Consider this to be a manual trackback. I have commented on this story at my blog
It’s one thing for rioting to go on in les suburbs arabe; it’s quite another when it impacts le centre ville. If I know the French, at a certain point their response will be vicious/merciless.
Reminds me of the classic George Carlin bit.
“Today a 28 year old ghetto youth shot and killed
an 18 year old suburban man.”
Oh, I get it. The French employ the Reverse (Psychology? Something?) strategy for the
Riots and euphemisms return to Paris.
And just in time for the elections, too! What a coincidence.
It’s nuts. I blogged on it early this AM. Only Reuters (believe it or not) even hinted that there might be some people from North Africa involved. “A Reuters correspondent on the scene said the youths, many black or of apparently immigrant origin, threw plastic bottles, flowerpots and cans at the police, while frustrated rush hour commuters, unable to catch their trains, also milled around.” Which means “figure it out your own self, gringo.”
