drop ethanol subsidies, no?
When your favored hypothesis can be used to explain everything–including events that entirely contradict each other–you’re not doing science any more, you’re doing religion.
Did Climate Progress happen to blame Ms. Pelosi for stopping the water heading to central California so the farmers can farm and produce food for the world. Probably Not!
Limited resources are rationed to the most cost efficient crops yields with less water use and less evaporation loss over open channel distance. It economics that should rule honest decision making.
Action on Climate has more up side than down.
The road to GFC recovery is green jobs, and it many benefits help energy security, national security, pollution reduction, environment and sustainability of limited resources.
Now is the time to stop acting like fear mongering necons, threatening our children with DEATH BY CO2, and drop the CO2 to start stewardship of the planet anew and face the future challenges with optimism and courage, not needless panic of a “dying planet”.
In his State of the Union Address, President Obama, the leader of the free world, didn’t mention the words Climate Change or EPA once. So why are the thousands of consensus scientists not marching in protest?
For the last 25 years of warnings, the UN’s consenting climatologists have all agreed that the scale of global warming from CO2 was to range from “negligible” to “unstoppable“.
Nowhere in the UN’s science does it say more bad weather would be caused by something other than Nature. The disco science you read from the mainscream media condemned our children to a death by CO2. That’s right, leave it to the lazy copy and paste news editors and criminal journalists and politicians promising to lower the seas with taxes and profiting PR firms and profiting corporations and profiting special interest groups skimming fear and lab coat consultants creating an industry of climate change research that was too big to fail quickly. Climate change has done to journalism, science and well intentioned progressivism, what nasty priests did for religion. Academia and all of progressivism and journalism stood back and watched as scientists produced cruise missiles, cancer causing chemicals, land mine technology, nuclear weapons, germ warfare, cluster bombs, strip mining technology, Y2K, Y2Kyoto, deep sea drilling technology and now climate change. And how ironic is it that up until 25 years ago, scientists were condemned for producing planet killing chemicals and making environmentalism necessary in the first place?
Continued support of the climate change mistake is hurting everyone and the planet as it splits environmental efforts, alienates support for responsible environmental stewardship and drags well intentioned progressivism down with it.
