Chesler Chronicles

Earlier today, I was lying on my gynecologist’s table in a highly exposed position when suddenly she said: “You’re probably going to think this is very politically incorrect but isn’t it crazy not to profile? I mean, isn’t it clear who’s doing what?”

I immediately shot straight up and engaged this worthy liberal in a very politically incorrect conversation. (No, she had absolutely no idea what I’ve been writing about).

So: Some things are becoming clear and can no longer be denied. Not even by some liberals.

Jihadic terrorists tend to be Muslims. Atheists are not blowing themselves up nor are Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Ba’haii or Zoroastrians.

Not all Muslims are terrorists; but these days, all terrorists seem to be Muslims.

Terrorists and their handlers are not all motivated by poverty and suffering. Many are often wealthy and educated men.

For example, according to the Wall Street Journal, Humam Khalil Abu Mulal al-Balawi, the Jordanian double agent who recently blew himself up along with seven American CIA operatives in Afghanistan, was a 32 year-old physician. A physician—not a madrassa trained slum dweller. He is now being linked to Al Qaeda in Pakistan. On video, he said: “ We will never forget the blood of our emir, Baitullah Mehsud. We will always demand revenge for him inside America and outside.” (Al-Balawi was shown meeting with the Pakistani Taliban/Al Qaeda and vowing revenge for the death of their leader).

Our own homegrown jihadic terrorist, Major Nidal Malik Hassan, (a Palestinian-American), is also a physician, a psychiatrist in fact. He had money, independence, prestige. His massacre at Fort Hood was not motivated by illiteracy, poverty, or war-related trauma.

Many Westerners find it difficult to accept that a religious war has been declared against the West; that jihadists are ready to die, wave after wave of them, in order to ensure that our way of life is destroyed. Their ideal is Islamic supremacy (only Muslims will rule because they are “superior”) and they want to return to a seventh century way of life, albeit one with cellphones, the internet, and nuclear weaponry.

Moderate, peaceful Muslims certainly exist—but how many are willing to stand up to the jihadists?

For example, according to the AP, only 50 Muslims showed up for a “Muslims Against Terrorism” rally outside the federal courthouse in Detroit where the Christmas Day crotch-bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was being arraigned. Although the local Detroit press estimated that there were 150 protestors there—this is still a very small showing given that Detroit and its suburbs are also known as “Dearbornistan” and boast the largest Muslim community in the United States.

How many European-Muslim leaders protested the fatwa against Salman Rushdie, the murder of Theo Von Gogh, the character assassination of Geert Wilders and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, ore the recently attempted murder of Kurt Westergaard, the Danish cartoonist?

How many Muslim religious leaders in Egypt protested the Orthodox Christmas Day shooting of Coptic Christians as they left church? Or protested the abductions, forced conversions, and the hastily arranged marriages of Coptic Christian female children to Muslim adult males?

How many Muslim religious leaders have issued fatwas against the Islamic regime of Iran for its heart stopping persecution of Iranian dissidents?

Too few, if any.

The danger of not standing up early enough is that we condemn ourselves to a higher body count. If we refuse to (behavior) profile now—we must accept that more airports and airplanes will be blown up, more cities held hostage, Mumbai-style. And, those of us who travel frequently will all have to spend a good part of the rest of our lives standing on line at the airport. And, eventually, at the boat dock, or at the train or bus station.

Nothing can be added to (and certainly nothing subtracted from) such a concise analysis of the situation. Literally, it is a case of “do (it) or die.”

  2. 2. Topnife

    Consider an analogy:
    · Official Catholic doctrine rejects any artificial form of contraception (condoms, birth control pills, as mortally sinful, and forbidden to believers. A majority of “practicing” American Catholics employ these forbidden techniques. These moderate Catholics very rarely speak out publicly against the Church’s dcctrine.

    · Islamic doctrine holds that the Qu’ran is the literal word of Allah, and that the prophet Mohammed’s behavior and example is the model for behavior of Muslims. Islamic doctrine commands that the entire world be converted to Islam, by jihad.

Aren’t Islamists/Jihadists following the direct commands of Allah, as stated in the Koran, and emulating the behavior of Mohammed.
How can a person be both “moderate” and simultaneously be obedient to the Qu’ran and emulate the behavior (lying, cheating, raping and murdering) of Mohammed. Moderates cannot and will not speak out, because by the doctrines of Islam, it is they who are in the wrong.

