Alfred E. Neuman in the driver’s seat
The Obama administration has made one little-noticed but deeply significant policy appointment recently: it has installed Alfred E. Neuman at the center of is decision-making process for the Middle East. “But wait,” you may be saying, “I thought his name was Bruce Riedel, late of the CIA, now advisor to Obama and scholar at the Brookings Institution for Triangulation, Appeasement, and Reasons to Blame America First?”
Between us, his name is Bruce Riedel. But just as two things that are equal to a third thing are also equal to each other, so Mr. Riedel is equal in wisdom and general outlook to Mad Magazine’s house philosopher. He has enjoyed superior dentistry, but his motto is the same: “What, me worry?”
Everyone is nervously eyeing Egypt, wondering if strong man Hosni Mubarak will survive or whether he will be toppled by the multitude clamoring for . . . what exactly are they clamoring for? Therein lies the rub. Most responsible commentators, I would argue, worry that although “freedom,” “democracy,” and “self-determination” are on their lips, sharia and theocratic tyranny may well be in their hearts.
Mr. Riedel-Newman is having none of it. In a remarkable piece for the Daily Beast called “Don’t Fear the Muslim Brotherhood,” he assures readers that the Brotherhood has long since renounced violence and may well be the “most reasonable” option for Egypt. To listen to Mr. Riedel-Neuman, you would think that the Muslim Brotherhood was nearly indistinguishable from a Great Society social welfare program: “it has an enormous social-welfare infrastructure that provides cheap education and health care.” It even worked hard, according to Mr. Riedel-Neuman, to assure fair elections in Egypt last time around.
The truth about the Muslim Brother is somewhat — no, it is categorically different. Andrew McCarthy has a tart and illuminating rejoinder at NRO. Entitled “Fear the Muslim Brotherhood,” the essay injects welcome elements of historical context and political reality into the discussion. As Andy shows, Riedel-Neuman’s history “is selective to the point of parody. The Brotherhood did not suddenly become violent (or ‘more violent’) during World War II. It was violent from its origins two decades earlier. This fact — along with Egyptian Islamic society’s deep antipathy toward the West and its attraction to the Nazis’ virulent anti-Semitism — is what gradually beat European powers, especially Britain, into withdrawal.”
Pace the Pollyannas that determine U.S. foreign policy these days, the Muslim Brotherhood is about instituting sharia, i.e., Islamic law, by means of jihad. As Andy correctly notes,
To this day, the Brotherhood’s motto remains, “Allah is our objective, the Prophet is our leader, the Koran is our law, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. Allahu akbar!”
That seems pretty straightforward to me. I admire the candor and forthrightness. The Muslim Brotherhood believes in waging jihad, i.e. holy war, and they embrace death as their highest goal. At least we know where we stand.
Or do we? None of this seems to have penetrated the smiling wunderkinder who staff our foreign policy establishment. “[O]ur see-no-Islamic-evil foreign-policy establishment blathers on about the Brotherhood’s purported renunciation of violence,” Andy writes,
and never you mind that, with or without violence, its commitment is, as Qaradawi puts it, to “conquer America” and “conquer Europe.” It is necessary to whitewash the Ikhwan’s brutal legacy and its tyrannical designs in order to fit it into the experts’ paradigm: history for simpletons.
I sympathize with the folks, here at home and in the Egyptian streets, who abominate Hosni Mubarak. He is, no matter what Joe Biden says, a dictator. But what is the alternative? Something better? Maybe. But prudence argues that we exercise great care in disposing of the czar: the next one might well be worse. “History,” as Andy rightly observes,
is rarely a Manichean contest between good and evil. It’s not a choice between the pro-Western shah and Iranian freedom, but between the shah and Khomeini’s ruthless Islamist revolution. It’s not a choice between the pro-Western Musharraf and Pakistani freedom, but between Musharraf and a tense alliance of kleptocratic socialists and Islamists. Back in the 1940s, it was not a choice between the British-backed monarchy and Egyptian freedom, but between the monarchy and a conglomeration of Nasserite pan-Arab socialists, Soviet Communists, and Brotherhood Islamists. And today, the choice is not between the pro-American Mubarak and Egyptian freedom; it is a question of whether to offer tepid support to a pro-American dictator or encourage swift transition to a different kind of tyranny — one certain to be a lot worse for us, for the West at large, and for our Israeli ally: the Muslim Brotherhood tempered only, if at all, by Mohamed ElBaradei, an anti-American leftist who willfully abetted Iran’s nuclear ambitions while running the International Atomic Energy Agency.
That is the counsel of political wisdom. You don’t hear it echoing the Washington’s corridors of power. So much the worse for us as well as the Egyptians. We have plenty to worry about

It’s Alfred E. NeUman, not Alfred E. NeWman.
Thanks, now fixed.
for the daily double …who is barak h. obama?
geez.. I wish I could fix my mistakes like that.
great article Roger
There’s got to be a joke in here about Alfred E. von Neumann. Something to do with self replicating, uh… no, forget. No way do I wanno go there, it’s too depressing. I want the Obamanation to stop, not continue.
“At least we no where we stand” should be “At least we KnoW where we stand.”

By adopting western paradigms of liberty and democracy, thereby superimposing them on the Muslim/Arab world, the issue becomes muddled and chaotic.
In a nutshell, Arab demonstrators are indeed railing against their leaders, this is abundantly clear. However, their end game in no way matches what we want them to want-a facsimile of western democracy.Wishing and hoping doesn’t make it so.
Poll after poll of the Arab street has clearly revealed their preferences-Islamic law.By overthrowing their secular leaders they are indeed exercising their ‘democratic’ rights, but NOT in any western sense.
El Baradei, the antithesis of Mubarak is very clear when he states, with or without Mubarak’s consent the people will force change through an Intifada. The term is the EXACT same one that every Islamic leader uses to stir up the masses, in fact, the Iranian Hitler is using it to describe events-a blessed Intifada by the grace of Allah.
There may very well be a smattering of their citizens who view democracy more or less as we do, but the majority absolutely do not.Poll after poll after poll supports the above premise.
Hitler wrote in “Mein Kampf” exactly what his plans were and lots of people all over the world, including here and Britain, managed to find a way to ignore it. They learned the hard way.
I wonder what would happen if a career violent criminal, upon release from prison on some pretext, were to suddenly “renounce violence” and then take up residence next door to Riedel. Would he feel at ease about that? The short answer would appear to be “probably” but nobody else with half a brain would.
The descendents of those people voted for Obama. It’s in the genes.
“it has an enormous social-welfare infrastructure that provides cheap education and health care.”
And wasn’t bin Laden famous in some head-up-the-fundament circles for building orphanages? ASK YOURSELVES WHY THEY HATE US! Well, you, I mean, not me….they don’t hate me, they could never hate ME. I’m opposed to violence, after all.
“…along with Egyptian Islamic society’s …its attraction to the Nazis’ virulent anti-Semitism”
“it has an enormous social-welfare infrastructure that provides …health care.”
Prove that the Republicans who wanted to repeal Obamacare were worse than Nazis, no?
If you right wingers were honest, you would admit that Palin’s virulent speeches incited the Egyptians to violence. Our Nobel Peace laureate should invite the Brotherhood and Mubarak to a beer summit, in which the non-dictator and the non-terrorists would intermingle to hear his State of the Middle East sermon.
A beer summit? You culturally ignorant dolt. Don’t you know that members of the Muslim Brotherhood, being devout and pure followers of allah, abstain from any alcohol (except of course the night before one of them becomes a suicide bomber)? The proper and culturally correct thing to do would be to invite them to the White House for some tea and falafel and have Obama apologize for the Crusades.
Of course he can host a beer summit. He just has to serve alcohol-free beer.

Wow. Just wow. The stupid is strong in this one.
ic is being totally sarcastic. I thought it was funny.
Stupid is responding w/o understanding.
No, the comment is unfortunately too much akin to the sort of irrational and unhinged spew we get from the likes of some leftist trolls here at PJM. If you’ve got something better to offer, let’s hear it.
ic–yup, it’s all those tea party folks! Loved your comment. For future reference, to put the little upside-down question mark before your ¿no? hold down the “alt” key and type 168 on your numeric keypad. (The letters above qwertyuiop don’t work.)
I dropped upon the MB article purely by chance through an occasional visit to “Arts and letters daily”. Total piffle, of course!
Here in France the MB is known as the gang of Islamofascists that it has always been. Opinions, however are not optimistic about the likely outcome. One of the leading commentators here, Alexandre Adler, said that there is no civil society in Egypt outside the supporters of Mubarak and the MB, which are the only two organised groups. 90% of Egyptians are functionaly illiterate. Tunisia has, for an Arab country, a quite well educated population. Finding employment for its young people is an enormous problem, not unique to the Arab world!
Suggest reading an article at American Thinker website, ”Why We Should Fear the Moslem Brothers.” by Karin McQuillan in which she describes the historical connexion of the Muslim Brotherhood to the Nazis.
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/01/why_we_should_fear_the_moslim.html
Terry, the link you supplied does not work. “moslem” is misspelled. This works:
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/01/why_we_should_fear_the_moslem.html
Fascinating article, by the way!
Terry, good idea.
Having read Kuntzel’s historical assessment of the ties that bind Nazism and Islamism, the effects of which solidified during Hitler’s Holocaust, one cannot come away NOT understanding the dangers we (and the rest of the west)faces from the Muslim Brotherhood & ALL its offshoots.
The Muslim Mafia, by Gaubatz and Sperry is a must read too.Ditto Infiltration by Sperry.
Those who have delicate hearts or frail constitutions should read these books with caution. Their documentation, sourcing and highly researched materials leaves one both breathless and terrified.
Nevertheless, reading them, then acting accordingly through waking up the slumbering masses, may well be a lifesaver.
As long as we’re talking about Mad Magazine, I was startled to hear back in 2008, during the election campaign, someone I’ve known for decades say that Obama, with his big ears, reminded her of Alfred E. Neuman. For what it’s worth …
Suggest slight change of punctuation, from
“What, me worry?”
to
“What, me? Worry!”
What is needed is a book in the “Dummies” series: Islam for Dummies. Such a book might help the present administration better understand what we are up against.
Here you go:
“Islam for Dummies” by Malcolm Clark
You might also like “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Understanding Islam” by Yahiya Emerick
Islam for Dhimmis may be a more apt title.
Clever, correct and apt beyond sadness.
Hamas is Muslim Brotherhood. Hebzullah is the Moslem Brotherhood. The PLO is the Muslim brotherhood. Al Qaida is the Muslim Brotherhood. Iran is the Muslim Brotherhood.
Think I overstate? Think again.
They are all the same. Different names are used simply to confuse the victims. rRdical Islam has many flavors. Vanilla, chocolate and strawberry is all ice cream isn’t it.
MB is to Hamas what Noraid was to the IRA. Supporting the former lets “progressives” pretend they are behind humanitarian, philanthropic organizations and that their hands are clean.
I believe Mr. Yakov (#11)passed the Mad Magazine senior middle east graduate course with straight A’s.
Mr. Joe Biden who was the administrations foreign policy expert and genius for all times apparently finished just behind Hillary Clinton in the class.
This entire Administration is so embarrassingly ignorant and inept the State Department should be dissolved .
The social welfare meme sounds just like what mosty of the appeasing left said about Hamas and Hezb’allah a few years ago, Khomeini in 1978-79, and the Black Panthers in the mid-1960s.
They are either stupid or they want to see the bad guys win.
They are not stupid.
Just think, if four rows of Iowa corn out of every ten went to making Jack Daniels instead of ethanol, maybe there wouldn’t be any food riots in Egypt–it was a lowly street vendor self immolating that started off the festivities–reminds me of those Buddhist monks in Vietnam during the Camelot era. Of course, the Bernake Fed hasn’t helped, flooding the world with cheap dollars. When there’s no cheap grain to eat at least one can drink cheap whiskey: the cost of whiskey is mostly Federal taxes, the price of which would go down drastically if four times the current whiskey production hit the market rather than a corn fed tiger in every tank. Unfortunately, only a few moderate secular Muslims drink whiskey, usually while out of their countries pedaling oil; mean while the remaining 99 percent are teetotalers, and decidedly non-Jeffersonian democrats.

So we should do everything we can to prop up Mubarak? That worked so well in Iran. We either support democratic principles for all, or we don’t.
I’m not sure there are “democratic principles” in Egypt for us to get behind. From all I have read, the demonstrators are overwhelmingly in favor of Sharia. It appears that the fight for Egypt is between bad guys and worse guys. This is sort of like watching the movie “Enemy at the Gates.” Nazis vs. the Soviets? And we’re supposed to be rooting for who, again?
roger: you say they all have the world freedom on their lips but in their hearts they want sharia? how did you come to this conclusion? are you there? how do read their hearts? I am wondering? I fought the Shah and I and millions of my country men did not have sharia on our mind and wew were not looking for it either. please get real.
M
Riedel states in his article that “Neither complacency nor panic is the right American response.”
Basically we should be aware of the risks, but ultimately we should let the Egyptians decide their own fate.
Is Kimball saying anything different?
The point of the article is Reidel’s misunderstanding of what the Muslim Brotherhood stands for, not about Reidel’s middle of the road recommendation.
I’m not sure that we should be committed totally to Mubarak like some advocate, since I think he has lost the confidence of the Egyptian people, but I do agree that Obama should be more concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood.
While we say we support the Egyptian peoples democratic aspirations, we should also be publically warning the democracy demonstrators in Egypt that if they trade Mubarak for an Islamic theocracy, it will not be an improvement for them, and all aid from us will stop. We should be searching for democratic elements in Egypt that are also opposed to the Muslim Brotherhood, and trying to strengthen their hand. This idea that we can make some kind of deal with radical islamic parties is foolishness.
Here’s all anyone needs to know about our relationship with Egypt. We give them millions of dollars in foreign aid, they gave us Mohammed Atta and dancing in the streets on 9/11.
