… playing a constant push-me pull-you game to get attention, making getting real information from the press quite difficult. (That is probably part of the Mullahs’ intention anyway.) Here the Timesonline informs us that the Iranians have begun to enrich uranium again; there the Associated Press informs us that’s not quite true. My guess is that neither is correct and that the Iranians have been enriching uranium all along. But I say that on no authority whatsoever other than common sense. Meanwhile, the game of the charades between the EU3 and Iran goes on. In the middle of it, Mohammed El Baradei, the world’s most ineffectual bureaucrat continues to play a role. As any teenage might say, “What’s up with that?” Good question. Originally the US wanted to get rid of him, then they acquiesced to his presence. Something’s up.

  1. A mystery writer’s antennae are twitching over IranGame? Very Cool! I’ll pop the popcorn!

    Roger:

I thought the same thing. I wonder why the Bushies backed off sending that UN man packing and I wonder what is up in Iran.

I hear that the last election there only made people more angry. Leave it to the Iranians, if your people are pissed that you are too hard line..put a guy in there who is even worse than the last one.

I don’t know what is gong on, but I think there is more to this than we know. As a general rule Bush does what he says he will do, so I have to wonder….

It is hard to believe that the crazy clerics ever truly suspended all enrichment programs. The vaunted european diplomacy class of which John Kerry is so infatuated is getting their collective asses handed to them by the mullahs. Now if we put peanut Carter and El Baradei together, maybe we could make it worse. We could count on bribes and strongly worded letters and the Iranians would be shaking in their birkenstocks.

    John Bolton faster, please.

  4. Based on no expertise whatsoever, I have zero doubt that Iran, like, North Korea, will do or say whatever it has to in order to keep developing its nuclear weapons program. Once you have that ace to play, it becomes orders of magnitude harder for the U.S. to do anything to you. Unfortunately.

It’s always just a matter of playing for time. Every day in which outside authorities do not forceably remove nuclear bombmaking technology is another good day for the mullahs of Iran.
