The Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Party Prepares for War

Muslims, doing what they do best

Here we go again. In the wake of Sept. 11 — an atrocity wholly attributable to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which provided most of the hijackers and whose evil Wahabbist ideology offered the emotional and “religious” justification for mass murder — the Bush administration did almost everything wrong: attacking Iraq, trying to “nation-build” in Afghanistan, creating the ludicrous Department of Homeland Security and its idiot stepchild, the Transportation Security Administration, appointing a useless director of national intelligence, and establishing the Big Brother security state that Barack Hussein Obama is now exploiting to spy on the very people he is supposed to lead.

Deceptively running on an “I’m not Bush” platform, Obama has merrily presided over the third and now the fourth terms of the Bush administration — a cause in which he is happily joined by the likes of Arizona Senator John McCain and his mini-me from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, two of the charter members of the Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Government that has been in power in the U.S. since 1988 and shows no signs of lessening its choke hold on the nation.

And now this. In a development rich with irony, the Winter Soldier himself, John “Mr. Eighteen Weeks” Kerry — who returned from Vietnam with almost as many medals as Audie Murphy, and in record time — has now declared that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against its Islamist rebels and thrown the latest hot potato over to his boss — who’s characteristically dithering. Still, with Obama’s proclaimed “red line” against the use of chemical weapons by the Bashar Assad government, and the cheerleading from the McCain side of the aisle, there seems little doubt that the U.S. is about to enter yet another war in the Middle East. What could go wrong?

How about this item in Forbes:

Moscow urged Washington on Sunday not to repeat “past mistakes” in the Middle East when dealing with the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Bashar Assad.Washington said Assad used it before. Russia said they did not.

Doctors Without Borders and Syrian opposition say that more than 300 people died after the alleged toxic gas attack in an eastern Damascus suburb on Wednesday, but Syrian authorities denied the claim.

Of course. Why make this black and white?

Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Sunday that President Barack Obama has told him to “prepare options for all contingencies” while the White House is deciding whether to use military force against Syria, according to various U.S. news agencies.

Shortly after that news broke, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the alleged chemical attack could have been a staged “provocation” by the Syrian opposition and that the U.S. might use it as a pretext to go after Syria.

“All of this makes one recall the events that happened 10 years ago, when, using false information about Iraqis having weapons of mass destruction, the U.S. bypassed the United Nations and started a scheme whose consequences are well known to everyone,” the ministry said in a web-posted statement.

There were never any weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq. And numerous reports by the U.K. and U.S. government at the U.N. were actually old information, some of it even plagiarized.

From Russia’s view, President Barack Obama is just another Middle East war-loving George W. Bush.

A senior Russian lawmaker said Sunday that Obama was a George W. “clone”.

“Obama is restlessly heading towards war in Syria like Bush was heading towards war in Iraq. Like in Iraq, this war would be illegitimate and Obama will become Bush’s clone,” said Alexei Pushkov of the international committee of the Russian lower house, according to Forbes.

Bush was indeed a bitter disappointment. He blew several opportunities to bag Bin Laden and other top leaders of Al Qaeda for fear of political fallout if Americans died. Then he made things worse by invading Iraq, with insufficient troops and without the ruthlessness necessary to hold the region together by all powers since the Babylonians.

Not content to waste trillions playing army, Bush pushed through a number of social programs (like the prescription drug program that was a disaster) but grew government across the board not counting the DHS and TSA. Meanwhile, he did nothing but talk about real issues like the mortgage crisis, something that might have been avoidable had he used the bullypulpit of his office to ran through reform as he rammed through the DHS.

If we had put the money wasted on Iraq into rush programs for domestic oil production and new generation nuclear power plants and lean burning car engines we could have written off the Middle East and left Europe or China to deal with them.

I have read nearly every column on nearly every news website in this country regarding the subject of our involvment in Syria and you sir are the only writer who gets it. Be prepared for the ridicule that is sure to come your way for having the courage to speak the truth about what our nation has descended into.

For the very first time in my life I agree with the Russkies. The US has been wasting time, lives, and treasure ever since we had the bad idea of electing yet another Bush, the anti-Reagan Republicans that govern like Democrats. Except for that brief period when Gingrich was the Speaker, we have been under Demokratik rule since 1993 and perhaps since Ronald Reagan left the White House. I don't know about you but I have enough of this. I am eagerly looking for a miracle: a group of brave men like our Founding Fathers that I support with a clean conscience. I am tired of this fog and I am tired of being used. I love America and I want her back on track. The present POTUS may prefer not to waste this crisis. Nothing would please him more than American arms helping Al Qaeda in Syria and even in Egypt. I've got the feeling that his downfall is near. If those nuts plan to dominate the world--as shown in the photo above--be aware that my neck of the woods is going to be quite expensive to dominate.

