Hege Storhaug, of Norway’s Human Rights Service (HRS), has sent me this amazing photo and asked me to pass it on. I am hereby doing so. However, the photo is probably not a real one but rather, represents the frustrated longing of many people who are eager to stand up to the Iranian President. The American President has not done so. A woman, pictured as a young, lone woman now symbolizes our planet’s hope for freedom from tyranny.
What else is there to say? Well, at least two things.
First, that HRS is in danger and that I will soon write about this. Bruce Bawer has already done so. Please read it. This is very important. HRS is the first, and perhaps the only newspaper in Europe that is focused on the Islamist threat to Europe. European leftists—Norwegian leftists–despise this and have been engaged in a legal cabal to silence it. Shame on them! They are appeasing Norwegian Islamists in their midst who only recently called for “the execution of homosexuals” and who have been “threatening another 9/11 on Norwegian soil for failing to respect Muslim sensitivities.”
Second, that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mrs. Navanethem Pillay, has weighed in with her own special contribution to Israel Apartheid Week by likening South African Apartheid to Israeli Apartheid at a speech before the Permanent Committee on Human Rights of the Foreign Affairs Committee. First, Pillay harshly criticized Italy for its “policies on immigration and what she considers the criminalization of illegal immigration.”
What she is really saying is that Muslims have the right to populate and then dominate Europe and that no progressive country dare stop them. (Shades of Jean Raspail, Oriana Fallaci and Bat-Ye’or!)
No, it’s not real as I have seen it before. If they wanted to be accurate they would have photoshopped her giving the thumbs up; Persian for eff you.
Mustn’t there be Muslims in these countries who have more open ideas? Aren’t there women who want to escape from repression? Hasn’t the Enlightenment penetrated into the edges of European Muslim communities? Perhaps such people are trying to reach out but don’t know where to go. There ought to be organizations to help them.
I’m sometimes hard on Ms. Chessler for her slant on some things, and often think she’s wrong in her assessment. But I concur with her sentiments and especially with her alarm above. We are sliding toward a nightmare that will swallow the world – and those who should know better have gone insane. But unlike Ms Chessler, I don’t look to fairy tales like Muslims fighting against Jihad or empowering Muslim women to help us in this nightmare. Muslims are the problem, and continuing to look to them for salvation is suicidal folly. It is also folly wasting energy trying to save them from the heinous evil Islam is unleashing un the world, nor is it our place to fix their monstrous ‘civilization’ from itself. Islam is unfixable, and Muslims are solely responsible for perpetuating its evil creed.

This piece would have benefited greatly from an examination of Mrs. Pillay’s background and possible motivations.
This photograph will not do any good to any cause. It is obviously fake and shows the level of desperation of Ahmadinejad’s oposition. He goes to new york and from the podium calls for the destruction of Israel and all he gets is a fake Photo which only serves to reduce the credibility of the article.

I’ll play Devil’s advocate on the picture and perhaps someone will have a satisfactory answer. I’m no expert, but it seems to me this could be a real picture. First, Ahmadinejad and the driver are both looking at exactly the same object; if this isn’t the woman shown, what else could have captured the attention of both men at the exact same moment? It must have been significant – and apparently about woman-sized. No? Second, there appears to be a real shadow of the woman’s arm on the front of the vehicle. It is the right size and shape and in the right place. Besides this it looks like an actual shadow, not the image of a shadow superimposed on the image of the vehicle. If this is photo-shopped this is a detail that is usually misplaced, misshapen or totally forgotten. So that implies a high level of skill and attention to detail. But that would conflict with making such a simple mistake as using our “eff you” sign rather than theirs. On this last, I’m quite sure the Iranians are familiar with our sign – Americanisms are well-known and oft used around the globe – and it wouldn’t surprise me that a pro-Westerner would use it. Again, I’m no expert. I’m just eyeballing it. I would like to hear an expert’s take on it.

But it’s essential to try to save them – that’s the only way Islam can be destroyed. But not by asking women to rise up as women and demand rights within the context of Islam, rather by convincing as many as can be convinced to abandon Islam altogether, and stating the reasons why they should. In other words, giving an honest evaluation of the essential tenets of Islam, which makes it clear that it is utterly incompatible with human rights or freedom for anyone.
It’s hard to figure out what these people are thinking. I’ve pointed out endlessly to them the dangers to the left of sticking up for Muslims: the butchering of leftists after the Shah was evicted from Iran, the fatwa against Salman Rushdie, the murder of Theo van Gogh, etc.
