The Real Housewives of Benghazi
Just a week after the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama II as, unaccountably, president of the United States, the full extent of the looming disaster is beginning to dawn on the American people. Forget the looming fiscal cliff, the Senate majority leader’s irresponsible decision to exclude the soon-to-be-bankrupt Social Security system from any budget agreement, the retention of the corrupt Eric Holder as attorney general, or the bruited nominations of the inept Susan Rice as secretary of State, the arrogant John Kerry as secretary of Defense, and the incompetent John Brennan as the new director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Those things, if they come to pass, will cause us plenty of heartburn down the road to Alinskyite serfdom.
For now, though, simply consider the state of the U.S. military, whose moral collapse was signaled by the surprise resignation of CIA director David Petraeus last week as details of his affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell, slowly became public — a scandal that quickly ensnared Gen. John Allen, the U.S. commander in Afghanistan, and another woman, Jill Kelley. By now, you’ve read most of the salacious details of this French bedroom farce, which would be funny if it weren’t so serious — with one door at Centcom after another flying open to reveal lissome bare-limbed married ladies and half-uniformed generals scrambling to get their pants on as the press explodes in orgiastic satisfaction. With its mission accomplished — getting Hussein re-elected and condemning America to four more years of potentially fatal economic disaster, foreign policy malevolence, and domestic fascism in the form of Obamacare, bureaucratic regulation, and executive orders, the media is only too happy to start poking around in the bedrooms of the soon-to-be-formerly famous and powerful.
It’s richly ironic that after celebrating a Democratic Party campaign that was almost entirely based on explicit appeals to female sexuality, including free birth control and the abortion of the inconvenient as a constitutional right, the media now finds itself back in the drag of Tom Wolfe’s Victorian Gentleman, prudishly cluck-clucking over the remarkable fact that when institutional barriers between men and women break down — barriers erected not out of sexist animus or irrational prejudice, but in recognition of the biological reality of boy meets girl — all sorts of things start to happen. Including rampant sexual activity from the top down; as David French observes here:
In the military — as elsewhere — sexual scandal is simply called “drama,” and “drama” (with its related fights, substance abuse, and sometimes even suicide attempts) can dominate military justice in deployed environments. During my deployment, I was with an all-male combat arms unit on a small, isolated base and thus missed most of the controversy that sometimes consumed entire units. But go to Balad — or one of the other larger bases — and it was everywhere. The larger DFACs (dining facilities) were the deployed equivalent of singles bars, and the omnipresent port-o-pot was a favorite location for clandestine couplings.
Whoever decided that “women’s liberation” required the sexual integration of the armed forces did his or her country a signal disservice.
In the Petraeus case, leaving aside for the moment the effects these liaisons dangereuses will have on the four families (or more) involved, let’s look at the fallout: potential major security breaches at the highest levels of the Intelligence Community, the compromising of the Afghanistan war effort — an effort doomed to failure in any case by Obama’s insistence of giving the Taliban a firm exit date — the ending of prominent careers, the mystery of the FBI investigation and what really triggered it, and the laugh-in-your-face attitude of the Obama administration, which has been holding Petraeus’ infidelity over his head since his appointment at CIA and dropped it on him the same week the election was over. And now the president can drop one shoe after another, cleaning house of useful idiots like Petraeus and Hillary Clinton and installing his ideological apparatchiks in high places in the face of toothless opposition from a defeated and dispirited establishment GOP.
The silver lining, of course, is that l’affair Petraeus might lead the MSM to finally notice a scandal that, by rights, could bring down Obama, the same way that Watergate (summer of 1972) eventually ended the presidency of Richard Milhous Nixon in 1974. There are so many outrageous elements to this story — the deliberate abandonment of an American ambassador on a murky mission in a dark and savage land, the order to stand down to the military, the Agency’s callous attitude toward its own people, the loss of top-secret intelligence, and the revelation that the Benghazi “compound” was in fact a very politically inconvenient CIA station and possible prison — that it’s easy to lose track of them all (which is something you can bet the Obamanauts are counting on, in the same way the public was eventually confused and exhausted by all the Clinton scandals).
