After one look at this webcam, who would want to play an outdoor game of hoops in Beijing? And the Redeem Team, which has been looking so good, stumbled and almost fell yesterday against Australia. Let’s hope there’s no embarrassment.

I have only three little words
WOMEN’S BEACH VOLLEYBALL
“After one look at this webcam, who would want to play an outdoor game of hoops in Beijing?”
That’s for sure. I’ve been thinking (and saying) for months that these Olympics are going to be a big disaster for China, for any number of reasons.
Someone please tell me how they turn out; I don’t plan on watching. I start coughing just thinking about the air quality.

One of David Stern’s legacies will be how the NBA ceased to be the gold standard in international competition under his watch.
Hopefully the impending disaster of the olympic games will reveal the IOC as the petty sniveling little economy-wrecking dictators that they’ve always been. Everybody has a feel-good moment at Jesse Owen’s accomplishments, ignoring how the IOC quislings gave Hitler an international forum for coughing up the requisite tribute to the golden calf of amateur athletics. I’m sure Sozhenitsyn would’ve had a few choice words for this kitschy abomination, assuming he would’ve considered it worthy of his attention.
All the news out of Peking is not good. Just this a.m. I heard about the US team arriving and wearing masks when departing airplane. Heard about an arrest when some banners were hung. Seems to me this doesn’t bode well for the IOC which is just fine with me. With the games not even underway, I hope that one of the Chinese building projects included more jails, because at this rate they’re going to need the space.
