Munch’s famous “The Scream” stolen in Olso. Countless screenplays and novels have been written about stealing the “Mona Lisa.” Maybe that’s why they went for this one first…. Actually the ML was stolen back in 1911. (hat tip: Matthew W. Sheffield)

It was obviously a MacCauley Caulkin fan…
Good thing it wasn’t an SUV – then the press would’ve *really* been put out.
I have never understood the point in doing something like this. You can’t let anyone see it and if you ask for ransom like the Mona Lisa thieves did they will catch you.
Iím a viciously nasty person and Iím going to blame the Kerry campaign. They were very concerned that people might think “The Scream” depicted John Kerry when his lies about being in Cambodia during Christmas 1968 became public knowledge. Yup, thatís got to be it. Where was Chris Lehane during the time of the robbery?
My recollection is that “The Scream” was stolen at least once before as well.
I find it mind-boggling that this museum, from the article, had no security. No alarm bell. Nothing.
Yep, my memory was better than Kerry’s, “The Scream” was stolen in 1994 in a confusing situation that may have been linked to anti-abortion activists.
Fortunately, he painted four examples of The Scream.
Wasn’t John Kerry the original model for The Scream?
Allah has found it. http://www.allahpundit.com/archives/000835.html
You are right about Kerry.
