It looks to me that, as predicted, the religious fanatics have won control of Iraq.
Just like the Mullahs in Iran, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani is choosing who runs the new government.
al-Sistani is 76 years old and in poor health. He has no clear successor, and next in line most likely is Muqtada al-Sadr.
Any guesses what Muqtada al-Sadr’s first fatwa will be?
I know what I wish it would be – that monkyboy be banned from this blog. He has lied too many times (did he say he was a Republican?) and wasted Mr. Simon’s bandwidth, which is like low-grade stealing.