The nations of the West have been sleepwalking for a long time now. They pretend that Islam is the same as other belief systems. They pretend that Iran can be negotiated out of making good on its promise to nuke Israel. They even pretend, in private, that the destruction of Israel would remove the major roadblock between them and the Moslems; just give them the Jews and everything will be ok.

Meanwhile, nothing of substance is being done. The free world's policeman, the United States, even tried to civilize Iraq and Afghanistan, hopeless projects from the start and both now both sinking into failure.

So let's sleepwalk some more. We've done this before, with all the reality denial about Hitler and the Nazis, and the other fascist countries. Will Israel be the modern Sudetenland, a sacrificial lamb that doesn't sate their appetite?

Remember that the Holy Prophet Mohammed is 1,400 years old with a sustained track record of success. Hitler was a johnny come lately with an isolated industrial base and a handful of big plans. This time even if were to awake from the sleepwalk, solving the problem will be a hundred times tougher.

I'm beginning to run on empty. Some of us have been screaming about this for over 40 years. Some of us are even trying to DO SOMETHING about this bovine waste.

The only advance we have made is creating our own echo chamber here on the internet.

What are WE going to do? I have an idea...how about running for office, every office at every level. Live in a super-lib area? Can't win, jousting at windmills? Not a problem. Have you ever seen a nature film of Octopi? When poked they pull their arms in and roll up into a ball (Perfect for catching and making calamari). Attack, attack; make them spend their time, energy and MONEY in defense. Run against them. Even if you don't win, you get the message out.

Another idea. Some of us could band together, form a "Not for Profit" or even straight up corporation and buy some local media. Hell, as badly as the alphabet networks are doing, buy one or two of them, then challenge the narrative. (Note, Not for Profit is different than Non-Profit). No guts no glory.

Tea Party. Guns. Bibles. Constitution. Limited government. (all that is to help NSA find me.)

Yes sir. These are the times that try men's souls. Our forefathers fought the superpower of their times without sufficient weapons, without a navy, with scarce powder and ordnance. RESIST!

John Kerry is going to negotiate a peaceful settlement between Israel and the Palestinians and the Middle East will finally be at peace and all of our problems will be solved.

Or something.

Great thoughts! I too agree. However ahem a slight eeensy weeensy teeensy improvement to your label "Permanent Bipartisan Fusion Government" needs to be made. We should substitute the word "Tripartisan" for the word "Bipartisan". The third leg of the Fusion Government being the frozen American electorate. The simple brute fact Americans cannot avoid is that the Federal political landscape is overwhelmingly endorsed by the electorate, year after year after year. Yeah great thoughts Michael but so long as you ignore the fact that next year or the year after the same old same old geriatric hogs will be elected back into office, your analysis is a waste of time. While even people like Sarah Palin campaign for people like John McCain, there is no point whining about the system you've got! Just get used to rolling around in the manure as your moral pronouncements and clever analyses become more and more vacuous.

The stated goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is to "destroy America from within", via their political jihad warfare. How does its evil twin physical/terror jihad, fit into that goal?
Islam has been telling us repeatedly that we have an existential threat; the same exact threat that it uses against Israel. While Israel has Islam bordering it on every side; this latest little dry run to test international response to chemical weapons use could also serve a double purpose as a distraction technique. We are not bordered by enemies like Israel; so how would an attack on our shores be accomplished? Where would our enemy Islam be concealed enough to get close enough to us? They've already done at least 2 dry runs to test our responses:
1. Coastguard off the West coast found small unmanned "submarines" being navigated close to shore; possibly for use in smuggling drugs from south America.
2. It was a surprise to us when Russia managed to get subs close to our shores without being detected.

Something about the Syrian use of chemical weapons smells like a distraction ... and Russia weighs in with its warning that the U.S.A. would be acting illegally if it bypasses the U.N. security council and attacks Syria.
Russia is also vested in the destruction of Israel; especially now that Russia's natural gas sales to Europe are threatened by massive natural gas discoveries in Israel waters and their possible sale of that gas to Western Europe.
When engaging the ME ... we better not forget that our own shores are vulnerable to attack from a very powerful and capable enemy.

Well said, Mr. Walsh. You nailed it.

Who cares if Assad used chemical weapons against Al Queda affiliates ?

Some people just need killing, and leave it to our "Community Organizer in Chief" to side with the people that need killing.