I think it’s more like $2 billion each year, the majority in weapons going to the military. Which is why right now the military supports Mubarak, and has supported him for the past 30 years.
Our government is capable of redefining Sharia and Jihad to seem innocuous, too.
I’ll bet a pay check every moon god worshiping warrior is hauling camel to help their Muslim Brotherhood take over Egypt.
Anybody see a pattern emerging here??
Three words come to mind……World War Three
The stastictic that caught me was that 70% of Egyptians wanted Sharia Law and 70% wanted democracy. How does that define a bi-polar persuasion? It is splitting the country.
They must of polled upper Egypt first, then lower Egypt.
the muslim brotherhood has an eerie resemblance to ACORN (or ACORN to the muslim brotherhood since the MB is older)
…they have a very big community organizing arm as part of it’s political movement.
percentage of the population they may be small but they are going to run the next government in egpyt unless there is some miricle …and I don’t believe in god ..at least not until the muslim brotherhood knocks on my door. I already have a prayer rug with lots of usage to show my devotion.
Two things are obvious to me. 1- Islam is not a religion. It is a virulent death seeking social disease. and 2. The greatest force in human affairs is the desire to resist and ignore ugly truths. The west is doomed. If you are a christian prepare yourself as I have to kneel before the executioner when you deny Allah.
You are so correct on both points. I would add a third point. The West is constrained (hamstringed) by its morals, its tolerance, and these Moslems are using it very effectively against us. We have no way to construct an intellectual position leading to action to stop them. We are indeed doomed. Intuitively obvious to the most casual observer.
It is soooo SAD to see so many people think we don’t have an ideological front in this war. If only WE believed in our Constitution and refused foreign entanglements unless there were real adherence to OUR FREEDOMs then we wouldn’t be having these discussions. Installing our First Amendment in their governing documents and requiring a SOTU oath to support it every year from their leaders or NO AID or VISAS would cripple the tyrannies and the realpolitik rulers. Freedom would spread. Tyrannies would starve in their sand.
I will be emptying my clips first. OK?
Mr. Kimball’s lack of understanding of Egyptian and Middle Eastern politics is on a par with his lack of understanding of two world wars, their causes and their consequences. I see that I shall have to, once again, come to the rescue with my superior erudition and historical wisdom. Plase read “Khazar Conservatism”, Mr. Kimball, then get Elizabeth Monroe’s 1961 volume, “Britain’s Moment in The Middle East”. That should clear up the confusion for you.
KHAZAR CONSERVATISM
Ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States has been awash in what might be called “Khazar Conservatism”. Khazar Conservatism ardently desires that the United States fight Israel’s wars of Middle East Empire. Accordingly, a Khazar Conservative school of history has been created, which holds that the U.S. and Europe now face a menace called “Islamo-Fascism”, a continuation of the Ottoman Turkish invasions of Europe in the fourteenth through seventeenth centuries. An outstanding example of this Khazar Conservative history is the Zionist blog, “Gates of Vienna” which attempts to paint the present difficulties with Islam as another siege of 1683 threatening the very existence of the west.
Of course, this is all nonsense. Islam as a militant ideology on the march died several centuries ago. Ottoman Turkey was the “sick man of Europe” in World War One days. Its empire collapsed in the post-World War one peace settlements that are the real cause of present day difficulties. Before getting into that subject it is first necessary to examine certain facts of Islamic-Christian warfare that the Khazar Conservatives, such as Pamela Geller and David Horowitz, deliberately ignore. The Jews, during the heyday of Islamic-Christian warfare, were the allies of the Moslems. Moslem Spain, for seven hundred years, used the Jews as finance ministers and tax collectors to exploit the Christian population. Anti-Jewish riots broke out, again and again, as the population rebelled against Jewish-Moslem financial extortion. And indeed, it was the Jews who opened the gates of the cities of Visigothic Spain to the Arab general, Tarik. When the monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella, expelled the Jews in 1492, the Jews fled to Ottoman Turkey, where they became the leading financiers and advisors to the Turkish Sultans. Donna Gracia Mendoza, Joseph Nasi and Solomon Ashkenazi, among others, counseled the Sultans on how to make war on, and take revenge against, the Christian states of Europe. These Jews had many contacts among their brethren still in Europe. They used these contacts to report to the Sultans on Christian military strength, naval dispositions and the like. These Jews believed that “Islamo-Fascism” (whatever that is) was a good thing.
Today, Khazar conservatives like Geller, Horowitz, Bernard Lewis and others, want whites to believe that the Islamic crusade against Europe which these Jews once supported, is a bad thing. The lack of credibility is obvious. The real source of present day tensions, as noted, is the disastrous carving up of the Middle East after World War One. This mistake, plus the planting of a Jewish state in Arab Palestine, is the cause of Islamic resentment against the west. The Khazar Conservatives assert, without proof, that Islam hates the west. Yet when the Arab nationalists began their revolt for independence against the Ottoman Sultan, Abdul Hamid, in the early twentieth century, they looked to the west, specifically the British Empire, for assistance. Many of these young Arab intellectuals were educated at Cambridge and Oxford before returning to their home lands. They brought with them English ideas of constitutional government and liberal democracy. When the revolt against the German allied Ottoman Turks began in 1915, the second year of the Great War, the Sheriff Hussein sought out the assistance of the much admired British Empire. He believed to the end of his life that the English were a great and honorable people whose word was to be trusted. When he found out otherwise, he blamed the betrayal on David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister who was indeed a Zionist agent.
The English military and colonial administration in mandatory Palestine was always opposed to the Balfour declaration which they rightly regarded as a betrayal of the Arabs who had been their battlefield comrades in the Great War. The Arab themselves had several “Arab Offices” in London, where former British soldiers and Palestine officials pleaded their case before the Zionist controlled officials in London and Parliament. Albert Hourani and Izzat Tanous were prominent in these efforts. Englishmen such as the MP, Edward Spears and the journalist, J.M.N. Jeffries, participated in these overtures. An American investigatory commission to Palestine, headed by Charles C. Crane and Henry King of Oberlin College, reported to President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 that the Arabs of Palestine-Syria were overwhelmingly opposed to the creation of a Jewish state in their country. They further opined that a Jewish state could only be created by force and that such a state would permanently inflame the Middle East. Their wise prognostications were ignored.
A further expression of support for the Arabs came from the English press lord, Alfred Harmsworth, Lord Northcliffe. As chief proprietor of the London Times, Northcliffe was planning a series of articles exposing Zionist ambitions in the Holy Land. He was probably kidnapped and murdered by Zionists in Paris, using the excuse of increasing insanity. As these examples show, there never was any inherent conflict between Islam and the west. Many efforts were made for Islamic-European rapprochement, only to be thwarted by Zionist intrigue. That was the problem in Lord Northcliffe’s day; it remains the problem today.
I like the Gates of Vienna blog, but I’m also open-minded. I’m willing to be persuaded by rational arguments. How do you respond to the following points:
1. After the Shah was exiled from Iran, the Muslims butchered a lot of Iranians who liked the West.
2. The fatwa against Salman Rushdie.
3. The murder of Theo van Gogh.
4. Terrorism in India, which is not a supporter of Israel, an imperialist power, or one of the rich countries of the world.
5. Terrorism in Russia.
6. Terrorism in Indonesia. Here’s what the British liberal Nick Cohen said about the bombings in Indonesia in October of 2002: Osbama bin Laden’s explanation was that “Australians died because Australia was an anti-imperialist rather than an imperialist power whose troops had reversed the annexation of (largely Catholic) East Timor by (largely Muslim) Indonesia…. Australia had taken back conquered Islamic land therefore Australians must die.” (“What’s Left?” page 258)
7. Violence between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria.
8. The threats against the cartoonists in Denmark.
None of this violence (or threats of violence) from Muslims seems connected to what happened generally after WWI, much less the creation of Israel. It is all very well to assert that “Islam as a militant ideology on the march died several centuries ago,” but how do you know it died? Maybe it was just slumbering and has now been revived.
There are also many statements about wanting to re-establish the Caliphate, some of them explicitly saying this, and others implying it (such as “the tragedy of al-Andalus”). Plus, there are surveys showing that significant percentages of young Muslims in Britain want shari’a. The fact that there was for a time in the Islamic world a hope for Islamic-European rapprochement doesn’t seem very significant today.
Until you come up with something better, I’m sticking with the Gates of Vienna blog.
John, I’m not impressed by your “superior erudition in historical wisdom”. You missed the point of the article, which is to remind us again of the Muslim Brotherhood’s use of the Koran for continuing their religious war with the West. It has nothing to do with the the Jews and Palestine or the partitions after WW1, although maybe a little about their belief that we are plundering their natural resources. Trying to destroy the Israelis is nothing more than a continuation of the Muslim wars of conquest started in the 7th century AD. It’s their way of saying, “You forced Israel upon us, so the hell with you, now we will destroy them, and then we will destroy you”. That’s the message the Muslim clerics and power brokers are taking to their people in order to keep jihad alive. Stop trying to obfuscate.
Of course, this is all nonsense. Islam as a militant ideology on the march died several centuries ago.
Sayyid Qutb would disagree with you were he still alive. His many followers are all having a good laugh at your expense. So much for your ‘superior erudition.’
Mr. Kimball
“Mr. Riedel-Newman is having none of it. In a remarkable piece for the Daily Beast called “Don’t Fear the Muslim Brotherhood,” he assures readers that the Brotherhood has long since renounced violence and may well be the “most reasonable” option for Egypt.”
Mr. Kimball, Obama is by temperament, conviction and antipathy toward Israel on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood. That is why Mr. Riedel-Newman has been appointed.
Remember Jeremiah Wright, the reverend who mentored Obama for some twenty years and who now has disappeared from media notice? He was and is an ardent supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Just one of many red flags that speak of Obama’s committment to “change” in the Middle East.
Back to writing my article on the matter.
To JFP:
I shall be happy to respond.
The points raised are both insignificant and irrelevant to the issue. Every day in Palestine, Arabs are murdered, their houses bulldozed and their children assassinated by Zionist thugs. That is the terrorism which is at the heart of the problem – not the examples you mentioned. The entire Moslem world is outraged at these occurences – as well they should be. You also seem to have a short memory on the subject of “terrorism”. Israel was created by terror. Hundreds of English officials and soldiers were blown up or assassinated by the Zionist underground from 1946-1948. Notable among the incidents were the dynamiting of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on July 22, 1946 and the hanging and booby trapping of the bodies of the two British sargeants, Clifford Martin and Mervyn Pace. Numerous letter bombs were sent to British ex-Palestine officials in London. There was even a documented plot by the Zionists to blow up Parliament, Guy Fawkes style, before the plan was vetoed by saner heads in the Jewish Agency. Terrorism, then, is a point of view.
I did not write that Palestine was the sole cause of unrest in the Islamic world. I wrote that it was the disastrous carving up of the Middle East into a crazy patch work of artificial states, of which the Palestine problem is only a part. Since you think my historical perspective is too long I shall propose a shorter narrative for you. The British Empire, which created this mess in the Middle East after World War One, was faced by substantially the same problems the US faces today. It had installed puppet regimes throughout the region to serve its imperial interestrs, most of which eventually rebelled against them. Thus, there were riots in Egypt in the 1920′s, there was the Rashid Ali uprising in Iraq during WW2, there was never-ending rioting in Palestine during the 1920′s and 1930′s,etc. In Palestine, the embryonic Jewish state was to have been the ally of the British Empire, protecting the Suez canal and safeguarding British interests in the region. Thirty years later these Zionist “allies” of the British were terrorizing the lion out of the region. The United States, as the guarantor of a now extant “mandatory” state, are repeating the same mistakes as the British. They are propping up unpopular puppet rulers in Egypt, Iraq and throughout the region. They are also supporting the Zionists in Palestine, like the British. The Jews will use and discard the US imperial whore when it is no longer useful, exactly as they did with the English whore.
Now for a few comments on Zionism. The Zionist propagandists of “Islamo-Fascism” wish their dupes to believe that there is a great menace to western civilization that dates back to 1526 and 1683 (the dates of the two sieges of Vienna). These Zionists, however, do not want Boobus Americanus to understand the true nature and hidden history of Zionism. Zionism was conceived by Theodore Herzl in Vienna as a solution to the age old “Jewish problem”. Herzl believed that Jews were inherently incompatible with Europeans and that they should segregate themselves from Europeans in their own Jewish state. Thus, Zionism was an apartheid philosophy from inception. The Zionists knew, from earliest reports, that Palestine was full of Arabs who would never agree to a Jewish state in their land. Therefore, the Zionists made plans to “transfer’ (expel) the Arabs when the time came. This is all documented in Zionist internal memoranda. The Zionists pouring into Palestine in the 1920′s were Jewish Marxists, just like the Jewish Bolsheviks in Palestine. One big reason for the British agreeing to plant a Jewish “national home” in Palestine was the belief that doing so would help wean the Jews away from Communism and revolution. This argument was constantly referenced by the Zionist leader, Chaim Weizmann.
So you see, JFP, that it is actually Zionism which is incompatible with western civilization. You will not get these facts from “Gates of Vienna” or from Roger Kimball. You will get them from me, because I know what I am talking about.
Oh, sure, I get it now!!–Zionism (and Jews, too, as you imply) are incompatible with European civilization; which must be why, when they got their hands on enough land in Palestine, the Jews ‘made the desert bloom,’ as has been said. What have the Arabs been doing with their deserts?
Israel is an outpost of Western civilization; in a sense, it’s Western civilization writ large, and sticking out like a sore thumb, there in the otherwise failed expanse of the world called the Middle East. That’s why it incurs the implacable hatred of the impotent and envious, who have so little to show for their numbers and land.
Did any of the rest of you read the other day–I think in a column by Anne Applebaum–of how more books are translated into Greek, a tiny minority language these days, in a given year than are translated into Arabic? They already have the answers they need, in their Koran; look where it gets them.
