Huh? So you’re saying you (and presumably McCain) know where he lives? It invites a response from the McCain campaign. “Okay let us know the GPS of the cave and we’ll go in after him together.”
My theory: this is a direct echo of John Kerry’s failed line in 2004 that he knew where in Tora Bora bin Laden could have been caught. I have a feeling it was probably Kerry’s “contribution” to the speech and Obama trying to take him seriously.
But I guess this is an attempt to blame another for an Obama error. He’s not perfect, but he’s far, far better than any nominee my party has offered since JFK, though JFK was far from perfect, I know. Maybe he’s the best since FDR.
If he’s the best since FDR, the Demographic party is in deep, deep doo doo. Hey, here’s a thought. If Obama wins, the government should round up every registered Republican and conservative and put them in internment camps– just like FDR did. After all, this nation is at war, with reactionary bible thumpin’ gun toters.
I think we should send Sarah Palin to catch him. In the persons of Obama and Palin, we now have the most essential, and underused, element in Presidential politics: sex appeal. Over the last century, only TR, FDR, JFK, Reagan and Clinton, victors all, have had it. The Obama set (at Mile High) looked like something out of Scientology. Still hard to sat where the man begins and the manipulation ends: the myth awaits. By any rights he should win, and the biggest reason for the Palin choice is McCain’s weakness in the state tracking polls in Western state, where he is trailing in Colorado and New Mexico. For those who remember 1959, we now have Alaska and Hawaii represented at the top of the tickets! Perhaps the candidates should conduct the rest of the campaign ONLY in those two states!
It seems the real strategy here is to find someone so remote and so unknowable that they can be elected before we can learn who they are. Obama is the cool guy at the bar who can pick up any woman because he knows exactly how to shape his story to what she wants. Having heard what she wants to hear, she asks nothing more.

As one who abjures political parties, I couldn’t care less who is the best since, etc. But I am completely flummoxed by your Obama idolatry. What single new even vaguely original idea has he offered during his campaign or the other night? Name one. (Nobody else has either – it’s hypnosis…. pathetic.)
My old boss Gary Hart just hosted a panel of Obama’s foreign policy advisers on CSPAN, a desultory bunch. Unironically, Hart introduced Susan Rice as “the better Dr. Rice”. Say what you will about Condi, she grew up in segregated Birmingham and was friends with one of the four little girls crucified in the church bombing there. Also, wasn’t it another Rice, i.e. Donna, who brought down Hart? Tony Lake acted like a wet fish, Greg Craig bloviated, and two members of the panel, now top Obama advisers, were Africa experts on Clinton’s NSC, who did such a bangup job on Rwanda. Madeleine Albright drooled in the audience. The hubris of this crowd, which Barack wants to bring back wholesale, is the equivalent of Cheney: they are never gonna ackowledge the weak approach to terrorism that led to 9/11. Obama is not about change; he is about bringing back the Warren Christopher crowd. A gun nut sexpot from the wilderness and her aging consort are a helluva risky alternative: they are Pecos Bill, Annie Oakley, and Rin Tin Tin rolled into one. Against them is Johnny Mathis/Malcolm X and his white male handlers. I am a lifelong New Yorker and a longtime Democratic activist, hence I distrust Chicago. Seeing a Daley at the mike during the DNCon roll call was kind of nauseating. Fans of Carl Oglesby’s “Yankee and Cowboy War” may recognize the paradigm: the corrupt East versus the rapacious West. What looks like change is just more of the same: the Chicago machine plus Dupont/Rockefeller Delaware versus Howard Hughes and Noah “Chinatown” Cross, with Faye Dunaway playing Sarah Palin

Honesty? Loyalty? Courage? Humility? Dependability? Which virtue does he possess which causes such worship ?

What about the chap from MO? Other than HST and FDR most any candidate for dog catcher compares favorably to any of the Democrat Party’s candidates since HST. Comparing BHO to the likes of the others isn’t saying much for BHO.
It was fascinating watching the Kroft interview on “60 Minutes”. Biden fawned over Barack like Eddie Haskell, while Barack’s gaze showed how much he detests Joe, who muct have been forced on him Chicago style. Obama let the mask slip one, when he said to Steve Kroft, “What question would that be, Steve?” with he prick of tghe shiv (reminiscent of “You’re likeable enough, Hillary”. Obama’s complexity is well concealed: he is Iago, Mack the Knife, Sugar Ray, Julius Nyerere and Don Ho, with a dose of Jean Toomer

I give Obama credit for probably the greatest Democratic reality distortion field since William Jennings Bryan, but that’s about it.
I am always curious with these people who call BHO an empty suit and so forth, what is that his supports see that you see through? The great changes in his views over time? His complete inability to follow-through? How he flies of the handle? The feckless way in which he picks his fights? The legion of former co-workers and supporters who now despise him? The lack of depth and detail in his planning?
Meanwhile, Ron, as far as I can make out, Biden continues to appeal to Repubs.
Obama is re-running Kerry’s campaign. Has the same thin-skinned, touchy personality, can’t laugh anything off, self-absorbed.
