Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran reports:
Several political and student activists and family members of some of the imprisoned dissidents, such as the maverick Behrooz Javid-Tehrani, were brutalized and arrested, this afternoon, in front and around the UN offices located in NE of the Iranian Capital.
The brutal attack of the regime’s militiamen and plain clothes officers, against the peaceful demonstrators, happened after a formal request for the UN’s immediate intervention for making respect the human rights, in Iran, was remitted to a UN official.
Which side is the UN on?… Oh, never mind.

Roger:
This is a good test for John Kerry’s commitment to democracy and freedom. With the State Department dragging its heals and the NSC reluctant to show its hand on Iran before November, Kerry has the opportunity to come out for the people of Iran. So what have seen so far? Kerry’s plan to contain Iran’s nuclear program consists of “confidence” building measures aimed at “easing the fears of the Mullahs.” His advisors are running around saying we should provide “peaceful” nuclear technology to Iran in exchange for abandoning their nuclear program just like Clinton did for N. Korea. Funny thing is that the EU-3, made up of our non-ally UK and our staunch allies France and Germany, has rejected that approach.
Looks to me like Kerry continues his history of supporting anti-American dictatorships instead of freedom and democracy.
Frankly why should this suprise anyone as the UN looks the otherway yet again. Anyone on the left or right has to realize that the UN has ignored human rights due to its inability to take any firm action. Just look at the record over the past 10 years and here recently. There’s a lot of blood on the hands of the UN. Just look at what’s going on in Africa this very moment. They talk fancy words but fail to act. Prior to the Iraq war I was pretty much sitting on the fence. However, during the inspections when an Iraqi man rushed up to the compound and jumped into a UN truck requesting help the UN team members looked like deer caught in headlights. Iraqi security dragged the man away and to this date I wonder what happened to him. From that point I was and still favor the action we took against Iraq. I realized then and there the the UN was and is a failure as any source of human rights.
Dear Iranian dissident,
Stop demonstrating. Don’t let them know who you are. Islam has brought upon you a form of slavery. Islam is your master. Free yourself from Islam. Find others of like mind and organize. When there are large numbers of you, contact the CIA or American military. Explain your situation. Ask for cell phones and C4 and detonators. Watch the thugs and police. Figure out where to place the bombs to kill them. Proceed as they have before. Bomb them, kill them, then you will be free. Then you can bulldoze the mosques. Then you can enjoy your democracy and never allow that stupid religion to enslave you again.
Happy hunting.
