Climategate: Obama backs cap-and-trade as UK cites climate criminals
One of the many eye-rolling moments during Tuesday’s SOTU was when Obama momentarily acknowledged that some of us might be skeptical about anthropogenic global warming, but then barreled on in his support of cap-and-trade legislation. There were ripples of disbelief, a mild response under the circumstances. Perhaps POTUS was ignorant of the fact (one always wonders where he gets his information) that the Timesonline is now reporting that the University of East Anglia CRU (center of almost all climate data used by the UN IPCC in its global warming findings) had broken the law in hiding information:
The university at the centre of the climate change row over stolen e-mails broke the law by refusing to hand over its raw data for public scrutiny.
The University of East Anglia breached the Freedom of Information Act by refusing to comply with requests for data concerning claims by its scientists that man-made emissions were causing global warming.
The Information Commissioner’s Office decided that UEA failed in its duties under the Act but said that it could not prosecute those involved because the complaint was made too late, The Times has learnt. The ICO is now seeking to change the law to allow prosecutions if a complaint is made more than six months after a breach.
Of course cap-and-trade relies on this hugely corrupted, possibly even one hundred percent incorrect and now missing data that was hidden by these scalawags. People have already been making fortunes on “Carbon Exchanges” based upon this despicable behavior and are poised to make billions more via so-called carbon credits. Critics have compared these to papal indulgences but they are far worse because they have tremendous economic and social implications in the midst of a fragile economy. (It is also a complete desecration of science.)
Yet Obama continues to back cap-and-trade. Some Republicans like to call it cap-and-tax. Too old fashioned. Taxation is the least of it. This is gangsterism. Massive international fraud is being perpetrated. Perhaps capo de capo would be more like it, making Obama the capo de capi. Or is that George Soros? Look for more on this on PJ Media in days to come.

You suggested Obama may move to the right to save his presidency as Clinton did. It looks like he may not.
“Yet Obama continues to back cap-and-trade.”
Obama and his buddies have too much invested in the myth. It is difficult to face reality when the global warming scam has been so rewarding. Also, big money contributors like Jeffrey Immelt would be enraged if Obama abandoned them. The CEO of General Electric will probably soon lose his job. He bet the farm Obama was going to direct a lot of money towards that corporation’s bottom line.
It’s never been about “climate” change or not — for Obama and his abettors. It’s always been — he’s all about — government control of as much as possible — in any way he or they can get it.
Green Jobs and a 5 year (ruinous Soviet style?)plan for exports, indeed! Since when does our “government” make this kind of economic pronouncement? It’s an insult to everything this country is and has ever been.
Regarding the SOTU or any speech O gives or has given —
His plan is ALWAYS about what to SAY that will get him influence.
It has NOTHING to do with what he intends or doesn’t intend to do.
We might call it lies — He has no such judgment about his own words. Truth of his words and itentions have no meaning for him — none. He doesn’t care about the “people” — he doesn’t care about “jobs” — He cares only about the effectiveness of the words for his own purposes — of amassing power.
Last night was not a SOTU — it was the inauguration of his new campaign. Today he’s personally hosting an event for the “new high speed train” from Tampa to Orlando — part of his “jobs” program. That it was scheduled for the day after the SOTU, and didn’t start last year, was clearly planned to effect November elections.
We’ll see lots more of this — and, no doubt, it will influence voters.
What might turn them off is his attitude. He repeated, in that phoney impatient parent tone — that he has to make the “hard” decisions that might make him “unpopular.” In other words, the stupid electorate doesn’t know what’s good for them — only he does — and he’ll force whatever he wants to on them — “for their own good.”
Neverthless, Tea Partiers and Conservatives ought to start making big plans — because he and his gang are going to fight intensely and real dirty until November.

I think that Cap and Trade is proof that many AGWers do not actually believe there is a problem. If we could be sure that carbon were really the problem and that limiting would really be a solution, then a carbon tax would be most efficient and other taxes could be reduced as compensation. If one wants a reduction in something, then tax it. If the AGWers were to be for real, they would willingly suggest other tax reductions to offset a carbon tax, and they would be willing to make such a compromise, because saving the planet would trump collectivist fantasies. That won’t happen. Cap and trade is simply a money making proposition that can be sold to folks with guilty consciences and a lot of money they will part with to ease their consciences.
Cap and trade Europe has lost 7.4 billion”>has all kinds of issues.
I understand it was Enron that came up with this scheme, rent-seeking at its’ finest
Cap and trade will allow politically connected insiders to make billions of dollars running the scam. That’s why he’s for it. I’m sure he wants in on the action after he leaves office.
An acquaintance (Dr. Bob Balling), a prominent (or notorious) climate skeptic and researcher, approached Enron years ago to see if they wanted a scientist who would help them against the Global Warmists. He was rebuffed – they told him they planned to make money trading carbon credits.

The Telegraph is all over this story as you know…and they’re starting to follow the money in Britain. I’d contact Booker and the Telegraph for leads and share information with them, too. This is too big for one guy.
