A brouhaha is developing from Rick Kline’s report at The Note this evening indicating that Nancy Pelosi may have lied (gag me with a spoon!) about her ignorance of enhanced interrogation techniques, aka waterboarding, being used on Abu Zubaida in 2002. A commenter on Rick’s site suggested we might waterboard Pelosi to get the truth.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure it would work. Pelosi, from all her public statements, is clearly a blithering idiot and as close to unqualified for major office as anyone I can think of in my lifetime (and that’s saying a lot). Politics is obviously not a high IQ profession, but this woman makes Dan Quayle seem like DaVinci.
Therefore, her presence at a meeting at which enhanced interrogation techniques (EIT) were discussed is not an indication that she understood what was going on or even was paying any serious attention. In her case, waterboarding is not to be recommended. She just wouldn’t have any information.
Also, she might prune up. Just kidding.
Indeed. And according to recent reports, Botox and waterboarding are contra-indicated.
I think Reid is probably another dummy. But oddly enough, I have the impression that Murtha is pretty smart. I couldn’t say *why* I have that impression, but I do.

Until she does something that is grossly against the perceived interests of her district, or the morals of her district, Nancy Pelosi will be able to win elections by sending a cabbage to campaign for her. Unfortunately, her district thinks that running the USA Leftward off a cliff is in their interests, and the only things that seem to offend their morals are virtue.
Maybe the best thing to do is to maneuver her into some vote that the Right agrees with, then publicize it. Her replacement wouldn’t be any less Left, but he/she/it would lack seniority.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held two hush hush meetings with CIA Director Leon Panetta and Democratic members of the Intelligence Committee last week.
“Her fear and frustration have apparently given way to panic after word reached her of the CIA’s reaction to the damage she, President Obama and other Democrats have done to the spy agency in the last three months, wrote Jed Babbin, a former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense, in Human Events May 1. “Pelosi learned that her actions and those of President Obama have so damaged CIA morale that the agency’s ability to function could be in danger.”
can’t we just waterboard her just for the pure entertainment value?

She is the one who opposed union legislation a few years ago because it would impact the nonunion fish processing plant her husband owns in Samoa or Guam (I forget). She and Boxer and Feinstein show what rich husbands do to get their wives out of the house. Feinstein has been feeding contracts to her husband’s businesses but the other two are worthless.

She comes from the D’Alesandro family of Baltimore. Among other things, her father was in the House and was Mayor of Baltimore. Her brother also served as mayor. She grew up with political connections. She would have known how to get on the right side of civil rights and feminism issues and probably knew the power brokers dating back to the 60s and 70s With those creds and a safe left seat in CA, it’s just a matter of hanging around long enough.
Pelosi got caught, lying. Obviously so. It is ironic, that it was the CIA who outed her this time.
Roger, this is fun. But Pelosi’s kind of boring and obvious for somebody to kick around. How about Al Gore? You haven’t done him in a long time. He’s always good for easy outrage. Please, tomorrow?

I have to admit that watching the SF Chronicle try their best to dodge this story all day has been really fun. They ran it on the chron site all the way down at the bottom of the national news, then they put another story on their webpage SFGate.com. Then when a whole bunch of negative comments about Nance appeared they disabled comments and had a “technical glitch” that prevented comments being posted on any story. Fun to watch, especially since a real newspaper (Washington Post) ran the story.
The SF Chronicle? I can’t even find any news in the Chron about its own mass layoff yesterday and $50 million loss! It made Nancy and Obama — at least it lived to see that, I suppose…

Unfortunately, with our corrupt media (see the SF Chronical..ly Deceitful reference above) playing the Tonton Macoutes role in torturing, then eliminating, all traces of the truth…she is more likely to become Speaker for Life than she is to have any real damage done to her political career.

I looked up the family and from all I could find she really has had no other political or educational training past hischool and living under the shadow of her father and family ties in conversation. Back in her childhood years during the 40′s & 50′s a good Italian daughter would more than likly look forward to college with family connectios such as hers, but I only found that she got married, came to California & had 5 children.
She became a social party giver and soon the San Francico Italians begain to put her into the Political Dynasty her male family had built up in the Baltimore area. This may explain her rise but she has no excuse for ignorence in the political arena. Most social political women & men party givers are
just that and have the ability to vassilate back & forth using lies as a mechanism to achieve goals for popularity. This is a very dangerous game to be played in any political or big business field. She will even destroy her political confidantes if not removed by them from her position as speaker, they need to follow suit of the Pres. and remove her as he just did of someone that has made him look bad.