And when the home-team scores a touchdown, even the most moderate of football fans does not ‘boo’ them.

I would like to see the liberals open their eyes to the behavior of so called “moderate” Muslims. They do not protest because they are in support and agreement with Islam, as was correctly pointed out by Ms. Chesler. To do so would probably put their own families at risk. If Barry Obambi doesn’t identify Islam as the enemy and do all he can to DEFEAT this enemy we will slowly but surely lose the war against Islam. We are already being successfully infiltrated and if Barry gets away with total amnesty and open borders we will be inviting even more terrorists into the country. My answer, probably politically incorrect, is total war against Islam. If the people in Islam practicing countries are faced with potentially being bombed out of their homes they may come to their senses and demand the edge of the sword, the Islamic terrorists, stop their campaign of terror. If they don’t we will at least have eliminated more potential terrorists. Either way it’s win win.

  4. Does 1972 count as these days? That’s when four members of the Japanese Red Army flew to Israel to kill and die. They had nothing to gain for their cause, needless to say. They did it because killing Israelis, they felt, was virtuous. Muslim terrorists also have nothing to gain for their cause. They too feel killing Israelis is virtuous. The Japanese Red Army was part of the Marxist-Islamic Alliance.
Search everybody. Better safe than sorry.

A lot of folks just don’t take the “we will own you” verbage as a real threat. As Rice, UN Ambassador, said to Maddow, MSNBC, “this is not a hypothetical” war. This stuff is for real. ( Maddow looked surprised, got a little snarky) Denial, the progressives are always in denial. *sigh*

  6. 6. HellenoChristian

My Opinion it’s Time to stop calling it a Religion or a Religion war – it is a Political War: let’s choose if we want to live in a liberal Democracy and having Human Rights of men/women/children recognized, or everything denied and live in a Totalitarian Dictature.

Moderates (and Extremists) say Nothing against Terrorists and Terror Attacks, because they always find an Excuse for them – (to them, ModeratExtremists) it is always the Victim to be guilty (even in case of Rape, it is the Victim which is punished!).

The only point I would take issue with is the “peaceful mozlaqms”
How many NICE PEACEFUL Germans and Japanese could have been found in 1942?
It is irrelevent. Further, every mozlaqm has an obligation to jihad or support it. If not, than you are NOT a mozlweem, you are a heretic.

  9. 9. R. Greener

If indeed “…all terrorists are Muslim…” how then do you explain the number of suicide bombers in Sri Lanka – far more than the combined total in Israel and the rest of the Middle East – and NONE of them are Muslims?

  10. 10. LaurAyn

The sad reality is that your liberal OB/GYN is the minority. As evidenced with my experience with coworkers just last night who thought it more important to trash Sarah Palin and her new position with FOX than to talk about important issues of the day. The person doing so just so happened to be a former Monk/Priest. Nothing surprises me anymore.

It is the duty of all Muslims to wage Jihad “until the very stones and trees call out – “Oh, Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me! Come and kill them!” It is the number one goal of Islam to establish Sharia law over the entire planet and make Islam the only religion that is practiced.

The jihad is not necessarily a military venture. Muslims can practice Da’Wa (evangelize), outbreed infidels in a non-Islamic country, make Sharia law valid (among Muslims) in a non-Islamic country, silence the critics of Islam and use oil revenues to buy influence in all of Dar-es-Harb (the land of War, that is any area that is not ruled by Sharia law). “Moderate” Muslims are simply engaging in taquiyya and kitmann, the active deception of infidels. This is halal in the Qur’an, the aHadith, Sharia law and the 1400 years of Islamic scholarship.

Do not expect Muslims to condemn jihad, as to do so is to be announced as an apostate. The penalty of apostasy in Islam is death. The case of Rifqa Bary is a prime example of the death penalty for apostasy. CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood are moving heaven and earth to get the state of Ohio to return this Christian convert to her family so she can be removed from this country and killed.

” The Japanese Red Army was part of the Marxist-Islamic Alliance.”

