Why Crony Capitalism isn’t Capitalism
One thing I’ve always admired about the poet Horace is the way he lived up to his injunction to delight as well as instruct. There aren’t too many contemporary writers who manage that feat but one who never fails is the brilliant and extremely funny novelist Andrew Klavan. Drew is probably best known for his thrillers, but he has also recently emerged as a video star on YouTube. His political videos deliver that short, sharp, shock Koko and his friends sang about in the Mikado. They are timely, rapier-like in their wit, and admirably grown-up in their political perspective. You can find an evening’s entertainment and enlightenment worth of videos with a quick search on YouTube. And don’t miss his latest production, “Why Crony Capitalism Isn’t Capitalism.”

so little time left before the election with so many examples of creepy crony

The current clash of Wits:
Over in the right corner of the ring—Andrew Klavan, Andrew Ferguson, Iowahawk, Mark Steyn, Jodie Miller et al.
Over in the left corner: Bill Maher, Michael Moore, and still lesser lights.
I offer no judgment apart from observing that the left corner relies pretty heavily on obscenities to entertain its audiences. This seems to work well with them, especially if they say smut-works really, really loud.
I like the video, but think that Klavan doesn’t go far enough. My impression is that there are international banks and corporations, some of them aligned with Republicans, who also manipulate the government to their benefit. We need more surveillance of lobbyists. We, the people, know that they exists, and we hear of them from time to time, but we know know a great deal about them. Who are? Whom have they influenced? And how?
Great video. I really miss Andrew’s “Klavan on the Culture” video series.
Crony capitalism, in its ultimate form, becomes fascism.
