An argument in favor of cloning

October 29, 2008 - 6:01 am - by Roger Kimball

I used to think I was against cloning. In the case of Megyn Kelly, however, I am willing to make an exception. Why wasn’t she allowed to interview Obama himself?  That would have made for very good entertainment.  (Thanks to Instapundit for the link.)

She would make an outstanding press secretary in a potential McCain administration. The thought of her slapping around Helen Thomas and David Gregory just sends all kinds of thrills up my leg!

As long as ACORN has no access to cloning and we all get our very own Megyn, I’m with you.

Truly, she could singlehandedly destroy the left-wing media, if she was Press Secretary.

She would be to the leftist media what General Petreaus was to Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Seriously. Think about the analogy, and realize that she really could do it. She would drive them into mysogynistic, unprofessional insanity, resulting in many everyday women supporting her against the media.

If you ever wondered how to solve the left-wing media that is destroying our democracy, the silver bullet has presented itself….

  4. 5. Oh, bother

It would certainly fit McCain’s pattern of surrounding himself with competent, attractive women.

You do not have a post on this story (yet), but may I suggest you encourage your readers to write to the L.A. Times and encourage them to release the Khalidi tape?

Here is the text of the letter I just sent. I invite you to post it as a template for any interested in following suit:

“I’m writing to request you release the tape of Senator Obama speaking with (or about) Professor Rashid Khalidi.

While partisans will no doubt bicker over the significance of the tape’s meaning, the tape itself holds material of direct importance to the public.

It is in the public’s interest to have all available materials on a given candidate. Indeed, the well-being of civil society depends on the free exchange of information.

Please release this tape so we may have direct access to its contents and may evaluate it solely on its own merits.

Thank you for your kind attention to these vital matters.

    Sincerely,”