And the PLO trained under the Viet Cong, and in turn trained the(Marxist) IRA (who also had training camps in Libya). Just this month we have seen the Communist Code Pink together with sworn Reds Ayers and Dohrn in Afghanistan and Cairo, openly supporting the Taliban, the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. Both the Commies and the Jihadis of course fully plan to double-cross the other in good time; but not until the common enemy – US – has been crushed.

It strikes me that you readily distinguish between those who kill by strapping bombs to themselves and those who kill by attaching bombs to the under-wing pylons of their military aircraft. A truly neutral observer is unable to so easily make a moral (or actual) distinction, and instead must concede that both are expressions of military tactics/strategy, not religious or ideological statements.

Also, as a secular Arab with strong ties to Saudi Arabia (somehow I feel my credibility waning on this forum), why should I (or any other) apologize for the actions of these abhorrent criminals you call islamists? To assume that these loonies speak on behalf of millions of people is a conspiracy theory as insulting to Muslims as holocaust denial is to our Jewish cousins (that’s right, Arabs actually consider Jews and Christians their cousins).

  15. 15. Jassem Othman

    @Lao Tzu’s best friend:
Also I as secular Arab, born a Muslim, but I extremely scorn the violent Satanic ideology in Koran. Also I extremely scorn the terrible mentality of Arabs and Muslims.
However, the Message from Allah to humanity (Quran) which brings forth mankind from darkness into light includes a lot of violent verses of the Koran which urging Muslims to Jihad and violence with unbelievers, nonbelievers. That message includes a lot of Scorn and hatred verses and commanding the Muslims to kill unbelievers. Non-Muslims are referred to as the vilest of animals in Islam’s holiest book (Al-Qor-Ann, the Quran, the Koran).
the Koran specifically addresses unbelievers those who don’t believe in Muhammad and in his traditions, especially “Christians, Jews”. And though, we say that Jews and Christians are our cousins, but the Koran denies that!!!
Chapter 005 “Surah” /Verse 051 AL-MAEDA (THE TABLE, THE FEAST)
[O you who believe! do not take Jews and Christians as allies (as friends); these are allies (friends) of one another. Those among you who ally themselves with these belong with them (one) of them. Lo! Allah guided not wrongdoing folk]

Chapter 005 “Surah” /Verse 060 AL-MAEDA (THE TABLE, THE FEAST)
[Let me tell you who are worse in the sight of Allah: (Worse is he) those who are condemned by Allah after incurring His wrath until He made them (as despicable as) monkeys and pigs (whom Allah has cursed and brought His wrath upon), and he who served the Satan "Shaitan"; these are worse in place and more erring from the straight path]

    Lemac wrote:
“How many NICE PEACEFUL Germans and Japanese could have been found in 1942?”

Well, in Germany and Japan you could have found a number of nice and peaceful people, most likely in prisons and concentration camps. Abroads, you could have found some, too – many of them wearing the uniform of the US Armed Forces, mostly German and Japanese Americans, but also exiles born in their respective native country. And to my knowledge, no German or Japanese American has ever committed acts like Major Hassan.

Just briefly after 9-11, I wrote a letter to the editor of my local newspaper in Cologne. What I stated was this:

    - After word spread about the massacre of My Lai, millions of Americans took the streets to protest against an act that they felt did not stand for their America.
    - After the massacres of Sabra and Shatila in the 1982 Lebanon war, one million people (in a country of seven million) took the streets of Tel Aviv to protest against the complicity of the IDF in a massacre carried out by Falangist militia.
    - After a series of racist assaults in Germany in the early 1990s, millions of Germans took the streets in numerous cities, to demonstrate that those who committed these assaults did not represent the nation.
    - Now a lot of people tell me that the terrorists who committed the 9-11 attacks et al do not represent Islam, and that the majority of muslims are moderate. However, I still miss the kind of response by moderate muslims, as have been shown by Americans, Israelis and Germans in the examples mentioned above.
    - And yes, it is probably too dangerous for moderate muslims to take the streets of Teheran, Damascus, Karachi or maybe even Istanbul. But how about making their voices heared in London, Paris, Berlin or Detroit? What dangers might await moderate muslims in these places?
    - But all we hear is silence, if not open support for extremism.

