One of my personal heroes is dead. What can you say about Fallaci except that she was a human being of tremendous courage? She was also an extraordinarily beautiful woman and a great writer. To say that she will be missed is a vast understatement. She was crucial to our times and leaves a void. Her death makes me cry as if I had lost a family member.
An obit by Michael Ledeen, who knew her, will appear on Pajamas later today.

Really hated to hear that she died of the cancer she had. Just finished the “Rage and Pride” last week, a small book by a tiny woman who carried bullet holes in her hide. It has a warning that had better not be ignored by our civilization concerning the Moslems and their Jihadist march from the 7th Century. Oriana Fallaci, R.I.P.

In addition to a personal tragedy it’s a shame she won’t be around to comment on the Pope’s recent remarks and the Muslim temper tantrum that has proceeded it. It would’ve been right down her alley.
I’m glad her suffering has ended. But losing her increases ours.

We are down one hero.
Sound the pipes. Michael Kelly, Thomas Paine, and other such brave Writers for Freedom step forth to greet her. The very Signers await her. For one such as this, I think, even battle-hardened regiments will stand. Rick Rescorla is there. The Marathon is run again, and the news is borne of another genuine freedom fighter, Oriana, going to her reward and honor.
