Omar and Mohammed – two of the three brothers who constitute Iraq the Model – have apparently been getting the US reception they so richly deserve, including a meeting with POTUS (many links here). When they come to the small gathering at my house on Sunday, it’s going to be quite a come down, but I suspect we’ll all have a fine time. I will write my report on here, but unfortunately I’ll be shelving the D-70. The brothers are understandably not anxious to be photographed.
Meanwhile, in their honor, don’t forget to donate to the Spirit of America blogger challenge. One of their more interesting projects is Viral Freedom, an attempt to put Arabic blogging tools in the hands of Iraqis. That’s one way to deal with Al Jazeera.

What wonderful news to hear that Omar and Mohammed have visited the President. I’m certain we owe thanks to Paul Wolfowitz in organizing this historic meeting.
Too bad the President had to hear about Iraq from the non-entities at Iraq The Model, instead of serious people like Rather, Jennings, Fisk, Friedman, Dowd, Matthews, Moore, etc.

On my blog Iraqi Bloggers Central, I include a link to a radio interview with Omar and Mohammed this morning on Brian Lehrer’s WNYC show in New York City.
It’s a good interview, well worth listening to.

I am listening to the radio interview, and the skeptical antiwar comments of the host and callers is just enraging.
That is so exciting, Roger!!
I’ve been an avid reader and admirer of their blog since the very beginning, and told lots of people about it. I’ve even been advertising their blog on my car for about 6 months now, my very first bumper sticker ever!
Please say hello to them from blogaddict. I think their blog, more than anything else, has gotten me through some very dark days in the Iraqi war. They make me think of some of our early patriots such as Patrick Henry and Thomas Paine, and that’s high praise.
These guys have been great from the beginning. Their blog and Zeyad’s have long been my favorites. Please pass along my admiration and thanks.
The word envy (of you) comes to mind also
I’m jealous — though I still hope to get to meet Omar and Mohammed on Monday in Santa Monica.
Glad you’re able to show them the best side of the Hollywood set. I too look forward to meeting them tomorrow in Santa Monica.
