Its a diplomatic circle-jerk among the bankrupt and the backward. Putin wants to be a spoiler and jerk the Americans but the inflexible ayatollahs won’t let him. Absolutely not. But then again, maybe… Meanwhile,W completes a sea change in relations with India.
Putin’s position is particularly, if hideously, amusing. What an opportunity he’s found for Mother Russia. With the hastily poured concrete retaining wall at Chernobyl falling apart and the hot soup–more of it now than when the reactor failed–percolating deeper into the ground and promising to be back in the headlines real soon, the ex kgbnik has managed to come up with a customer for Russian nuclear technology. And right next door, too.
Future Iranian nukes aimed at Leningrad? Not to worry. The Kremlin plans ahead. There are plenty of safeguards. Just like at Chernobyl.

    Roger:

The west is more focused on having talks then results. Iran won’t have to do anything. They will huff and puff and leave the table. Then they will send out signals that maybe they are ready to deal and the West will print another story about how a new propasal is in the works. All the while the Mullah bomb will come closer and closer to reality. And the E.U. knows this is a farce but it makes for good diplomatic cover. Diplomacy no matter what, even if it will never work. Gutless.