I asked for rational argument, but all I get from you is assertion. Calling something insignificant doesn’t make it so. You really need to argue for this, not just give me a zillion more facts about the Palestinian conflict.
Like many people in academia and the media today, you seem to start out with a theory of the facts — Western (first British and then American) malfeasance in the Middle East — and then you look for the facts to support it. Any facts that don’t support it are declared insignificant. Sorry, but that’s not convincing.
As for Zionist terrorism, I’m aware of it. But notice that that terrorism was confined to one issue, the creation of the state of Israel. These terrorists didn’t go after people in Denmark (or wherever) who made fun of the Torah. They didn’t go after people in the Netherlands who criticized the way the Jews treated women. They didn’t go after people in other countries regarding issues that were entirely irrelevant to the creation of Israel.
My point about all the Muslim violence is that so much of it has nothing to do with Israel or THE AFTERMATH OF WWI — I’m putting that in caps because you seem not to have noticed that I mentioned that in my first post — which leads me to conclude that something else is going on other than what you think is going on.
Plus, you don’t respond to the issue of your analogy: the “death” of Islam as a militant ideology. In a post that came after your response to me, Ward Dorrity has reminded you that Sayyid Qutb would disagree with this assertion. And let me quote a book called “The Alhambra” by Robert Irwin: “From the nineteenth century onwards, the Alhambra [became] a place of pilgrimage for Arabs who mourned the vanished glories of Islam and the caliphate and even today there are Muslims who pray for the restoration of Granada to Muslim rule” (p. 181). The loss of Granada happened in 1492, yet they are still mourning its loss.
Get a clue, please. If it wasn’t Palestine, the Muslim world would be fixated on Spain, and maybe Budapest and other “lost” cities.
You’re wasting time debating this loathsome anti-Semite of – what was the turn of phrase? Superior erudition?
Hmmm. Cute euphemism for the same old blood libel.
Here we have another outraged poster who cannot deal with facts.
Suzanne wants to believe that Arab Palestine was an empty desert, vacant and undeveloped before the Zionists came and “made the desert bloom”. This is the Joan Peters “From Time Immemorial Nonsense”. In actual fact, Palestine had been highly cultivated for centuries before the coming of the Zionists in the 1880′s.In the 18th and 19th centuries, cotton exports had been one of the principal produce products of Arab Palestine. During the American Civil War, Europe got most of its cotton from the Arab farmers of Palestine, after cotton from the American South had been cut off by the war. The orange groves of Jaffa and the Nashashibi vineyards were also flourishing in Palestine long before the coming of Theodore Herzl. The Zionist scouts in Palestine, such as Leo Motzkin, reported back to Zionist organizations in Europe that the land was full of Arabs who were already cultivating every arable acre of land. The Zionist response was essentially, “we’ll get rid of the Arabs later” (as indeed they did in 1948).
I trust that I shall not be bored with the famous bogus Mark Twain quotation that skips from one page to hundreds of pages later without the ellipsis to show what was being done. As for the usual bilge about Zionism being an outpost of western civilization in the barren deserts of Arabia, I will mention one inconvenient fact for Suzanne. When the German Nazis came to power in 1933, the Zionist leadership in Germany approached the Nazis to make a deal. The deal, in essence, went like this. “You, the Nazi leadership, want the Jews out of Germany because they are a subversive element. We, the Zionist leadership agree with you that Jews are an alien force in German life. We will help you expel the Jews from Germany if you agree to help us, the Zionists, send them to Palestine.” And so it was done. Under the Transfer Agreement approximately 40,000 German Jews were sent to Palestine with their assets, minus an exit tax. Special training camps were set up in Germany to train German Jews for agricultural pursuits in Palestine. The Nazi press praised Zionism in Palestine to the hilt and strongly urged German Jews to go there. The Zionist blue and white flag of pre-Israel was allowed to fly alongside the swastika. A special medallion commemorating Zionism was coined by propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. Perhaps the Arabs were not quite as successful as the Jews in upbuilding Palestine because they did not have the massive assistance provided by the Nazis to their Jewish adversaries. (Whatever help Haj Amin al-Husseini got from the Germans was minor compared to this.)
I could go on for hundreds of pages detailing the facts that you do not know, Suzanne. But that would serve no purpose. The relevant point is: the Nazis thought that a Jewish state in Palestine would be a good thing because it would rid Europe of unwanted Jews. They never conceived of it as an outpost of western civilization – nor did the Zionists who collaborated with them.
I would only suggest that there was plenty of room for improvement, and added land under cultivation, as Palestine came increasingly under Jewish control (i.e., as settlers from Europe and the US, motivated by Zionism, came to swell the ranks of Jews who had remained in the Holy Land from time immemorial). Look, today, at the blossoming of high-tech industries where the Israelis are leaders out of all proportion to their numbers. Real facts don’t lie.
Tell me about the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and his visits to Hitler and fond hopes for collaboration with the Nazis in the Final Solution.
It’s perhaps the saddest fact the world has to deal with today, that so many people in the Moslem world are so backward and helpless. If only there could be a real democracy movement in the Moslem world, not to be hijacked by theocratic, murderous fantasists. There does not seem to be the broad grounding in political philosophy that was of such use to the American Founders, and it’s too bad.
The Palestinians were under Turkey`s rule in the 1800`s, there never was a Palestinian country. It is plain true history that the Jews were settled in that area long before there were Palestinians. The Jews even ruled over Damascus and Syria at one time but I know you will not believe this truth!
To Jarmo and Dorrity:
You are both ignoramuses. Historical causation does not extend from the seventh century to the year 2011. As for odious religious scriptures, try looking up the passages in the Babylonian Talmud of the Jews which teach that non-Jews are animals in human form, that non-Jews exist only to erve Jews (according to the ex-Grand Rabbi of Israel), that Jesus is being boiled in hot excrement for all eternity, etc.
If you really wanted to make a case for centuries old antipathy toward Christian civilization, you would be far more believable if you researched a long standing Jewish tradition. But, of course, you know nothing of that, anymore than you know anything of the basic facts of modern Middle Eastern history.
Away with you, and take your abysmal ignorance elsewhere.
Let’s see, here. First, an ad-hominem. Fail. Next, a refusal to address the history of Islam, and in particular, one Sayyid Qutb, whose contemporary work, In the Shade of the Koran tells a rather different story with regard to mainstream Islamic views on jihad and other matters. Another failure on your part. That’s two strikes. Want to try for three? You know you want it. But you’re not going to enjoy the results.
Slow down there, I have read the Quran, Torah, Bible, Kabbalah and a few other books not in the bible. Show me any where that the Jews believed that non Jewish people were animals. If a stranger living amongst the Jews were to be treated like everyone else even the Jews. Now their were a few restrictions on the non Jew such as a Jew could own a non Jew but not a Jew. If these strangers living amongst the Jews wished they could convert to the Hebrew religion after a certain period of time, but by their choice. The Jews did not run around killing non Jews like the Muslims do today. Jesus coming showed us how to live with his mercy, and all Jesus did were good deeds compared to the mentally unbalanced, pedophile Mohammad who preach either his way or death. Islam`s roots are in the Hebrew religion. They taught the Torah, believed in Abraham, Moses the Mother Mary, Jesus and John the baptist. Islam has been nothing more than a way to control certain people by a few know it all`s, a lot like how Christianity was high jacked by certain powerful people of that time. I will stick with Jesus and try to treat and respect everyone equally that have different views than mine. Remember we all have to answer to GOD not a man!
Don’t bother asking for rational argument from Mr. Thames (if I’ve got his name right); he makes stuff up. What was that weird stuff about “stewing in excrement” or something, and the strange fantasy about the Jews “collaborating” with Nazis, and so on?
It means he got into the liquor cabinet again!
This is so simple that people refuse to believe it. You have as our president, barrack obama who has done nothing but aid islamic terrorist and turn aganist all our allies. He can speak arabic fluently and seems to understand the quran, but can not understand our Constitution. Either we have the most ill informed representatives or we have someone in the White House that appears to be muslim. Just look at obama`s track record, sure he is using the predators for bombing in afghanistan and pakistan. Any fool with any kind of common sense knows that war in afghanistan could be over very fast, if we really went to war and not play war like we did in Vietnam! Giving the muslims a reason, to hate and want to destroy our country. Obama is the Benedick Arnold of our time!
THE PSEUDO-PATRIOTISM OF THE PSEUDO-CONSERVATIVES
One of the consequences of the switching of Jewish loyalties from the old Soviet Union to Israel has been the rise of revisionist anti-Communism. Revisionist anti-Communism is the digging out of the historical closet all the facts that show McCarthy, HUAC and the Permanent investigations Subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee were right. Why is it now permissible to talk about facts that were denounced as “character assassination” decades ago? Some will say – it is the emergence of new information. New information there is, surely. But that is not the real explanation. The real explanation is that the Jewish agenda has changed. In the days of Jewish Communism Jews had to deny – at all costs – that there were any Communists in the government or Hollywood. Why? Because the Communists being exposed were overwhelmingly Jewish. Now that Communism has fallen and the state of Israel is the “only democracy in the Middle East”, the Jews have a different strategy. They wish to convince Americans that there is a great evil that threatens them – an evil called “Islamo-Fascism”. This evil represents an internal security threat – the same internal security threat that McCarthy was fighting! Therefore, resurrect McCarthy, pronounce “Islamo-Fascism” the new Communism and demonize anti-Zionist conservatives and pro-Palestinian liberals as the new Alger Hisses.
This is laughable beyond description when one considers that the American government, Hollywood and the media are permeated at all levels with Israel First Jewish traitors. It is hard to believe that any thinking mind could actually believe such nonsense. But the internet is full of websites and blogs taking this transparent propaganda seriously. If Americans had any historical knowledge they could not fall for such nonsense. Jews have always subscribed to two ideologies – Communism or Zionism (sometimes both). They have always been divided between the two ideologies. Joseph Stalin’s anti-Jewish campaign in the Soviet Union post-1950 and the rise of the state of Israel in 1948 caused a seismic shift in Jewish loyalties. Many of the new Jewish supporters of Israel retained their Marxist, extreme leftist politics; others were supporters of Vladimir Jabotinsky’s Revisionist Zionists (the ideological forebears of Israel’s Likud and America’s neo-conservatives). Now that the Jewish Communist past has been forgotten, the false patriots of neo-conservatism find it useful to resurrect the Senator they worked so hard to destroy.
Comment: This another good one to send your brains spinning.

We breathlessly await your series of readings from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, oh enlightened one. Right up your alley, so to speak.
JFP:
If you are going to ask for rational argumnent, you should first understand what rational argument is. Unfortunately, you don’t. Your assertion that Islamic animus against the west has nothing to do with either the Palestine issue or the post-WW1 partition of Arabia is so breathtakingly absurd that it would get you kicked out of any Political Science course on the subject.
Now for the nature of Islam. There is no doubt whatever that it is a war like religion. Dying for the faith will admit you to paradise. It is also true that there are elements in it regarding the dietary regulations which are very similar to Judaic prescriptions. As far as the Chosen are concerned, Jews were always treated more leniently under Islam than they were under Christianity during the Middle Ages. But to argue that Islam itself is what is causing the current crisis is like arguing that Judaism has been at constant war with the west because of the ancient collisions with Rome(in actual fact, Judaism still is in perpetual collision with western civilization because of the anti-social teachings of the Talmud but that is another issue).
One could argue that Judaism has been in perpetual war with the west because of the Jewish butcheries of the Caanites recorded in the Old Testament, the butcheries of Bar Kochba or the slaughter of the Greek and Roman civilian populations by the Jewish rebels in Libya/Cyrenaica, continuing with the aggresions of the converted Khazars for five hundred years in south Russia up to the massacres of the Jewish commissars in Stalin’s Russia. You would never make that argument because that would be “anti’Semitic”. But you are perfectly willing to make these kinds of “From Time Immemorial” historical links based on the propaganda of Zionist agents splattered throughout the various government bureaus and the media. As the late P.T. Barnum used to put it, “There is a sucker born every minute.”
Your arguments that Islamic counter-terrorism has nothing to do with the Zionist occupation of Palestine because it extends to areas like Spain and India is also nonsensical. A reaction against an ongoing injustice can flare well beyond the originating cause, just as a fire spreads after it starts. I note that you had nothing to say about my comparison with the British Empire which is very comparable with the position of the U.S. today. Your claim that Zionist terrorism is distinguishable from Islamic terrorism because the former was more limited in scope is equally poppycock. In actual fact, Zionist terrorism continued in the 1950′s and 1960′s, long before the Zionist controlled media ever invented the hoax of “Islamo-Fascism”. There was the forgotten Lavon Affair of 1954 in which the idea was to burn the library of the U.S. nformation Service library in Cairo, blame it on the Arabs and use it to poison U.S. Arab relations. Thn there was the deliberate attack by Israel in 1967 of the U.S. intelligence “Liberty” in which the idea was to sink the ship, blame it on the Egyptians and get the U.S. to blast Egypt to expand Israel’s success in the war. And if you think that the big, bad Arabs managed to hijack two jet liners and fly them into two trade centers while the air defense systems mysteriously shut down and looked the other way, five minutes of circumsised cogitation should change your mind. (09/11, in case you did not know, was the date the British Empire “proclaimed” the mandate over Palestine, which went into effect on September 11, 1923. What Zionist master planner of 09/11 came up with that inspired piece of historical cynicism, do you suppose?)
You seem not to notice,JFP, that ever since the collapse of the old Soviet Union, the U.S. has had a huge military budget to protect America from no real enemy. Do you suppose that a concocted myth of a dire Islamic menace would be useful in sustaining a vast bureaucracy squatting on the back of the taxpayers? Do you notice, JFP, that all these evil “Islamo-Fascists” have not made one single attempt to assassinate a Zionist-controlled U.S. Congressman or Senator? (Far less efficient, I believe, than the Zionist underground sending letter bombs to London. Jews work hader than “sand niggers”, obviously.) Maybe that is why the FBI has to concoct fake bomb plots because they cannot find any real terrorists. And, of course, JFP, you obviously have not noticed who sold the U.S. pure lies about non-existent “weapons of mass destruction” in Iraq. I believe it was dangerous “Islamo-Fascists” with names like Philip Zelkind, Abram Shulsky, Richard Holbrooke, Douglas Feith, Madeline Korbel/Albright,Dov “Z”,and all the rest of the patriotic Israel Firsters who appeal to your carefully influenced mind.
