I had to use that hed, since no one else had.

Apparently La Clintona has promised no more negative campaigning. This after the Political Nudnik of the Year award has gone hands down to her “big-shot New Hampshire supporter Billy Shaheen,” who played the “drug use card” yesterday to slime Obama. (Evidently Hillary has apologized.) I would have slimed him with the “banality & cliché card,” but no matter. All’s well that ends well, as the Bard says.

But speaking of Obama, why don’t we get it over with and just put Oprah herself on the ballot? I mean she’s got a lot more experience in front of the public than the candidate and her business acumen (and back account) is right up there with Romney’s. Besides, no one would have to worry about solving the writers’ strike. As president and number one afternoon talk show hostess, television would be “All Oprah All the Time.” Good-bye, Big Brother. Hello, Big Sister!

In fact, why bother with elections at all? Oprah for Queen!

  1. Evidently Hillary has apologized.

She said she’s sorry. Really, she’s only sorry it backfired.

Watching her campaign fall apart like an overstressed airplane is fun!

    Don’t speak too soon.

    They are coming.

Hillary Clinton’s people are scared that Barack Obama will soon leave them behind in the dust. This desperate ploy may encourage a number of voters to ask: “What else don’t we know about Obama?” His past drug use, however, should not bother people anymore than George W. Bush’s troubles with alcohol.

This is simply a last gasp chance for Hillary to save her campaign. And no, it will not likely work. She has never been the same since Elliot Spitzer’s foolishness concerning driver licenses for illegal aliens. I think her goose is cooked.

The goose isn’t cooked, but she (or her campaign) are showing that either she’s incredibly brittle, the campaign is incredibly undisciplined, or both.

Whatever, bad bad news for someone running on competence. She can turn it around, but only if the brittleness thing isn’t the real problem.

    can Obama save these people?

  7. In ’92 Clinton did not have a Democratic opponent with the particular type of appeal that Obama has nor had the country lived through 8 years of a Clinton White House. From a PR standpoint, if Obama’s past drug use is all they got, well that ain’t much.

That said, if the co-presidents could slip out of the noose in ’92 concerning Bill’s womanizing (an even touchier subject 15 years ago), don’t count out the folks who gave us “the war room” just yet.