Denying the reality of Islamic terrorism is not helping the situation. A small group of Muslims tried, when the Knickerbomber was taken to court, to speak out against this very thing. They have received death threats for their efforts. They aren’t denying that Islam is being used as a political ideology to benefit terrorism. (names withheld to protect the innocent) Just think if a thousand other Muslims had joined them. So many non-Muslim Americans would have jumped up and down with joy. We would have felt we were being defended by our own in the wake of another attempted attack. We really aren’t asking anyone to criticize Islam, just defend your countrymen, us.

  23. 23. Richard Aubrey

Lao Tzu’s best friend is on to something, in order to hide the important thing.
Suicide bombing is a tactic for delivering ordnance to a target. So is dropping a bomb from an airplane.
    Difference is, the target.
Muslim suicide bombers, and truck and car bombers who leave their vehicles, famously target civilians, mostly other Muslims. See Iraq. Or westerners.
In the west, as Lao Tzu’s best friend has not grokked, this is considered a Very Bad Thing.
Western combat forces target enemy combat forces and take great pains to avoid civilians.
Lao Tzu’s best friend can complain all he likes, but he would be better employed looking for all the Muslim NION (“not in our name” protests after Beslan or 9-11, or the murder of Theo van Gogh, or the Ft. Hood shooting, or the London subway bombing or the bi-weekly murder bombings in Iraq, or Locherbie, or the murder of the recruiter in Little Rock last year, or the Madrid bombings, or the first WTC bombing.

How often do we see this paradigm: A Muslim wants a Christian to be their friend, but the Muslim will not be the friend of the Christian.

To #22:Editrix: Gee, don’t the damnest conversations come up during a gynecological exam? When I’m getting a prostate exam, I’m now talking at all: Just bending over and grinning (er, grimacing).

Now you know the secret of the real difference between men and women. Women will talk no matter where they are, or whatever situation they are in (or position they are in), while men are only thinking of one thing “How the hell do I get out of here as soon as possible?”

Okay, seriously, Phyllis has written a very concise and telling column on just who are the greater majority of the “suicide” bombers.

A couple historical factoids here: There were reports that some Viet Cong performed as human bombs/suicide bombers when they attacked US bunkers, wearing satchel-charges.

The Tigers of Elam (Sri Lanka/Ceylon) were possibly the first suicide boat bombers (again, the VC might have done a few of these too) when they deliberately attacked a Sri Lankan naval base (about 1995) with four speedboats loaded with explosives. Three were sunk by naval gunfire but the fourth got thru with devastating results (long before the attack on the USS Cole, but possibly the inspiration for that tactic).

Moslem terrorists are as mindless re humanity as were the Red Chinese troops who attacked in Korea. Wave after wave attacked over the bodies of their cannonfodder comrades, because they felt that they had the numbers to sacrifice and still obtain victory. (The Japanese used these “banzai” tactics in WW2 as did the Soviets – Stalin used Jewish penal battalions in some cases – See the story of Avram Shifrin and his three wounds, one of which cost him his leg).

However, today there are very few radical groups who use human bombers to achieve their objectives. A few communist groups might do it, such as the Luminoso Sendero (Shining Light) of Peru, the Maoists of Nepal, and the North Koreans, but by enlarge, most terrorist groups don’t use these tactics. They want to stay around to kill again and again.

Moderate Moslems have been silenced by a very real fear of violent retaliation against themselves and their families, re the Hamastan, Michigan rally’s poor showing. This goes back to reported PLO killings in the US during the 1970′s (Gregory Rose?, New West magazine, about 1975).

Terrorists do not play around, do not respect rules of law, or even exhibit any signs of mercy or humanity. The only way to deal with them is to identify them, and then kill them. All it takes is the guts to realize that we have a psychopathological enemy to whom reasonableness is not an option, or even a word in their vocabulary.

Phyllis: thanks for a good column. Keep it up.

  26. 26. Max Friedman

Dear Mr. Lincoln, I agree with you that Muslim will not be the friend of the Christian. But I as secular Arab, born a Muslim, above all I do NOT believe in religions, but I have very much respect to Christianity and Judaism. My friends are just Jews and Christians, I do not like to get Muslims as friends unless is secular Muslims respect and loves the western values. My spirit an Christianity and my heart an Judaism. I risk my life for Christians and Jews. I extremely admire their mentality.

A well thought out and well written bit of commentary, as one normally expects from Phyllis.

But a I have to tell you. That opening paragraph made my head spin.

So help me … I am not going to be able to get that image out of my mind.