No doubt you shall dismiss this response as another one of my “irrelevant” rantings. But I can see what is really going on. I know that the media selling me this bulshit is the same media that honored Walter Duranty for lying about a certain famine in the early 1930′s in which seven to ten million perished; that sold the American public “Mission To Moscow” during WW2 and that sold them the myth of an uninhabited waste land in Palestine. Unlike you, I believe them to be the same liars now that they were then. And before I am hit with the dread label of “anti-Semite”, read the columns of the half-Jewish Eric Margolis, former columnist of the Toronto Sun, who substantially agrees with me.
Oh my God–there are no threats from Islamic terrorists here in the US, they’ve all been concocted by the FBI …
This is a really strange character we’re dealing with, folks!
Time to stop reading, stop bothering to respond to this stuff at all.
1. You’re the one who doesn’t understand rational argument. You’re cherry picking your data to support your conclusions.
2. Telling me that my assertions would get me kicked out of any Political Science class is just more assertion on your part. It isn’t rational argument.
3. “But to argue that Islam itself is what is causing the current crisis is like arguing that Judaism has been at constant war with the west because of the ancient collisions with Rome(in actual fact, Judaism still is in perpetual collision with western civilization because of the anti-social teachings of the Talmud but that is another issue).”
I never argued such a thing. I know plenty of Westernized Muslims who have no connection with the current crisis. All I’m saying is that there are some Muslims out there – Muslims who are very violent – for whom the issue of Palestine is just one issue among many, and whose main goal is domination of the world, or at least the West, for the sake of re-establishing the Caliphate. I don’t know how many there, but let’s say it’s as little as one percent of all Muslims. Since there are a billion Muslims in the world, that’s still 10 million people out there who want to rule us.
4. “But you are perfectly willing to make these kinds of “From Time Immemorial” historical links…”
I don’t see why not. For us in the West, such thinking is rather absurd because there’s a lot in our culture of more recent vintage that impresses us. But in the Muslim world, there’s not much to be proud of, so they hearken back to the glories of an earlier age.
5. “… based on the propaganda of Zionist agents splattered throughout the various government bureaus and the media.”
My view were shaped by watching the actions of Muslims, not by Zionist or any other agents. What changed my mind especially was the aftermath of the Iranian revolution, when Muslims butchered leftists. It astonished me. I had thought that leftists and Muslims were united in hating the Shah, so why were the Muslims suddenly turning on their allies? A few years later came the fatwa against Salman Rushdie, and that convinced me that they wanted to rule us.
6. “Your arguments that Islamic counter-terrorism has nothing to do with the Zionist occupation of Palestine because it extends to areas like Spain and India is also nonsensical. A reaction against an ongoing injustice can flare well beyond the originating cause, just as a fire spreads after it starts.”
It is not nonsensical. It may be wrong, but it’s not nonsensical. You give an analogy to explain it, but that doesn’t prove that the analogy is right. Here is another analogy: the “Zionist occupation of Palestine” was a catalyst for the revival of old dreams. I don’t see why I should pick your analogy over mine. Here’s a third (and more likely) possibility: the Palestinian issue is just one of many issues that some Muslims are bothered by. If it wasn’t the Palestinian issue, it would be some other issue.
7. “I note that you had nothing to say about my comparison with the British Empire which is very comparable with the position of the U.S. today.”
I didn’t say anything about it because I think it’s only part of what’s going on.
8. “Your claim that Zionist terrorism is distinguishable from Islamic terrorism because the former was more limited in scope is equally poppycock.”
The examples you give still don’t extend as broadly as the hypothetical examples I gave. Every example you gave was about Israel, not about Judaism. No one is killing film directors who make movies bashing Judaism.
9. “… the Zionist controlled media ever invented the hoax of “Islamo-Fascism”.
Get a grip. Whoever controls the media, one thing they definitely do not believe in is the existence of Islamo-fascism. They think that 9/11 was all our fault.
10. “And if you think that the big, bad Arabs managed to hijack two jet liners and fly them into two trade centers while the air defense systems mysteriously shut down and looked the other way, five minutes of circumsised cogitation should change your mind. (09/11, in case you did not know, was the date the British Empire “proclaimed” the mandate over Palestine, which went into effect on September 11, 1923. What Zionist master planner of 09/11 came up with that inspired piece of historical cynicism, do you suppose?)”
Sigh. You’re a truther. See here for some sense on 9/11: http://www.911myths.com/
As for your claim that 9/11 was chosen because of that is the date of the British mandate over Palestine, you’re accusing me of not knowing what rational argument is?
I don’t see any point in commenting on the rest of your comments. There’s just not much there.
Nor will I be looking at any new comments you post.
http://vdare.com/buchanan/110131_winners_losers.htm
A Patrick Buchanan column directly on point.
I see that that a God fearing believer of Jesus has joined the discussion. Where does it say that non-Jews are animals in human form? Go to truth tellers.org, Mr. Gaines, and read all about it from Reverend Ted Pike. The Jewish religion is not based on the Old Testament, as you seem to suppose. It is based on the Talmud. What is the Talmud? It is a set of some twenty six volumes of rabbinical commentary on every aspect of Jewish daily law, in which the rabbis turn the old Testamentry scriptures upside-down. Get Israel Shahakk’s book, “Jewish History, Jewish Religion: The Weight of Three Thousand Years” and do some research.
God spare me from people who know nothing (the God fearing, the historically illiterate, the TV indoctrinated and Jews worshipping the Holy Holocaust, etc.) It is all too much.
If any of you think that because some Moslem scribe regurgitates the Koran or says “holy war!” that therefore the next siege of Vienna is on the way then you probably “think” that because some rebel newspaper claims that the South was right that the next War Between The States is imminent. Get real.
The only clash currently taking place is because Europe has stupidly allowed millions of Turks and Muslims in. That is like the US stupidly allowing millions of Mexicans into the US. Racial realities are racial realities but “Islamo-Fascism: is nonsense.
If this debate has proved anything, it has established that Americans are utterly incapable of logically analyzing facts. They can, and will, believe any swill that anyone hands them. Examples are innumerable. During WW1 Americans were told that the “Huns” (the Germans of Kaiser Wilhelm) were raping the planet and chopping off the hands of little Belgian babies. They believed it. They banned the German language in the US and denounced beer as a symbol of “Kaiser Kultur”. When Orson Welles broadcast his famous “War of the Worlds” show in 1939, Americans who had been fed anti-Nazi propaganda for five years actually believed that “the Martians were coming” under an outer space Adolf Hitler. And now, these same Americans believe that “Islamo-Fascism” is going to get them.
Let me give you some rational analysis, children. There is a real threat rising in Red China. Their wealth is increasing exponentially. The Chinese are building their military and developing the missle and nuclear technology they stole from us through the assistance of the Democratic National Committe. They have naval bases in Mexico and the Carribean. When we have exhausted our armies, squandered our wealth and bled ourselves dry in useless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, they will strike. What will oppose them? Nothing. The Army will consist of amputees and drug addicts with no will left to fight – because they were lied to and their lives squandered chasing Al Quada ghosts.
Ponder that scenario, you pseudo-patriotic “geniuses”.
Dear Mr Dorrity:
I lost interest in the Protocols long ago. Why don’t you read “The Hoax of the Twentieth Century: The Case Against the Presumed Extermination of European Jewry” by Arthur Butz. That really would rock your mind. Besides, Butz doesn’t believe in the Protocols either.
Well, I should have known all the nonsense responses I was going to get when I started posting here. Now it is more drivel from Suzanne. The issue here is not whether Communist Jews from Russia migrated to Israel are good at computers. No doubt they are. Israel has a vast eavesdropping industry with links to Jews in American intelligence agencies so that they can keep track of odious people like me. All American telephone billing is done by Israeli companies, for one example. Suzanne may be sure that since the Patriot Acts (written by Jews in anticipation of the 09/11 incident they set up) give the American government the right to track citizens reading material, every time I order a rare reference work or request one from the library, the US government can request the info and ship it to Israel to share with their good kosher buddies. They must have a better index of my vast research library than I do. I’m flattered.
It might also interest Suzanne to know that those technologically innovative Israelis get a lot of their “innovations” the easy way, a la the late Rosenbergs. They simply steal the stuff from their U.S. “ally” and then use the results of American know-how to line their own pockets. Naturally, all those Jew bought and paid for politicians won’t sue them for copyright infringement. That wouldn’t be be kosher.
Yes, Suzanne, there were a few Jews living in Palestine “from time immemorial”. They subsisted on alms and charity from Diaspora Jewry while the Arabs farmed the land. And we all know the marvelous”improvements” that the Zionist Jews provided for all the Arabs they kicked into the desert to starve in 1948. Just look at the booming sand flush commodes in Gaza, provided by socially conscious Zionist entepeneurs. You really are funny, Suzanne.
Yes, the evil, evil, Grand Mufti. He went to Berlin to get help for his people. He should have made deals with the SS Emigration Office of Adolf Eichmann, like Zionist Feifel Polkes. Or maybe he should have offered to align Zionism with Germany like the Stern gang did, when Erwin Rommel looked like a sure winner over the British. Nazi collaboration is bad for Arabs; good for Jews. So sayeth Suzanne.
Back to developing Palestine. The Arabs have really benefitted from Zionist development haven’t they, Suzanne. Why, look at that enlightened agency called the Jewish National Fund. The Jew gets to lease land from the Agency for 99 years, provided that he never sublease it to any Arab. Then the land reverts to the JNF in the “name of the Jewish people”. Isn’t Communist-Racist real estate policy fun, Suzanne? Maybe we could have the same policy in the USA for whites but Jewish civil rights lawyers with their second homes in Israel would never go for it. And weren’t the rabbis in Israel demanding recently that their fellow Jews not rent to Arabs? Then there is that famous “Law of Return”. As I recall it from the Gilmour’s book on the subject: “The Dispossesed: The Ordeal of the Palestinians” the Arab expelled in the 1948 war has a short number of years to provide title to his house, which title was probably lost in the war or never registered by the Ottoman authorities. Otherwise, tough luck and the house goes to the Jew who moved in after the war. Very beneficial, Suzanne.
And, of course, development projects are easy to fund when the British and American taxpayers are coughing up the dough. “Loans” that are always “forgiven” by Uncle Chuck back in New York also help a lot. I wom’t belabor the point further, Suzanne. I do look forward to the next round of sophistry. It is so entertaining.
Enough already.
Let’s take a look at the Arab population of Israel and compare them to the Arab populations under Arab rule (who controls Gaza, by the way, and whom did they vote into power? Geniuses!!), and see who is better off by standard demographic criteria: per capita wealth, education, life expectancy, whatever.
It’s been very entertaining, reading what a true wallowing-in-the-filth hater like you have had to say. Bye.
JFP:
It suits me fine if you will no longer be responding to my posts. You have not yet written one thing that makes the slightest sense. If you really think that the Zionist occupation of Palestine is not at the root of Moslem resentment of the west, you should try talking to real Arabs in the real world. When I was in California recently I was talking to an Arab restaraunt owner in Marina del Rey. He was fully conversant with all the facts I have been describing. The facts about WW1 betrayal and Lord Balfour’s declaration were as fresh in his mind as they are in mine. I can assure you that he is representative of the vast majority of Moslems who have the historical acumen that your mind lacks.
It hardly surprises me that you buy the official story on 09/11. A mind sufficiently incapable of rational thought as yours could easily believe that two world trade centers were brought down by a method never hitherto seen. As to Moslems trying to “conquer the world” I note that Moslems do not provide two-thirds of Democratic Party campaign contributions or one-third of Republican Party campaign contributions. Before going off the deep end about nonsensical Moslems conspiracies to rule the planet, you might try noticing who is running your own country right now.
I realize that your up-to-date-mind sees no correlation between the past and the present; I am also aware of how tedious you find history lessons. But even if it is the last one you ever read, read this one.In November 1947, the United Nations voted to partition Palestine into separate Arab and Jewish states. The struggle to get the partition resolution passed was long and hard. The members of the General Assembly were overwhelmingly against it.They perceived a gross injustice in giving away an Arab land to incoming, colonizing Jews. How did the Zionists get the partition resolution passed? Why, they did it by exercising the very international power they deny they possess. The floor of the General Assembly were criss-ctossed by agents of international Zionism working for the U.S. government. Men like Robert Nathan, Herbert Bayard Swope, David “Mickey Marcus”, Colonel Hildring, Bernard Baruch and many others walked the floor of the United Nations threatening and cajoling delegates to overcome the initial resistance to partition. One favorite technique was to threaten the withdrawal of U.S. loans to countries that failed to vote the right way. One such was Panama. The Panamanian ambassador had made an impassioned speech against partition. When the U.S. government politely reminded the Panamanian government that there were no fewer than four outstanding U.S. loans to Panama, the government in the Philipines ordered its ambassador to reverse position and vote for partition. In another case,Harvey Firestone told the Liberian government that unless it reversed its opposition to partition, a Firestone tire factory would be moved elsewhere. Naturally, Liberia saw the light. When there was a revolution in Siam, the Zionists immediately pounced to invalidate the vote of the former government against partition. Still, the vote on partition had to be delayed several times for the Zionists to exercise the necessary pressure. The Zionist agent who was the president of the General Assembly, President Aranha of Brazil, was most accomodating. He post-poned the final vote three times until the Zionists could gather the necessary votes. The entire sordid business was described by Garcia Granados, the president of Guatemala, in his book, “The Birth of Israel”. (Guatemala was one of the countries that voted for partition, as described by Granados in his philo-Zionist account.)
