It has been generally agreed that Obama knows how to talk the talk – at least when no one is asking him any questions – and his people are evidently very aware of it. Jenny Backus, who is working on convention preparations for Denver, spoke with the Rocky Mountain News:
On that other Obama convention speech, in 2004, that introduced him to the nation:
“No one more than Barack Obama understands how important it is to deliver a convention speech well,” Backus said. “He wouldn’t be where he is if he didn’t know how to deliver convention speeches.”
No kidding.

When I see Obama talk, I can’t help but think of every infomercial I’ve ever seen; the guy is like the Ron Popeil of politics.
But to be honest, I’d vote for Popeil before I’d vote for Obama. At least Ron is selling an actual product; Obama is selling the classic vaporware–himself.
“Set it and forget it,” indeed.

Obama’s citizen security force gives me the creeps, it makes me think of “Brown Shirts and commissars”. We could end up with both.
Hopefully ol’ Jenny will do the same great job for Obambi that she did for Kerry.
I would pay to see him one on one with Brit Hume for an hour. Hell, I’d pay to see him one on one with the guys from http://www.powerlineblog.com for an hour.
Oh, I am sure that BO has plans to orate the roof off the convention center. Barack will tell his posse, “If you think 2004 was good, just wait.”
Kerry prided himself as great orator and BO knows it’s one of his talents. And he will attempt to exploit it.
The Dems are first up. This gives McCain an opportunity to respond in kind, but in an unconventional manner.
Oviously, BO will flourish on about changiness and all things having to do with hope. I sincerely think the Invesco Field soiree will be a moment of emotion reminiscent of Hitler’s shoutings.
Since McCain will never be able to deliver on the level of Obama, he must find a way to communicate his message in an extremely simple manner. So simple, that it mocks Obama’s pomp and BS. This is a time for a genius, old-school, Madison Ave type to devise a way for McCain to communicate his platform in the most lean way possible…Just The Facts Ma’am.
If he wants, he has the message. It just needs to be brilliantly simple.
I’m sure this has been said before but have any of you folks ever read one of those early Moses Wine mysteries. Because if you haven’t maybe you should and you might discover a Jewish version of Barack Obama right down to the friendship with bomb throwing radicals. You see there is hope for us all that like Michael Savage and Roger L. Simon we may start out as evil as Barack Obama but with a little time and middle age spread we can see the light and join the millions of our brothers and sisters in the church that Dick Cheney and George Bush built.