Whenever I hear the word “profiling” from now on, I think that in my minds eye I am going to see …

Then again, it’s a more pleasant image to carry around than the smirking faces of jihaddists.

I suppose thanks would be in order, but that would exceed the boundaries of polite conversation.

  30. 30. joeblough

OT but something I feel the need to pass along.

    Have a gander at this:

    Muslim Women Choosing Freedom

Worth passing along in general I’d say.

    30. Jassem Othman:

May I respectfully make a suggestion that I believe would raise your commentary from the level of civilized humanity and moral integrity to the level of the heroic.

(Not that I am unaware of the implicit heroism of your declaration of friendship and good will. There are people around who would kill you for that. Don’t imagine that I don’t know that.)

I read in your words a desire to differentiate yourself from the comment made by David W. Lincoln above.

However, the subject at hand goes beyond considerations of you or I personally, and how people might or might not see us as individuals.

I might have a terrible reputation in my community, but that is ultimately less important than what I do or do not contribute.

It would be very enlightening for the rest of us, who were not brought up in the Muslim tradition, if you could explain the thinking of those who do conform to the directive to avoid friendships with outsiders.

Are they as much the majority as Mr Lincoln (and I) expect?

What are they thinking. What do they say about it amongst themselves.

You may have minute familiar knowledge that would be very instructive for the rest of us — at a human level of understanding.

    In the meantime, my compliments.

“Suicide killers” are not all Mohammedans. Prime Minister Gandhi was murdered by a member of the Tamil Tigers while he was campaigning for elections.
The rationale is terrorism, which goes back to Maximillian Robespierre. See his speech justifying it of February 1794. Also see the Catechism of the Revolutionist by Sergei Nechayev. Those who commit suicide killings are not only evil, but those who support them are also evil.

  33. 33. HellenoChristian

    [Sorry, long Post]

    35. Was Gandhi murdered by a Suicide-killer? Awaay from the politically correct Version of the History, Gandhi’s Peacefulness was something that turned his People (Hindus) into butchered Meat for … Islamic/-ist Groups!

Kidnapping, Raping, Looting, Murdering: this was practiced by Islamic/-ist Groups against Hindus, in India, at the Time of Gandhi, who preached to his People not to seek Revenge or violently respond to Aggressors, but to go for self-Sacrifice.

Alliance between Gandhi and Islamic/-ist leaders was meant to defeat Brits and gain Indian Independance: as soon as Islamic/-ist Groups could, they asked for Pakistan’s Independance (from India), and they asked for the complete Islamisation of Kashmir,

proceeding in massacring (Christians and) Hindus there,

and in India (which Islamic/-ist Groups claim to belong to Islam only!).

    ***

In Islam is Suicide strictly forbidden: the Punishment for it is (the Islamic) Hell.

On the other Hand, Suicide while murdering Others is – not just – allowed, but even encouraged! This will be rewarded with (the Islamic) Paradise.

    ***

There is an enormous Difference between Islamic/-ist Mentality and Behaviour as a whole, and other kind of Terrorism,

even – if I agree with you – Terrorism is globally usually applied by Totalitarian Ideologies,

in order to force their Totalitarianism on Others.

In the West – a part of Islamists – there are so called – Leftist – “Urban Guerrillas”,

which are engaged in vandalizing, destroying, damaging Things – the World -,

in order to advance their anti-Western, anti-White, anti-Capitalist, anti-Liberal Totalitarianism,

and whose Members are Today allied to … Islamists [*].

[*] Leftists and Islamists already allied in Iran, before 1979, against “the Shah”, and we all saw how Things went on ….

  34. 34. MiamaMan

    36. HellenoChristian:

I think PAthena was referring to Rajiv Gandhi, son of Indira, assassinated by the Tamil Tigers while being Prime Minister of India. Thenmozhi “Gayatri” Rajaratnam, the assassin, was indeed a suicide bomber.

Not to the Mahatma (Mohandas Gandhi, BTW no family connections to Rajiv, was never Prime Minister of India). You assertion here is correct though, as the Mahatma’s pacifism was one of the main causes of India’s partition, and finally created more violence (about 1 million civilian casualties) than were the Hindu majority to oppose partition militarily.

  35. 35. RRWEst

“Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil.” Thomas Mann courtesy of the Jawa Report.