And so, partition was imposed on an unwilling Arab land through international Zionist pressure all over the globe. Please note that it was not mythical “Islamo-Fascism” that did this; it was the “mythical” Zionist international. Now JFP, that marvelouly astute student of international affairs and world class blogger, will tell us that these facts of long ago have nothing to do with present problems. The Arabs, then and now, could not perceive who really runs the U.S. government. They could not notice Zionist international power being exercised all over the planet. They could not see that the U.S. government was doing all these things on the behest of Zionism. No indeed, they only came up with these purely delusional ideas because they read it in the Koran. So says JFP. And even if the Zionist Jews did do these things sixty years ago, they have since lost their power and no longer manipulate the U.S. government to screw the Arabs like they once did.
Well, people, you can read JFP or you can read me. It is your choice.
Ah, Suzanne again.
Now, I suffer from “weird fantasies” and “just make things up”. Do I really, Suzanne? Let us see. If you do not believe the allegations about Nazi-Zionist collaboration, read the following books, “The Transfer Agreement” by Edwin Black and “Zionism in the Age of the ictators” by Lenni Brenner. You might also read “Zionism in the Third Reich” by professor Francis Nicosia. If you do not believe the odious Talmudic passages get hold of the Soncino pres edition of the Babylonian Talmud in twenty-six volumes. Or read Peter Schaeffer’s book, “Jesus Christ in the Talmud”. You might also try Michael Hoffman’s “The Strange Gods of Judaism” or Benjamin Freedman’s old pamphlet, “Facts Are Facts: The Truth About Khazars”. If you have the necessary research skills read
“Synagoga Judaica” by Johannes Buxdorf or “Endektes Judentum” by Johannes Eisenmenger”, published in the 16th and 17th centuries.
No, no Suzanne. You will have to do better. Calling me crazy and a liar will not cut it. I have too many verifiable facts at my disposal.
Dear Suzanne:
I am so turned on by your superior intelligence. Why don’t you rent a room in the southwest wing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem while looking at the mug shots of Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir and Nathan Yellin Mor in their Palestine Police Force “Most Wanted” posters. Then, when your room collapses to the ground and you die, along with ninety other people, you will know what “terrorism” really is
Helpful hint: Jully 22 would be an ideal date for a reservation. Don’t die in bed.
No one needs your lessons about what terrorism really is.
You are just bandying words–although maybe you actually believe them. That’s the sickest thought of all, perhaps.
Time to read someone who matters, like Roger Kimball, for instance.
But Mubarak must be deposed since he is a bad man. It is the same reason that we must transform the US Constitution, because it was written by bad men. Some of them even owned slaves. So the Constitution is a bad document.
Now if you will give us a little more power we will make sure all the world is just for good men and woman and we will have democracy for all people.
Democratic/Progressive/Communist talking points 2011
An odd mix of sarcasim there nickel.
Suzanne:
I do not deal in words; I deal only in facts. You have never read any.
Many of the Arabs kicked across the river in 1948 had homes and farms that had been in their families for centuries. I do not believe that their standard of living was improved by being kicked into the desert to subsist on United Nations relef. The standard of living in that vast outdoor prison called Gaza is also well known. And yes I do know exactly what terrorism is. Try reading J. Bowyer Bell’s book, “Terror Out of Zion” or Saul Zadka’s book, “Blood Out of Zion”. You will quickly discover who the “terrorists” really are. (Helpful hint: It isn’t the Arabs.)
Since you think Mr. Roger Kimball is the essence of all wisdom, try reading his thread “The Perils of Forgetfullness” where yours truly takes Mr. Kimball apart on Patrick Buchanan’s book, “Churchill, Hitler and the Unnecessary War”. There you will learn how the real enemy was not Adolf Hitler but the Jewish Communist Soviet Union of Joseph Stalin. Mr. Kimball stays away from such subjects because he works for the same National review that fired Joe Sobran for writing like John Thames (albeit in more subdued form).
It has been nice knowing you Suzanne – your kosher conservatism shall not kep America great.
The Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoots present a greater danger to the world than the Soviet Union ever did. The day will come where many of our leaders will be tried for treason as defacto agents of the Muslim Brotherhood and coercing the people of the US into believing they present no threat.
ADOLESCENTS OF THE INTELLECT
One of the benefits of living in a democracy is that any fool can have an opinion (unless it is an opinion of which Jews disapprove, in which case the penalty is instant career destruction). Thus, the internet blogs overflow with ignoramuses, pontificating on subjects they have never studied. They will deny the facts on Jewish commissars, tell you that the Moslems are out to conquer the world because they heard on the TV set, proclaim that the blacks in darkest Africa are the equal of whites and that you are an evil racist if you do not believe it or assert that Palestine was an empty desert before the Zionists came. They have never read a book on anything they presume to discuss or spent an hour in a research library but they know all about it regardless.
Their ignorance is invincible. They huff and puff with self-righteous indignation if you point out any of the documented facts they deny. Thus, they will call you an “anti-Semite”, a “Holocaust Denier”, a “bigot”, a “hater”, a “distorter of facts”, a “pseudo-historian” and every other epithet they can hurl against you. They hiss like the vampire at the sign of the cross. But when it comes to refutation, they offer Nuremberg forgeries, Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh commentaries and History Channel specials. The general rule is that they do not want to hear anything that contradicts their pre-conceived notions. If you prove them wrong, they hate you all the more. The internet blogs overflow with such minds. These are the people who go to the polls and elect the same charlatans who lie to them, again and again. These are the people who never wise up and who would scream like bawling brats if they were forced to wise up.
Debating with such types us entertaining, but futile. They are adolescents of the intellect.
Chief EOD “thinks” that the Muslim Brotherhood poses a greater threat to the US than the Soviet Union ever did. Both Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin would sign a Ribbentrop-Molotov “laugh pakt” over that one.
Yes John. The threat of the Soviet Union was widely recognized and so dealt with on various levels. Whereas the Islamist threat is not and has a whole segment of our society (yourself included) who as the Neville Chamberlains of today not only naysay the danger but actually assist in facilitating the infiltration. Those of us in the West have an inordinate tendency to overlook and/or dismiss anything that is not an outright frontal attack or that does not take place in the time frame of NOW. The Mid-Eastern / Arab cultures are quite the opposite plus they see and exploit our inherent weakness in this area.
For those here who are not “useful idiots”, as is Mr. Thames, do some reading & research on your own. The thesis of Steven Coughlin prepared for the Pentagon and JCOS would be a good place to start. http://www.carlisle.army.mil/DIME/documents/20080107_Coughlin_ExtremistJihad.pdf
Then the two recent works of Paul Sperry, Infiltration, and The Muslim Mafia should be read. Followed by your own research into the validity of their documentation.
Mr. James, quite the self-absorber pontificating blowhard aren’t you. Here are some simple questions for you that will help establish whether or not you are nothing more than a brain deal liberal lemming like shill of the OIC. These originated with someone else here in PM but they are most legitimate and I have little doubt they will stump you.
• Describe the outline of the historical Palestinian State, as well as tracking the historical population trends.
• Name for me several Palestinian governmental leaders and methods of succession (election, revolt, coup, etc).
• Were Palestinian Leaders called Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Shahs, etc.?
• How would you describe the governmental structure of historical Palestine?
• This one is easy, where was the capital of Palestine and does the Palestinian capital building stand today (I expect it to be claimed as Jerusalem)?
• What was the major industrial or agricultural base for historic Palestine, and who were their major trading partners?
• Was there a secondary educational structure within historical Palestine and if so, name the Universities serving the intellectual class?
• What steps have the Muslim States in the region taken to assist the Palestinian people; i.e what steps have Jordon, Syria, Egypt, et al taken to welcome and give aid to their Muslim Palestinian brothers/sisters? I am sure these peaceful peoples have shared great wealth and resources with their Muslim friends. How about I supply the first part of the answer on this one? Forced their Muslim “brothers” to live in refugee/internment camps.
How about you just simply summarize a brief history of the Palestinian State during the 18th, 19th and early 20th Centuries, prior to the Zionists allegedly conquering the country, stealing the land and expelling these Palestinian people (to where?)?
Now that that little bit of fun is out of the way how about we shift gears here and let radical Islam speak for itself. Let their own quotes speak for them, because their leaders, both political and religious, are the ones who influence the people in their interpretation of the Quran and how to live among the so called “unbelievers.” I look forward to you enlightening us on how all this is taken out of context and misinterpreted.
Seyyid Qutb, Milestones
The Qur’an did not come down all at once; rather it came down according to the needs of the Islamic society in facing new problems,…
This teaching is called Progressive revelation and is common taught to the believer. What is not commonly taught is that it applies not just to the faithful as a whole down through time, but it also applies to the instruction of the new believer. In other words the deception is multilateral; the new believer is not “ready” to understand all of the Holy Writings so therefore is given the truths as they are ready and able to accept them. This is possible due to a nexus in Islam between progressive revelation, abrogation, and slander. Abrogation doctrine reflects what Nyazee, Kamali, and Yusuf Ali describe as “progressive revelation” over the period of Quranic revelation, the effect of Islamic law of slander is that it allows for Islamic conversion to an incomplete understanding of Islam.
In the book Methodology of Dawah Ilallah in American Perspective, they discusses how new American converts to Islam are to be converted to a form of Islam that reflects an early stage of revelation thus leaving the mosque community to oversee the new convert’s personal journey through the Milestones of revelation.
The concept of Tawheed (Oneness of God) is explained to them in academic fashion without
telling what this Kalimah demands from a Muslim. Aqidah is explained without giving the details
of the impact of Iman Billah and Iman Bil-Akhirah, and without telling what revolution it must
bring in the life of an individual and the society in which he lives.
The question is this: If a new convert is deliberately indoctrinated with an incomplete understanding of Islam how much more are we the ‘Kuffer’ (non-Muslim) be kept in the dark?
b7.0 Scholarly Consensus (IJMA’)
b7.2 When the four necessary integrals of consensus exist, the ruling agreed upon is an authoritative part of Sacred Law that is obligatory to obey and not lawful to disobey. Nor can mujtahids of a succeeding era make the thing an object of new ijtihad, because the ruling on it, verified by scholarly consensus, is an absolute legal ruling which does not admit of being contravened or annulled.
o8.0 Apostasy from Islam (RIDDA)
Leaving Islam is the ugliest form of unbelief (kufr) and the worst.
o8.1 When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.
o8.7 Among the things that entail apostasy from Islam (may Allah protect them) are:
(14) To deny the obligatory character of something by which the consensus of Muslims (ijma’ , def: b7) is part of Islam.
Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri, Reliance of the Traveller
THE Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law, Umdat Al-Salik
It is unbelief (kufr) to hold that the remnant cults now bearing the names of formerly valid religions, such as “Christianity” of “Judaism”, are acceptable to Allah Most High after He has sent the final Messenger. This is a matter over which there is no disagreement among Islamic scholars.
Book R: Holding One’s Toung
r10.3 Scholars say there is no harm (def:p8.2(a:)) in giving a misleading impression if required by an interest countenanced by Sacred Law that is more important than not misleading the person being addressed or if there is a pressing need which could not otherwise be fulfilled except through lying.
r7.1 (Nahlawi:) It is not permissible to give directions and the like to someone intending to perpetrate a sin, because it is helping another to commit disobedience.
Giving direction to wrongdoers includes:
.(1) showing the way to policemen and tyrants when they are going to commit injustice and corruption;
“Injustice” as defined by Islamic Law
r2.16 Slander, though unlawful, is sometimes permissible for a lawful purpose, the legitimating factor being that there is some aim countenanced by Sacred Law that is unattainable by other means.

Codification: The Goal of Islamic Texts
Page xix When we use the word “code” with reference to Islamic legal texts, we obviously do not mean a statute enforced with the authority of the state. Codification with reference to Islamic schools means the attempt to bring uniformity into the law out of a mass of available rulings. Such a code, like all statutes, enables the subjects to follow the law with ease, and supports the experts in providing detailed rulings to the subjects (called fatwās).
Page xxiv The book contains a huge amount of “coded” information. We use the term coded here to mean what people in the computer world would mean. Within this information are “macros” – short statements that pack within them pages of information. The macro needs to be processed before the code can reveal its entire meaning. These macros are to be processed with the help of a teacher or detailed commentaries. A person who is able to study al-Hidāyah after elaborating these macros is likely to reach the machine-level of instructions of fiqh.
Moderates & apologists almost always insist that there are no absolute rulings of Islam denying Ijma’ and (scholarly consensus) as defined in Sacred Islamic law ignoring the fact that a number of Islamic states specifically refer/defer tgo this in their constitutions. Regardless of the moderates, if the “radicals” and jihadists argue as if it existed and Constitutions referred to the concept as if it were real, how then is it not “true” Islam?

In the Hadith Mohammed urges Muslims to practice Jihad. Mohammed once was asked: what is the best deed for the Muslim next to believing in Allah and His Apostle? His answer was: “To participate in Jihad in Allah’s cause “ (Al Bukhari vol. 1:25 )
What is the Jihad he is speaking of?
Mohammed was quoted as saying: ”I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah “ Al Bukhari vol. 4:196
Mohammed also said, “The person who participates in (Holy Battles) in Allah’s cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostle, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to paradise (if he is killed). “ (Al Bukhari vol. 1:35.)

We say to the Israelis that your state is the terrorist state that opens fire on our people. You are first required to arrest your settlers and soldiers. A transcript by Yasser Ghalban (June 22, 2006 pronouncement), a Hamas terrorist leader makes clear how, as with Hizbollah, the liquidation of Jews in Israel by jihad is linked to Hamas’ own universal ambitions: “The Jihad for Allah… is the way of Truth and the way for Salvation and the way which will lead us to crush the Jews and expel them from our country Palestine. Just as the Jews ran from Gaza, the Americans will run from Iraq and Afghanistan and the Russians will run from Chechnya, and the Indian will run from Kashmir.” ( Apocalyptic Muslim Jew Hatred FrontPageMagazine.com | July 18, 2006 By Andrew G. The time has come for the duty of Jihad” (aired on Syrian TV on July 21, 2006).
