It will be interesting to see if Christopher Ward’s possible theft of “as much as one million dollars” from the coffers of the National Republican Congressional Committee gets anywhere near the buzz that Spitzer’s recent hijinks did. [Not unless he was using it to pay for hookers.-ed. We don't know yet.] I’m beginning to have the tiniest bit of sympathy for all these politicians being caught at various levels of hanky-panky. Reason: I can’t imagine anything worse than being a politician. [Is that enough of an excuse?-ed. No... but it's something.]
Following the Money – First Spitzer, now Ward

It won’t get anything like the coverage of the Spitzer fiasco, if for no other reason than Ward isn’t the governor of the state that’s the center of the universe (or so those of us in the sticks keep getting told).
It certainly doesn’t make his activity any less criminal, and I hope he pays dearly for his transgressions.
Why should it? This is like the bookkeeper of the local auto dealership being arrested for embezzlement.
Too bad for them. They should hire better employees and supervise them a little more closely.
As far as I know, Ward is an employee, not a holder of elected office.