What distinguishes Islam from all other creeds is that it threatens death to those who oppose it or leave it.

Death is the perfect deterrent from exercizing freedom of conscience and rational thought. Hundreds of millions of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and others around the world use these abilities, yet Muslims are hampered by over one thousand years of what can only be called brainwashing from doing the same.

War has been declared, yet apologists will seek any means to prevent the west from getting into another world war. I’m sorry, but this war had been declared over 1,400 years ago, when the founder of Islam made jihad a required practice of the faith.

Its time we wake up to that fact and act accordingly. After all, the enemy is.

  36. 36. Lao Tzu's best friend

    @Richard Aubrey…

I’m no apologist for criminal suicide killers, and I certainly accept that coalition forces do not actively target civilians whilst conducting the “War on Terror” campaign.

However, you in turn must accept that a large number of civilians have been killed (and much property destroyed)in the guise of “collateral damage”. That they were not the “intended” recipient of the military carnage seems somewhat irrelevant after the fact!

So you see my original point: Since such a shocking number of innocents have been killed on both sides, from what evidence do you derive your moral superiority?

Let us not forget World War Two, the largest conflict in history, in which millions of people were killed, which culminated in the attempted extermination of the Jewish people, did not have anything to do with Muslims.

I find the historical erudition and accuracy on this site very weak, and see little evidence to support your wild claims of a wide ranging Muslim conspiracy. On reflection, there’s considerably more evidence to support the idea that Iraq was targeted in a conspiracy to defraud that sovereign state of it’s large oil reserves…

  37. 37. joeblough

One occasionally needs to reflect on what people are fighting for.

As for example the difference between shooting a rapist to defend oneself vs holding a woman at gunpoint for the sake of getting laid.

It is always too easy to overlook the obvious.

The death of innocents and the destruction of the property of innocents is one of the reasons one avoids the commencement of war, as such things must inevitably follow and are much to be deplored and regretted.

However there are those in the world for whom the death of innocents and the destruction of the property of innocents is their goal and raison d’etre.

Such people must be destroyed if humanity is to survive with any degree of individual dignity. And it is one of life’s most poignant ironies that destroying such people is almost always attended by destroying many innocents around them in the process.

The jihaddis, their supporters and their masters are absolutely in the category of destroyers who destroy for the sake of destruction, and for the sake of the power which fear confers.

I will add that the “sovereign” states of the middle east are mere dictatorships that have no legitimate claim to governance. Neither do they have any claim to the oil that lies under them.

To displace an Arab dictatorship for the sake of keeping oil which rightfully belongs to the west is the most natural thing in the world.

Although I don’t see the west helping themselves to the spoils of battle as they well might after the definitive defeat of Iraq.

The Arabs have no more claim to the oil that lies under them than I have to the bakery down the street from my apartment. Proximity does not confer ownership.

Neither does intimidation of a peasant populace throught the power of arms or frightening ideology confer sovereignty.

We of the west are far too bashful about asserting our rights or the superiority of our way of life.

It is a pointless, excessive courtesy which is rarely reciprocated.

The raw and undeniable fact of the matter is that the ordinary mohammedan man in the street would be far better off in the conduct of his daily life if the west were to throw off our silly aversion to conducting an empire and simply take over his country.

I certainly don’t see the Germans or the Japanese suffering as a result of American intervention.

All societies are not created equal.

    Neither are all wars.

    Phyllis,

Maybe set the articles aside for an hour or two before rereading it to see if that’s really what you want to say. I mean really – talk about stumbling right out of the gate! When I was in high school we used to say, “That’s too much information!” By a ton.

    Lao Tzu’s best friend 15 & 40:

You are truly an idiot but let me spell it out for you: we are morally superior because we don’t kill people just because they won’t worship a psychopathic moon god and his pedophilic, murdering, thieving wack-job of a prophet. Good so far? Okay: We only fight wars when people try to kill us or those too weak to defend themselves (in those cases when we can intervene). Still with me? Alright, now try to keep up: the difference between unintentional civilian casualties and intentional civilian casualties is …. wait for it …. INTENT. This is a MORAL difference. Thus moral superiority. You’re right, the people are dead either way, but the ability to distinguish between unintentionally killing civilians while trying to stop the systematic murder of an entire group of people (e.g. the Jews, Koreans, Kurds, Infidels) and let’s say …. oh …. systematically murdering an entire group of people (e.g. the Jews, Koreans, Kurds, Infidels) IS CALLED MORALITY YOU MORON!!!