The one who says ‘we should fight against terrorism’, he is fighting against Islam. We know very well that USA meant no one else by the term ‘terrorists’ but Islam and Muslims and the one who wants to avoid terrorism is avoiding Islam.” Al Muhajiroun (Bakir School of Thought) 6
On Radio Berlin, March 1, 1944, the Mufti, Arafat’s uncle, issued the following call: “Arabs, rise as one man and fight for your sacred rights. Kill the Jews wherever you find them. This pleases God [Allah] and religion [and] saves your honor. God is with you.” (source: The Berean Call newsletter, Israel – Some Historical Reminders 4/1/1991).
Fayiz Azzam in Brooklyn in 1989: “Blood must flow, there must be widows, orphans, hands and limbs must be severed and limbs and blood must be spread everywhere in order that Allah’s religion stand on its feet!” (Dave Hunt’s newsletter The Berean Call (a moment of truth)
6 hours after September 11, 2001, Al-Hayat al- jadida, stated, “The suicide bombers of today are the noble sucessors of the Lebanese suicide bombers who taught the U.S. fines a tough lesson in Lebanon [243 were killed when a barracks destroyed]. These suicide bombers are the salt of the earth, the ties of history …the most honorable people among us.” (Dave Hunt, Judgment Day, p.17)
Shi’ite theologian al-Amili (d.1622) wrote the following (p.213) about jihad war in the Jami-i-Abbasi, his seminal Persian manual of Shi’a Law: “Islamic Holy war [jihad] against followers of other religions, such as Jews, is required unless they convert to Islam or pay the poll tax.” (Atlas shrugs website)
“The ultimate objective of Islam is to abolish the lordship of man over man and bring him under the rule of the one God (Allah). To stake everything you have – including your lives – to achieve this purpose is called Jihad. Prayer, fasting, alms giving and pilgrimage, all prepare you for Jihad” (Let us be Muslims, Sayyid Abul A’la Mawdudi, The Islamic Foundation (Leicester) 1985 page 285)
The Indonesian Islamist cleric Abu Bakar Bashir, after having been charged with complicity in the Bali terror attacks of 2002 was released from prison in July 2006, gave an interview to Al-Jazeera in which he outlined his plans for establishing an Islamic state in Indonesia–”This is the Islamic view of things. We must never compromise, relent, give up, submit to our kafir enemies. We must always keep to the Islamic path, jihad in the name of shar’ia, and never be apologetic…
“Remember that jihad is what brought Islam to power and built our community. There can be no Islam without jihad….” (September 8, 2006 Indonesian Islamist Abu Bakar Bashir: ‘It is Not Democracy That We Want, but Allah-cracy!’)
“Jihad is here. We must wage Jihad against the enemies of Allah here. The enemies of Allah are in our midst. They claim to be Muslims, although they are as far as can be from Islam. They call themselves “reformists” or “preachers,” and say that we support the West. They are hostile to us on these grounds. .. My brothers, the danger is even greater. Even those people have become tools in the hands of the enemies. Unless we face reality with truth, courage, and evidence, and if we do not stop all the transgressors, who try to distort Islam with their claims of reform and their corrupt progress – this will be dangerous. These people have been tempted by the West, and have been employed in its service. We are familiar with their relations with foreign elements. We are fighting them and will continue to fight them, and we will cut off their tongues” (9/25/2006 Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abd Al-’Aziz)
After the British withdrew on May 14, 1948, overwhelming forces from five Arab nations attacked to drive the Jews into the Mediterranean. Egypt’s King Farouk declared, “I cannot and will not tolerate a Zionist state in the Middle East.” (source: The Berean Call newsletter Israel – Some Historical Reminders 4/1/1991)
Yasser Arafat who cause more problems than any one person to date in Israel said it well (DFJ Jul-Aug 2000) “Whether they like it or not, Jerusalem is the single most important element of these negotiations, and Jerusalem will be the capital of the Palestinian state whether they like it or not. And if they don’t, they can go and drink the Dead Sea.” (Yasser Arafat, Chairman of the Palestinian Authority, after a meeting with Prime Minister Goran Persson of Sweden, June, 2000.)
“have no mercy on the Jews no matter where they are, in any country … wherever you are, kill them … and those Americans who are like them – and those infidels who stand by them.” excerpts from a sermon in the Zayed bin Sultan Aal Nahyan mosque in Gaza, official Palestinian Authority television. “Kill Jews and Americans” broadcast by PA (Palestinian Authority, government TV)
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran- “Israel is a blot that should be wiped off the map.” (“World without Zionism” conference in Tehran, October 26, 2005).
Abdel Jawad Saleh, PA’s Minister of Agriculture- “The Jews seek to conquer the world…We must expose the Zionist-Colonialist plot and its goals, which destroy not only our people but the entire world.” Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah on Nov. 6, 1997)
“The battle with the Jews will surely come… the decisive Moslem victory is coming without a doubt, and the prophet spoke about in more than one Hadith. And the day of resurrection will not come without the victory of the believers [the Moslems] over the descendents of the monkeys and pigs [the Jews] and with their annihilation.” (official P.A. Newspaper, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 18, 2001)
Since 1989, historian David Littman has made repeated appeals to the UN Human Rights Commission alerting its members to the dangers inherent in the binding Hamas Charter (circa 1988). Recently Littman elucidated some of key the motifs of Islamic Jew hatred contained in this document which amount to no less than a “direct and public incitement to commit genocide”, punishable under article 4 of the 1948 Genocide Convention. Article 7 contains the apocalyptic hadith (Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6985) referred to earlier—reflecting the annihilationist Jew hatred of Islamic eschatology. As Littman observes, Article 8, “…a blueprint for jihadist terrorism”, is the slogan of the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas: “Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its Constitution; Jihad is its path, and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.” Article 28 targets all Jews: “Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Muslim people: ‘May the cowards never sleep.’” The Charter in its preface quotes Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, as saying: “Israel will exist and continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.” The conclusion has a subheading: The Islamic Resistance Movement is Composed of Soldiers stating that the Islamic Resistance Movement “will only serve as a support for all groupings and organizations operating against the Zionist enemy and its lackeys (…) “The Islamic Resistance Movement adopts Islam as its way of life. Islam is its creed and religion. Whoever takes Islam as his way of life, be it an organization, a grouping, a country or any other body, the Islamic Resistance Movement considers itself as their soldiers and nothing more.” (Front Page website)
The most senior clerical authority for Hizbollah, Husayn Fadlalah has stated, “We find in the Koran that the Jews are the most aggressive towards the Muslims…because of their aggressive resistance to the unity of the faith.” Fadlallah repeatedly refers to anti-Jewish archetypes in the Koran and the hadith: the corrupt, treacherous and aggressive nature of the Jews; their reputation as killers of prophets, who spread corruption on earth; and the notion that the Jews engaged in conspiratorial efforts against the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Fadlallah argues, ultimately, “Either we destroy Israel or Israel destroys us.” (Atlas shrugs website)
According to Sheikh Muhammed Abd al Hadi La’afi, quoted in the official P.A. newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida (May 18, 2001), and Dr. Muhammed Ibrahim Madi, delivering the main Friday sermon on Palestinian TV (April 13, 2001), the Hadith itself states: “The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Moslems make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: ‘Oh Moslem, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!”
“…Their Bible [of the Jews] today has no light and no teachings. Their Bible today is just a bunch of notes that were written down by people who lie about God, his prophets and his Bible… Those who do these kinds of things are the descendants of Abelis, meaning the descendants of the satans… They fabricated a Jewish history book full of promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that He will give them the land of Palestine..” (Palestinian TV, November 3, 1998)
“We won’t allow any Wailing Walls [that the Jews might return to] on our blessed land.” Ismail Haniyeh, a senior Hamas official in Gaza” (The Jerusalem Post, Sept. 12, 2005.)
“My message to the loathed Jews is that there is no god but Allah, we will chase you everywhere! We are a nation that drinks blood, and we know that there is no blood better than the blood of Jews. We will not leave you alone until we have quenched our thirst with your blood, and our children’s thirst with your blood. We will not leave until you leave the Muslim countries.”
“In the name of Allah, we will destroy you, blow you up, take revenge against you, purify the land of you, pigs that have defiled our country… This operation is revenge against the sons of monkeys and pigs.”
“I dedicate this wedding [i.e. death for Allah] to all of those who have chosen Allah as their goal, the Quran as their constitution and the Prophet [Muhammad] as their role model. Jihad is the only way to liberate Palestine – all of Palestine – from the impurity of the Jews… [Hamas website, February 12, 2006]
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad – Wednesday 26 October 2005, “The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world,” the president told a conference in Tehran on Wednesday, entitled The World without Zionism.
“The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land,” he said.
“As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map,” said Ahmadinejad, referring to Iran’s revolutionary leader Ayat Allah Khomeini.
The President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, “as the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map.” “The wave of Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world.” “Anyone who will recognize Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nations fury.”
Excerpts from an address by Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, which aired on Al-Manar TV on January 30, 2007. Israel Is Weaker Than a Spider Web Clip No. 1370
Hassan Nasrallah: I say once again: By Allah, Israel is weaker than a spider web.
The future of Israel is death and perdition. The future of our nation is one of life, freedom, and regaining the holy places. Our martyrs inscribed in blood during the July-August war: Death to Israel.
Crowd: Death to Israel
Death to Israel
Death to Israel
“There is fury, fury everywhere … Islam is escalating and cannot be resisted. I pray that Allah may tear apart America just as the Soviet Union was torn apart …” (Sheik al-Tamimi)
“We have not reached parity with America. We have the right to kill 4 million Americans – 2 million of them children – and to exile twice as many and wound and cripple hundreds of thousands. Furthermore, it is our right to fight them with chemical and biological weapons, so as to afflict them with the fatal maladies that have afflicted the Muslims because of the Americans’ chemical and biological weapons” (Ayman Zawahri, leader of Qaeda-Egyptian Jihad)
The simple truth in all this is that so called moderate Muslims, as defined by their own Sacred Law, as recognized by the OIC, those recognized as “moderates” are apostate. Islam in its roots is a religion of hate, violence, and oppression and IS the greatest threat to mankind as a whole that any alive today has or possibly ever will see.
As Anthony Dennis (Rise of the Islamic Empire and the Threat to the West) warned, “In short, the coming Islamic Empire will be a world power in every sense of the word, whose people will share a vibrant religion and a common Islamic culture. Like its Muslim predecessors, the Islamic Empire of the early 21st Century will also have an appetite for territorial expansion and military conquest. A modern, worldwide jihad against non-Muslim populations and societies complete with nuclear weapons promises to bring the highest casualty rates in the history of mankind. World War III, if it does come, will probably occur between the Islamic Bloc and the Western nations. It will be the deadliest war ever fought by humanity.”
NOT SO IDLE THREATS
A Jewess lawyer has sued President Jimmy Carter for having defamed Israel in his new book, “Palestine: Peace, Not Apartheid”. The ex-president and his publisher, Simon and Schuster, are accused of perpetrating fraud against the Zionist state by misrepresenting facts and encouraging anti-Israeli actions. The lawsuit has no merit and shall of course be thrown out. That is a given. But what is fascinating is the brazen mindset involved. Israel was founded on fraud. The early Zionists, asserted, again and again, that they had no intention of creating a Jewish state at the expense of the Arabs. The Balfour Declaration itself eschewed the use of the word state. Nahum Sokolow, the famous Zionist leader, asserted in the introduction of his two volume “History of Zionism” that “it was never the intention of Zionism to establish a Jewish state in Palestine”. Max Nordau admitted that the term “Heimstaat” (German for “national home”) was intended “to deceive by its mildness until such time as we were ready to announce our real aim”. How can a movement founded on fraud and deception possibly accuse anyone else of fraud and deception against Israel?
As already said, the lawsuit is meaningless. What is meaningful is the increasing arrogance of these people. A man in Australia was just sentenced to three years in prison for insulting a Jew with harsh language. Dissidents all over the world are being sent to prison for questioning the mythical “gas chambers” of Adolf Hitler. Clearly, an evil pattern is emerging. Back in the 1940’s an American rabbi wrote that Jews needed to “fill the prisons with anti-Semitic gangsters”. It was an idle threat in 1944. It is an idle threat no longer.
Ah, “Chief”EOD (Chief of what? Geronimo style historical illiteracy, perhaps?) has risen to the challenge. His references to me as a “brain dead liberal” give a clear indication of where he is coming from. Obviously, he is one of these God-fearing “Love America” (read: love Jew propaganda) pseudo- conservatives who worships Jesus on Sunday while reading Zionist propaganda on the Sabbath. No, chief, I am a conservative anti-Zionist. I do not worship the people who murdered Christ while listening to Caiphas/Dershowitz give me the “true history” of the Holy Land.
Now let me give you the history lesson you so badly need. First, the fact that there was no Palestinian state from ancient times to the present is an excuse for evading the main point – that the long time Arab population of the land never wanted a Jewish state planted on their land. Arguing about whether there was a Palestinian state is about as relevant as arguing that because Poland was partitioned off the map of Europe fromm 1770-1916 that therefore there ws no Polish nation and no Polish people during this time period. Palestinian nationalism arrived about 1920 in response to the Balfour Declaration. Some Palestinians of the post-WW1 era wanted union with Syria; others wanted a separate Palestinian state. They all agreed on one thing, however: they did not want a Jewish stste created in their land. Two American investigators, Charles Crane and Henry King, so reported to the dying Woodrow Wilson in 1919.
