Rice Gets Syrias

October 21, 2005 - 10:32 am - by Roger L Simon

And she should:

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Friday she was deeply troubled by a U.N. report implicating Syria in the death of Lebanon’s former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. She said the international community must find a way to hold Syrian authorities accountable.

Syria, of course, is in denial. Meanwhile the “presumption of innocence” is being preserved, but the investigation continues.

“should” find some way to hold them “accountable”…. LOL…

How long will it take the Security Council to even hear or draft charges?

The UN held a special emergency meeting on a Monday to pass Resolution against Israel when they killed Rantisi the radical (even for Hamas) leader of Hamas. (or was it Yassin the cleric of death?)

Did anyone notice who Baby Assaid ran to -

not surprising it was CNN’s Mrs. Rubin.

    Her EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE interview

was same day as the “assisted suicide”.

One would have thought(perhaps if one did not

moniter CNN on daily basis) that CNN would be

rather disturbed by this – but noooooo.

Mrs. Rubin’s EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE was

replayed for three days. As matter of fact

the coverage of Iraqi got less time over

the referendum than this Mrs. Rubin EXCLUSIVE

    EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE!

Same Mrs. Rubin who felt poor Saddam looked

    frail or weak, poor dear!

Seriously, what’s the UN gonna do? Tell the US to go get him? Hold Israel’s coat while they roll in?

Sometimes our SecState sounds credulous and unstatesmanlike…

There’s already been a fall guy and Syria did “hold him accountable” only they kept slipping up (heh) and saying “assassination” instead of suicide.

Even al Jeezera Calls It Suicide

It’s times like this that it’s better to watch some old Simpson’s re-runs. Or maybe the new porkless ones.

    Richard:

Rice knows that the U.N. will do nothing. At most they will write a scathing resolution that will be watered down and that the Syrians will call a lie and which everyone will ignore.

The butchers of the world know something that the U.N. diehards don’t. Because they know that the U.N. will never go after them militarily(unless the U.S. is involved) and that even economic boycotts will be dropped the moment the first dead baby hits the press they can ignore Kofi and company as long as they can handle some bad press. If they are really smart they will kill off their enemies one or two thousand at a time so they can evade genocide accusations.

In most cases leaders who don’t mind murdering their own people don’t really care whether they are well thought of at west side cocktail parties. They know that Europe will occasionally huff and puff but that in the end they will still do buisness with themAny political prisoner rotting away in prison that is banking on the U.N to save their bacon is in for a long wait. But they can count on a few candlelight vigils and a lovely obituary in the Times.

  7. Syria ain’t in denial! You’re done!