Lao-tzu would smack you upside the head.

    40. Lao Tzu’s best friend: [I find the historical erudition and accuracy on this site very weak, and see little evidence to support your wild claims of a wide ranging Muslim conspiracy. On reflection, there’s considerably more evidence to support the idea that Iraq was targeted in a conspiracy to defraud that sovereign state of it’s large oil reserves…]

Wasn’t Winston Churchill the one who said Iraq was the most ungrateful country on earth?

Therefore, your erudition must be evident! At least to you.

If Iraq was targeted in this nice “conspiracy” why the US does not get a drop of oil from it, not even when gas was $4/gallon, and China, yes China, gets the largest contract to develop a gigantic oil field?

I wish the US would rape Iraq’s oil, for once. So all conspiratorial, tea-drinking, cigarette-smoking Arabs would be finally right.

As for a “wide ranging Muslim conspiracy”, you are right, it does not exist, as Islam is conspiratorial by its very nature, by its intolerance, cruelty, disregard for women’s right, backwardness, diabolical tenets, as exemplified by The Lord of the Nations’ deeds behind the Loony Prophet.

I agree with some of what you (collective) say about the problems of intolerance, cruel and brutal governance, and unequal rights for women and homosexuals in the Middle East. These ugly things feature prominently in the cultural history of the West too (and are still very prominent), hence I’m no so sure that it’s a ‘Muslim’ problem, and more a product of the human condition…

    @logos1j1…

As for morality (unfortunately a very subjective topic), the majority of people on this planet believe that killing is immoral. I think most people would also say that justifying your actions with such a weak argument as “I didn’t mean to” is an insufficient defense – try it in a court of law in any land.

Actions speak louder than words, and I think the military intervention in Iraq speaks volumes.

On the subject of passenger profiling (i.e. singling out anyone with brown skin for special interrogation), I have a dream that one day people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

I have to note that most of Islamists or Apologists of Islam/-ism abound of very philosophical and ethical Concepts (“will not be judged by the color … but by the content …”) – neverthless they are (practically) still following and supporting an Ideology which is most discrminating, racist, misogynist, and against Humanity as a whole (Islam/-ism). [A Proof among others: "Cairo Declaration" vs. "Universal Human Rights' Declaration".]

It’s good to see honest and bold condemnation of Muslim slaughter of Muslim women. At the same time it’s noteworthy that Chesler Chronicles has never treated the hoax of “Srebrenica” in the same way. It is as phony as “Jenin”.

“Where are our men?”. Furious Bosnian Muslim women stage protests. “SREBRENICA” + 7 MONTHS ON.Web posted at: 11:30 p.m. EST (0430 GMT)

TUZLA, Bosnia-Herzegovina (CNN) — Thousands of Muslim women refugees vowed to take their protest over missing relatives to Sarajevo to pressure the Bosnian government into action.
After their third day of protest this week, the angry women said they would leave Tuzla Friday morning on buses bound for Sarajevo.
They accuse their government of betrayal and WANT TO KNOW THE WHEREABOUTS OF a many as 8,000 MEN MISSING SINCE LAST JULY FROM THE EAST BOSNIAN TOWN OF SREBRENICA. The protesters occupied offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Tuzla on Tuesday, smashing windows and office equipment. Red Cross activities were back to normal on Wednesday, after vandalism by the women was repaired, Red Cross spokesman Laurent Fellay said.
On Thursday, about 3,000 women marched on a local government office, many of them weeping and shouting, “WHERE ARE OUR MEN?”
Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic urged the refugees not to make the trip to Sarajevo. He promised to come to Tuzla next week to DISCUSS THE WOMEN’S CONCERNS.”

Regarding Muslim women in Sarajevo, now cleansed of most Jews, Catholics, and Orthodox Christians, I urge all to do some independent GOOGLing of your own for: “HIJAB” (head gear] and SARAJEVO. See IMAGES, too. In ads for wedding dresses for Muslim brides all female faces/heads are cropped from the photos. Polygamy is back — with all the trimmings. — Saudi Wahhabis are all over the place.