The first Palestinian attempt at political representation was the Palestinian Executive, headed by Musa Kazim al-Husseini, the half-brother of Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti. This Executive sent several commissions to London in the early 1920′s to to try to persuade HMG to back off the Balfour Declaration. In the early 1930′s the Executive was replaced by the newly formed Arab Higher Committee for Palestine. It existed in four forms, expiring after the 1948 war when the Arabs of Palestine were dispersed and leaderless. The head of these Committees was usually Jamal al-Husseini, the brother of the Grand Mufti. He made some very impassioned pleas for the Arab case before the United Nations when the schemes for partitioning Palestine were being debated. The next Palestinian attempts at political organization in exile were al-Fatah in 1956 or thereabouts (of which Yassir Arafat was a founding member) and the Palestine Liberation Organization, founded in early 1964 in Egypt under the sponsorship of Abdel Gamel Nasser, about the time that the short-lived United Arab Republic of the union of Syria and Egypt was breaking up. That basically carries the story up to the modern present.
Now let me give you the history of Zionist political organization with which you are surely unfamiliar. It consisted of the World Zionist Organization which had its headquarters in Germany before the First World War but moved to neutral Copenhagen for the duration. When the British assumed the mandate over Palestine under the old League of Nations, the language of the mandate provided that an agency be set up to provide consultation with HMG over Jewish needs in Palestine. This was the Jewish Agency for Palestine, officially incorporated in Zurich, Switzerland after several preliminary conferences in the 1920′s. It had offices in both London and Palestine. It was the pre-statehood government of Israel. It represented the “official” Jewish position to the British mandatory. It also worked in close cooperation with the World Zionist organization. The WZO, in turn, handled Palestinian affairs through its “Inner Actions Committee”, re-organized later as the Political Zionist Executive (PZE). The WZO held annual conferences in the 1920′s and 1930′s, usually in Switzerland in places such as Basle, Lucerne, Berne and Lake Geneva, where the League of Nations was headquartered.
You may have heard of American University in Beirut, Lebanon, founded by the Christian missionary Bliss family, where Arabs were educated for decades starting in the mid-nineteenth century. You may also have heard of Cambridge and Oxford universities, where many Arab members of the anti-Ottoman societies in the 1880′s and 1890′s went for their degrees. As to the economy of Palestine during the centuries, I refer you to Issa Nakleh’s chapter on the subject in his “The Encyclopaedia of the Palestine Problem”. Had you bothered to actually read anything I have already posted, you would already know that during the 16th and 17th centuries the Arabs of Palestine were already exporting huge quantities of wheat to southern France, that they exported huge quantities of cotton to Europe during the American Civil war and that their orange groves in the city of Jaffa and their soap industries in the city of Nablus were already flourishing long before the coming of Theodore Herzl and Zionism.
Finally, let me address the irrelevant flummery about what have the surrounding states done to help the Palestinians. The responsibility for righting an injustice rests with the people who committed the injustice. That is the Jews. Whether or not the surrounding Arab states are behaving responsibly does not absolve the Jews of their original sin. Chief EOD has never learned the first principle of intelligent thinking – and that is to ask the right questions. Instead of understanding that the Arab lion has been enraged by the thorn of Zionism stuck in its paw, he prefers to believe that the Koran is the basis of all evil. The Koran is an unlovely book, surely (although not nearly so evil as the Babylonian Talmud of the Jews). That, however, is not the essence of the problem. And thus, the utterly ignorant, abysmally stupid, Chief EOD buries himself in unlovely religious passages, while knowing nothing about the historical background of what he discusses. As a former U.S. ambassador to the Middle East once stated, “before the creation of the state of Israel, we had not an enemy in the Arab world. Since the creation of the state of Israel. we have not had a friend”. The issue is precisely that simple.
THE BIRD THAT CHIRPS IN HEBREW
We hear constantly of the difference between a “neo-conservative” and a “paleo-conservative”. What is the difference? The difference is the difference between a real patriot and an Israel First, America Last fraud. An internet writer who goes by the name of Max Shpak offers a very useful analogy to illustrate the difference. Shpak refers to the well known phenomenon of a cuckoo bird invading a nest of chicks. The cuckoo imitates the chirping sounds of the birds. The chicks, in the imprinting stage, mistake the cuckoo for their mother. The cuckoo, thus disguised, manipulates and exploits the brainwashed birds. The neo-conservative, in reality an Israel First Jew, joins the conservative camp, chirping about high taxes and getting the government off the citizen’s backs. He drapes himself in conservative rhetoric and tells the human birds what they want to hear. The human birds, thus deluded, welcome the neo-conservative as one of their own. Then the cuckoo starts chirping about a “War on Terror” and the alleged threat of “Islamo-Fascism”. He forgets about reducing taxes and the size of government and instead tweets that the United States should spend trillions of dollars it does not have to fight wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran. In short, he shows his real agenda, “Israel Uber Alles” under the cloak of false conservatism.
That is how to distinguish the “neo-conservative” cuckoo or one of its hirelings, like Glen Beck. To better emphasize the analogy with nature we must turn to an historical analogy. In the days of the British Mandate over Palestine there existed a man named Vladimir Jabotinsky. Jabotinsky is the unknown (to the gentiles) founding father of neo-conservatism. Vladimir Jabotinsky was the advocate of Revisionist Zionism, so-called because it refused to accept the partition of Jordan east of the river from the Palestinian Mandate. Jabotinsky wanted a Jewish state on both sides of the river. He abhorred the large number of Jews involved in Marxist socialism and was an enthusiastic advocate of free market economics. But he also opposed any compromise with the Arabs of Palestine, who he knew would never agree to the planting of a Jewish state in their land. To express his ideology, he wrote two famous essays, “The Iron Law” and “The Iron Wall (We and the Arabs)”. From the former essay he wrote words widely quoted by the students of Zionism. In essence, he stated that the Arabs of Palestine were not savages. They were highly civilized and would never agree to a Zionist state in their land until all hope was lost to them. Thus, the Arabs must be confronted with an “iron wall of bayonets”, to use Jabotinsky’s famous phrase, to coerce their surrender to the unavoidable. Jabotinsky openly admitted that “Zionism is a colonizing adventure and it stands or falls on the use of force”. He proclaimed: “It is important to speak Hebrew but it is more important to shoot.” This is the true origin of the philosophy of the “War on Terror”. It is the Jabotinsky philosophy of perpetual war with the Arabs to ensure the future security of the future state of Israel. Naturally, it would not do to tell Americans that they must fight and die for Israel’s survival. Therefore, a ruse must be concocted. The ruse is to tell Americans that there exists a menace called “Islamo-fascism”. America and Israel must jointly oppose this menace because it threatens both equally. As anyone can tell, this is precisely what has been done.
There are other methods by which Americans can distinguish the Zionist neo-conservative cuckoo from the real thing. Real conservatives are “isolationists”. That is, they do not believe in using America’s military might to police the world. But Zionist neo-conservatives insist that America must police the world – for Israel’s benefit. Zionist neo-conservatives are social liberals. They support open borders, diversity and the tearing down of America as a white country. They do this at the same time that they snarl for war against Iran for Israel’s benefit. Two outstanding examples of this mindset are Senator Charles Schumer of New York and Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut. Zionist cuckoo birds shall hiss with barely concealed hatred of actual conservatives like Patrick Buchanan.
These, then, are the major differences between real conservatives and Zionist conservatives. But the simplest way to distinguish the real thing from the fake is to look for the bird with the hooked beak that chirps in Hebrew.
This should help ChiefEOD understand where his fake conservatism is coming from.
Here is a little primer on the subject. Learn at the feet of thy master.

More for ChiefEOD:
I continue to be amused by the accusation that I am a “brain dead liberal”. As a long-time supporter of Senator Joseph McCarthy’s now confirmed anti-Communist investigations and a fervent supporter of Senator Barry Goldwater’s 1964 presidential campaign, I do not see how I could possibly be that. (And did not the arch-conservative Senator Goldwater later maintain that the Israel First lobby had an unhealthy grip on the Congress and Senate?)
Today conservatives have been sold on the lie that Israel’s interests and America’s interests are one and the same. In short, the right wing has sold out to the state of Israel the same way that the left wing once sold out to Stalin’s Russia. But up to the mid-1950′s the old right wing was throughly aware of the overlap between Zionism and Communism. Senator McCarthy frequently referred to the diplomat Loy Henderson as one of the few patriotic men in the State department. Henderson had been in Russia in the 1930′s and had seen the Jewish commissars of Joseph Stalin up front, in all their murderous glory. When he was transferred to the Middle East he was thouroughly hated by the Zionist-Bolsheviks in mandatory Palestine. He knew what they were – and that they planned to do the Arabs what their cousins in Moscow had done to the Russians and Ukrainians. The Zionists succeeded in getting him tranfered to India. The Communists in Czechoslovakia trained the Israeli air force in Zatec – and thereby allowed the Zionists to win the 1948 war. Hordes of Communist Jews poured through the Balkans after WW2 – with the assistance of Jacob Berman in Poland ans Ana Rabisohn Pauker in Romania – to terrorize the Arabs out of Palestine. All this changed when David Ben Gurion – himself a Marxist from Poland – decided to align Israel with the west in 1953 to gain access to the wealth of the U.S. He did not therefore stop being a Marxist – and neither did large segments of the Israeli population.
You have a lot to learn, Chief. But I am sure that you will continue to get mad at me instead.
John Thames, thank you for doing such a fine job addressing the many proofs of the nature and intent of Islam I listed above. Your response was exactly as expected.
We are arguing two separate points John. You argue against the existence of Israel, I argue the danger Islam presents to the world, including many of its own people – which I believe is the context of this article. As a consequence, we will not get any where.
Chief Dummy Wummy:
You still have not grasped that the nature of Islam has nothing to do with the present problems – and you never will. You don’t have the brains. In chemistry, there is something called a catalyst. Without the catalyst, the chemical reaction cannot take place. Without the catalyst of Zionism planted in Palestine, Islam would be completely dormant.
It might interest you to know that the late Spiro Agnew, Nixon’s vice-president who you undoubtedly admire, became an ardent supporter of the Palestinians after he was out of office and a severe critic of the state of Israel and its lobby in the U.S. You can find the information in Robert Kaplan’s book, “The Arabists”. Do a little reading, Chief Dummy-Wummy, and stop fixating on the Koran as the source of all evil. In fact, just to give you a change of pace, start reading the Babylonian Talmud of the Jews, where you will learn that non-Jews are animals in human form, that Jews are permitted to lie to, cheat and swindle non-Jews, that gentile women prefer copulating with farm animals in preference to their own menfolk, that mothers are entitled to commit incest with nine year old sons, that sitting women on wine casks is the proper way to check for menstruation, etc., etc. That should really rock your God-fearing universe.
ChiefEOD does not understand cause and effect. I do. The Islamic rebellion against the west has everything to do with a Zionist state being planted and maintained in Arab Palestine. As to Islam being bad for Moslems in general, that is none of my concern.
No John, I do understand that quite well. But to think that is all there is to it ignores centuries of history as well as it disregards what Islamic leaders themselves say, what is taught in the Madrasah world-wide…well read the many quotes I listed in my above posts. To ignore what self-declared enemies say of their intent toward you is nothing short of suicidal.
THE REAL THREAT TO YOUR CIVIL LIBERTIES
There is much propaganda about the alleged threat of “Islamo-Fascism” these days. But it is the people screaming about Islamo-Fascism who are the real threat to your civil liberties. These people want you to fight and die on behalf of Israel. Their propaganda about the “War of the Worlds” between the West and Islam is on a par with the propaganda of the British Empire about the evil German “Huns” planning to do the same thing. These people are Israel First Jews and their sycophants. These Jews control the Congress and drive from public office any who refuse to give Israel anything it wants. They destroy the careers of any who dare to speak out publicly against the state of Israel or the Jews. Rick Sanchez, Helen Thomas, Oliver Stone and Mel Gibson are among those who have felt the wrath of Zionism. These Jews, who yap about the dangers of Islamo-Fascism, have passed laws against questioning the myth of the Nazi extermination of the Jews. Throughout Canada and Europe dissidents by the dozen have been imprisoned for questioning the eternal verities of the Nuremberg Trial. Moslem Imams are not yet throwing Americans into jail for swallowing hook, line and sinker the “truths” of America-Israel-Public Affairs Committee.
There can be no doubt that Islam is a harsh, intolerant and war like religion. But that can be no excuse for provoking an unnecessary war with an equally intolerant, militant, aggressive Zionism which has never recognized the right of the Palestinians to their land. In all the propaganda about the evils of Islam, there is never the slightest reference to the amazingly intolerant statements of fanatical Zionism. Thus, Mr. Vladimir Jabotinsky is never quoted on the TV set. “Zionism is a colonizing adventure and it stands or falls on the question of armed force. “ “It is important to speak Hebrew but it is more important to shoot.” The late rabbi Meir Kahane stated that “the Arabs are mad dogs who must be driven from Israel.” The followers of Baruch Goldstein, who shot down forty Arabs at prayer in a mosque, glorified the deed by saying: “He was the sweetest Jew who ever lived”, “We don’t think he killed enough but it was a good start”, “a thousand dead Jews are not worth a live Jews fingernail”, etc. Intolerance and fanaticism are to be charged against the Arabs, not against the Chosen People of Karl Marx.
ChiefEOD:
If you think that Zionism in Palestine is not at the heart of the present difficulties, you probably think that sexual intercourse has nothing to do with pregnancy. Where do you pick up this amazing reasoning capability?
If you think that the Moslem Brotherhood is a problem read this, nitwits.

Dear “Chief”:
(1) Neville Chamberlain was right;
(2) Israel should be wiped off the map.
Excellent, you answered the question before I even asked, thank you. Finally your true nature comes to light, a genocidal maniac. No more needs to be said.
Since the above link did not work, try this one. Essay can be found on posts 38 and 39.

