I was able to obtain a copy of of the suppressed PBS documentary “Islam vs. Islamism” and have reviewed it for Pajamas.
Banned in Boston – PBS disgraces itself

Thank you for the review of the film. I signed the petition, and I went to the PBS web site and sent an email to their ombudsman. By an interesting coincidence (or perhaps it is not coincidental) on PBS’ home page they were promoting a series called “Secret Files of the Inquisition”. While it may be in danger of becoming an over used phrase, the first thing that went through my mind was “you can’t make this stuff up.”
Is it possible for something already as disgraceful as PBS to disgrace itself?
The best outcome would be for PBS to stick to its guns and the show get shown on capable and video. Then the uproar will cause more people to watch it, and PBS will have an appearance that matches its reality. You don’t want the illusion of PBS doing the right thing, same as with the UN, as it buys them time.
Ugh, “shown on cable”.
Obviously, if your insight is correct, what PBS objects to is that the documentary is successful. Successful at what? Take for example that some Muslim (legal) immigrants will tell you that their parents emigrated to The U.S. to escape the extreme form of Islam that was not checked, indeed encouraged, by the autocracy of their country of origin. Encouraged by the autocracy as a way to channel discontent for and failure of their corrupt regime(s), this channeling process enlists the hybrid form of Islam and Marxism and repeatedly blames either the Democratic states of Israel, The U.S., Europe, the west in general, or any other Christian or “infidel” manefestation.
What really roils me is that we paid for this documentary, as well as all the other fine programing on PBS. Without being consulted on this act of censorship.
Censorship, by definition, is when the government forbids the exercise of free expression and forces on us instead, its own propaganda.
Hello Dixie Chicks. the Dixie Chicks testified before a Special Senate Whoop-de-doo (Soviet) Committee that they were “victims” of censorship. The inference, false and misleading as it is, is that the government controls speech, and the content of radio and tv. The truth is that radio abd tv stations are not owned by the government, but privately owned private property. that live and die by how successful they are in the marketplace of, in the case of this doc, ideas.
But try telling that to the ombudsmen of PBS, or the self appointed ombudsmen of the Senate, Schumer, McCain, and the other practitioners of the belief system of peace
I am surprised that there are few comments on this particular thread. Yes, the breach is obvious, but it is accompanied by little or no apparent outrage or opposition.
This is government at its worst. Censorship is applied because of the multi-culti view of the world at PBS.
This is a betrayal of the public trust, a waste of taxpayer funds, a violation of the First Amendment and a reason sufficient by itself to either shutter or privatize PBS.
By the way Roger, I did sign the petition. How many signatures have been collected?
I agree with the sentiments expressed here, but, in the long run it makes little difference. PBS has a small audience, disproportionately liberal. They ignore most of the information about jihad, Qtub, al Banna, the Brotherhood, etc.
We are in bad trouble and only the next catastophe will bring us partly out of it.
time is not on our side.
TedM: “PBS has a small audience, disproportionately liberal.”
Which is exactly why they’re suppressing this documentary, mustn’t upset the audience, especially since some of them are in denial, and would go ballistic over anything that challenges their illusions. That’s why Liberman got driven out out the Democratic party in Connecticut, he refused to pander to their illusion and could no longer be tolerated, even though he’s a Liberal in good standing.
But this documentary has the greatest value for the still sane, the swing voters and the “moderates”, who, too sadly, don’t pay attention between campaign seasons. And anybody else, to help counteract the MSM propaganda. The bigger distribution of this show, the better. PBS was never a big enough venue.