THE STUMBLING BLOCKS OF HISTORY
There used to be the perception in the old British Empire that people had become accustomed to reasoning based on Zionist premises. They were incapable of seeing things through Arab eyes. If this was a problem during the days of the British Mandate it has become infinitely worse in Zionized America. People are so thoroughly indoctrinated with Zionist propaganda that they simply cannot see the issue in any other fashion than Israel’s presumed “right to exist”, combating evil suicide bombers or some such nonsense. The fact that the Arabs of Palestine never wanted a Jewish state in their country simply has nothing to do with it, one supposes. This is when the brainwashed American, indoctrinated with decades of Zionist propaganda, archly inquires: When was there ever a Palestinian nation? Where was its capitol? What were its historical borders? That a people who have been living on the same farms and houses might consider themselves the legitimate owners of the land, especially if they had been living there twenty consecutive generations, is ignored. Such people might not care that they had always been under someone else’s political jurisdiction. They might consider it irrelevant to the main consideration.
More false ideas permeate the American mind. Among these is the idea that the Jews have some sort of inherent “right” to Palestine because of Biblical promises. Forgotten is that the right of the Jews to return was fulfilled under the Persian king Cyrus. A second right to return was never promised by the Bible. Moreover, the Catholic Church taught for a thousand years that all the Old Testamentary prophecies had been voided by the crucifixion. When the Jews rejected Christ as their savior, they lost any claim to Palestine. The Catholic Church at the end of the First World War rejected the Balfour declaration, observing that it was unjust to the Arabs and that the Jews pouring into Palestine were Bolsheviks and Marxists. Americans seem not to realize that Zionism, as an ideology, originated among the Jews of Russia and Eastern Europe in response to political conditions there. These Jews were partially descended from the ancient Khazars, a Finnish-Turkic tribe that converted to Judaism in the Dark Ages. Zionist doctrine never had anything to do with Old Testamentary prophecies. Zionist doctrine was, however, in direct competition with Marxist doctrine for a solution to the “Jewish problem”.
Worse still, Americans believe the Zionist nonsense that Palestine was an empty desert before the coming of the Jews. Such a statement flies in the face of the reports of the Zionist settlers in Palestine back to Zionist headquarters in Europe that every arable acre in Palestine was already plowed by the Arabs. Israeli historians themselves have documented that the Arab civilian population was expelled by force in 1948. Yet Americans continue to believe the Zionist propaganda that the Arabs fled voluntarily in a war which the Arabs supposedly started. The American press, thoroughly controlled by the Zionists, has no interest in informing Americans of the real facts. Thus, the American mind continues to function in a haze of propaganda. The situation is not likely to change because there is no countervailing force to the factors already mentioned.
“Chief the wise man” is unaware of the deep connection between the Communism he abhors and the Zionism that he dismisses as irrelevant to Arab resentment. Here is a book review to help “chief” wise up.
DREAMS OF LONG AGO
The charge that Jews were disproportionately involved in Communism in the pre-World War Two days is so well established that it hardly needs verification. Still, it is interesting to read the ever proliferating admissions of the old charge in Jewish reference works. Hardly a year now goes by without some academic book admitting the enormity of the Jewish influence in revolutionary socialism. The latest example is “Dreams of Nationhood: American Jewish Communists and the Soviet Birobidzhan Project, 1924-1951” by Henry Felix Srebrnik. Published in 2010 the introduction to the volume contains an amazingly frank discussion of the Jewish love affair with Communism. Srebrnik, to his credit, dismisses at the outset of his study the shopworn fiction that Communist Jews were “non-Jewish Jews” “who had repudiated the Judaism of their forefathers… ‘a Messianic radicalism among the immigrant Jewish workers…allowed Communism to appeal to some of the deepest traditions of the community.’ The world of Jewish socialism was a secular one and its discourse radical; even so, its roots lay deep within the Jewish tradition, which, although far from monolithic, has always aspired to improve the world. Though there was much in Jewish life that the Jewish Socialists opposed, from Orthodox Judaism to Zionism, such people did not turn to Communism because they were alienated from the Jewish world, but rather because ‘of their urge to act for the sake of an improved society and to better the condition of the Jewish workers.’ This ‘messianic’ aspect of their ideology would also revive the old Judaic ideal of a return to the ‘land of Israel’ by substituting Soviet Russia for Israel as the new ‘Promised Land’. Such people ‘were imbued with a semi-religious attitude to the USSR’, which had become for them ‘a dreamland of freedom and equality’.”
Having established this key point, Henry Felix Srebrnik then proceeds to document what many other researchers have affirmed – that Communism, 1920-1950, was a thoroughly Jewish movement. He writes: “The Communist movement attracted urban, professional and intellectual elements, and Jews were heavily represented in all three categories, so, as Melech Epstein has noted, ‘a unique environment favored its spread’ among Jews. At its zenith, the CP’s influence on significant segments within American Jewry ‘exceeded anything experienced in other ethnic communities,’ Henry Feingold has asserted. It was estimated that Jews constituted some 15 per cent of the newly created CPUSA; in some cities, a majority of CPUSA were Jewish. By 1931, at least 19 per cent of the Party was Jewish, and its largest district, New York, was overwhelmingly Jewish in its membership. An even higher proportion of Communist officials were Jews: between 1921 and 1938, ‘no Central Committee had fewer than a one third Jewish membership; most were about 40% Jewish.‘ According to some estimates, during the 1930’s and 1940’s, ‘about half of the Party’s membership was composed of Jews, many with an East European socialist background.’”
This would appear sufficient to document the case but Srebrnik provides more information. “Jack Stachel, the party’s national organizational secretary, who was himself Jewish, told the sixth convention of the CPUSA in 1929 that in Los Angeles ‘practically 90 per cent’ of the membership was Jewish…In Philadelphia, the Communist movement drew the bulk of its members from Jewish immigrants or their children…According to Paul Lyons, in the 1930’s, 75 per cent of the membership of District Three of the CPUSA, which included Philadelphia, was Jewish; as one former leader stated, ‘The Jews dominated the district.’ The Communists also developed social cohesion in Yiddish. “By the early 1920’s in the Jewish community ‘one could observe a new, well-organized Communist wing with its own Jewish journals.’ In his study of the American Jewish left, Arthur Liebman has referred to the various Jewish fraternal orders, newspapers, and unions grouped around the Communist Party as having constituted a distinct ‘Jewish left subculture’…Cultural and intellectual organizations proliferated in the Jewish Communist movement. There was the Artef, the Workers Theater Group founded in 1925…There was the Proletpen, the left-wing writers group headed in the U.S. by Shloime Almazov, Paul Yuditz and A. (Isaac) Raboy…And there was the Jewish Workers University, founded in 1926 to prepare an intelligentsia for the workers movement…Choruses were another ‘of the principal cultural activities of Jewish radicals in the United States’…
So writes Henry Felix Srebrnik in the introduction to his meticulously documented study. Interested readers may peruse the entire volume which is well worth the effort. One of the great merits of reading Jewish scholars like Srebrnik is that the research is based largely on documents published in Yiddish, documents which are incomprehensible to the average university researcher. Thus, an entire universe of suppressed facts is opened up. The implications of the facts thus revealed is drastic. They confirm the enormous penetration of Communism within American Jewry for three decades after the Bolshevik revolution. Of course, this American Jewish love affair did not begin with the Bolshevik revolution. It had been present ever since the Jews began disembarking at Ellis Island in the 1880’s. These Jews had been infected with revolutionary socialism in Czarist Russia before they immigrated to America. The seizure of power by the Communists in Russia generated enormous enthusiasm for Bolshevism in the United States. The famous Palmer raids of 1919-1920 were not based on misguided fear, any more than the investigations of Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950’s were based on misguided fear. The fear was real and appropriately targeted. “Dreams of Nationhood” deals primarily with the Soviet Birobidzhan project of 1928 forward. That project had many dimensions. It was designed to create a “Jewish Autonomous Region” (JAR) in the Soviet Far East on the Amur River, adjacent to Japanese occupied Manchukuo. But it was also aimed as propaganda to American Jews.
That is an involved subject indeed, as Srebrnik demonstrates. Birobidzhan was designed to resolve the Jewish “nationality problem” which had so befuddled the Marxist theorists of pre-revolutionary Russia. International socialism was to have resolved the ‘Jewish problem’ by integrating them with other workers. But influential Jewish intellectuals like Nachman Syrkin, Chaim Zhitlovsky and Dov Ber Borochov did not want assimilation under socialism. They wanted Jewish nationality within a socialist federation. The Bund, one of the largest of the revolutionary Jewish workers parties in the Czarist Empire, wanted a “territorial solution” along the lines later encompassed by the Birobidzhan project. And, of course, the Zionists wanted their state in Palestine. All these various currents and cross-currents were carried to the United States by the Jews who immigrated there. In 1928 Birobidzhan was proposed by the newly elected General Secretary of the Party, Joseph Stalin. The Party wanted to reinforce the loyalty of the Jews to Communism by giving them the “Jewish nationality” they had craved. The Zionists in Palestine were running into difficulties because of the recalcitrance of the British Mandatory authorities. Birobidzhan, the “second Palestine” for the Jews, was the solution.
“Dreams of Nationhood” goes into elaborate detail on how the Jews of America set up the American Committee for Birobidzhan “(Ambijan) in 1934 to proselytize for Jewish Communist immigration back to Russia. It had branches in all major American cities and worked in close collaboration with ICOR (the Jewish Association for Colonization in Russia), its Canadian counterpart for the Birobidzhan project. Ambijan was no insignificant operation. It recruited the assistance and support of numerous influential people, Jewish and non-Jewish. Among them were the physicist, Albert Einstein and the Arctic explorer, Vilhjalmur Stefansson. Prominent politicians like Henry Wallace, the Progressive Party candidate for president, Senators Claude Pepper, Warren Magnusson and Alban Barkley were prominent supporters, as was the well-known Communist radical, Anna Louise Strong. Ambijan and ICOR merged in 1946 to coordinate their efforts. Srebrnik reproduces many posters of New York Town Hall concerts sponsored by Ambijan in both their Yiddish and English translations. The Birobidzhan project provoked intense debate within the Jewish community. Some Jews thought it a preferable alternative to a Zionist state in Palestine; others had reservations.
As the creation of the Jewish state approached its culmination in 1948, the Communist and Zionist factions in American Jewry started to hold hands. The Soviet Union, which then stood high in the esteem of the Jews for its role in the defeat of the Nazis, moved toward support of the Jewish state. Joint meetings between Ambijan and the Zionists were held. The general “Party line” of the 1946-1947 period was that Birobidzhan and Palestine were not opposing, but complementary endeavors. Jews could be happy in either Birobidzhan or Palestine; Jews should support both. (Or, as Chaim Weizmann’s mother used to say, if the one son were right she would be happy in Russia; if the other son were right, she would be happy in Palestine.) The Soviet Union did more than just support Zionist Israel with words; she allowed massive Jewish immigration to Palestine through her satellite states in Eastern Europe, particularly through Poland and Rumania. The Czech Communists also trained Zionist pilots at Zatec where they then refueled in Communist Yugoslavia on their way to bomb Arabs. When the state of Israel was proclaimed on May 15, 1948 the Chicago office of Ambijan sent a congratulatory telegram to the Soviet ambassador.
From this point on Ambijan and the Birobidzhan project went into steep decline. Stalin and the Bolsheviks never devoted the necessary funds to develop the Jewish autonomous region and factors in the United States put a severe damper on Birobidzhan. First was the switching of Jewish loyalties from the Soviet Union to the newly created state of Israel; next was the impact of Stalin’s anti-Semitic purges starting in 1950. Last but not least was the beginning of Senator Joseph McCarthy’s anti-Communist investigations in 1950, a fact which led to the closure of Ambijan in 1951. And so the plan of “Palestine in Siberia” came to an end. It was essential to sever and deny the Jewish Communist connection. The two decades lure of Birobidzhan on the Jewish mind faded into the past. Henry Felix Srebrnik freely admits that the story of Birobidzhan has lain dormant for decades. It is not hard to understand why. It is a story that cannot be told without examining the inner workings of Jewish Communism. That, and the difficulty of researching in that strange Hebrew language, is the explanation for the disappearance of Birobidzhan from popular awareness.
“Chief” accuses John Thames of being a “useful idiot”. This is, of course, a reference to Joseph Stalin’s useful phrase. Stalin had many other bon mots, such as “Good words are a mask for evil deeds”, “The Pope? How many divisions does he have?”, etc. In fact, “Chief” is a useful idiot of right wing Zionism. (“Chief”, knowing nothing, confuses right wing Zionism with patriotic conservatism. “Chief” has a lot to learn.)
Why yes, “Chief”. I know all about Eugene Lyons two books, “Assignment in Utopia” and “The Red Decade”. I’ve also heard of Walter Duranty and the New York Times non-reportage of the Ukrainian famine in which seven to ten milion died. I’ve even heard of people like Maurice Hindus, Marquis Childs, Bruce Bliven, Louis Fischer, Dashiell Hammett and Lillian Hellman, Rex Stout (who edited the Communist “New Masses” magazine in between writing Nero Wolfe novels ), the Hollywood Ten Communist screen writers (Dalton Trumbo, John Howard Lawson,Herbert Bieberman, Adrian Scott, Lester Cole, Ring Lardner, Jr., Sam Ornitz, etc.)I even know about Sidney and Bestrice Webb, the British Fabian socialists who wrote that masterpiece: “Soviet Russia: A New Civilization?”
What you have yet to grasp, “Chief”, is that the Jews who sold you the myth of “milk and honey” in Stalin’s Russia are the same Jews who are selling you this nonsense about the threat of Islam. You think you’ve figured it out, “Chief”, but you haven’t. Get a copy of Frank L. Britton’s little booklet, “Behind Communism”, published in the 1950′s. In the final paragraph of the book he answers the question: “Are all Jews Communists?” The answer is no. He then describes how Zionism is an alternative Jewish straegy for conquering the world, just as dangerous as Communism. He further describes the split in the Jewish rabnks and how the Communist Jews suppresed Zionism as “counter-revolutionary”. Now the Zionist Jews are conning you about “islamo-Fascism” when they’re the real problem.
You have a long way to go, “Chiefy”. If you learn to read “He who knows all” maybe you’ll wise up.