But then sex reared its seductive head, some members of Congress finally woke up from their long, media-induced slumber and now, with hearings in both houses of Congress looming, we finally might begin to get some answers. If a few marriages and careers are the price we have to pay to see that ambassador Stevens and his murdered colleagues finally get some semblance of justice, so be it.

The Obama-loving media is going to go after Obama the way the Nixon-hating media went after Nixon?
In a word: no.
Anyone who thinks the death of an ambassador will bring down this president is kidding himself. The media isn’t concerned about the military. As for the sex scandal: it’s ONLY sex and it was between consenting adults. (At least that was the excuse given for what the Left had deemed to be sexual harassment when it was done by someone other than a Democrat president.) Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
The media may enjoy this story but Obama has a coat of teflon that Bill Clinton would envy. The press may destroy the CIA in the process of covering this story but our president’s behind will be protected.
Yes, O is the Teflon King. Nothing will stop the media from protecting him because he’s their guy.
Forget the media. The media has no vote in the House of Representatives on Imeachment.
2013 – Impeach Obama in the House
2014 – Republicans take the US Senate
2015 – Republicans convict Obama in the Senate
or, let the schedule be accelerated.
THEN after being CONVICTED of “High Crimes and Misdemeanors, Treason(giving arms to the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Quaida) he is sentenced to LIFE in Leavenworth. That is the “optimal scenario”.
Wow, the election has made the wingnuts even crazier than before. Who woulda thought that was possible?
Dream on. It takes 67 to convict. And if there are 51 GOP in the senate, they’ve going to be scared wet to go after the ‘first black president’. It doesn’t matter if he shoots somebody on prime time TV, he’s not going to be convicted. Not by the senate, anyway.
There’s no way Obama would resign due to shame – he has none, unlike Nixon. He’s probably outlining his new book now, showing all the laws he has broken and not even a bloody nose.
If anything is going to be done in Congress, the GOP needs to get rid of Boehner and McConnell first. No Compromises!
Probably more like this:
2013 Impeach Obama
2013-2014 Media pounds Republicans for attempting to attain through impeachment what they failed to attain through elections.
2014 Democrat landslide in the House and Senate
2016 The first female President in Hillary Clinton
As long as the media remains as it is, there will be no impeachment. Hell, I’m not sure there will be another Republican president in my lifetime. Certainly not a conservative one.
Said it before, sayin it again: We’re f****d
I think there is a chance at a conservative president in my lifetime. At only 40, I hopefully have many decades ahead.
But the only way we can achieve it is if we face the challenge correctly. Which means we have to attack the MSM and the culture first. If we continue to ignore the damage that the MSM and celebrities can do to conservatives and instead just focus on beating Democrat politicians in elections; then we will continue to lose ground in the long run.
In my opinion, we shouldn’t be asking if this is the chance to impeach Obama. We should instead be asking what did the media know and when did they know it. Then use those answers to discredit, on a scale large enough to reach the passive audience (low information voters), the MSM.
If you really think the media has no say in impeachment, you really need to start learning about the real world.
The last heroic service General Petraeus can do for his country: open his mouth and tell the truth about everything. It would be his only possible redemption.
Tru dat! But even then I’m sure we’d get a barrage of moral outrage from the immoral press corps….”we can’t trust this guy…he cheated on his wife”.
In your eyes and mine. But this country is so far gone, so “very, very postmodern, don’t you know,” that there is little if any regard for right and wrong or honor and dishonor in the general population. Witness our completely corrupt MSM, our degenerate popular culture, and the miscreants that populate Washington, D.C.
The decent class is shrinking by the day. The long march through the institutions, the welfare state, and culturally-dilutive mass immigration has borne, is still bearing, its noxious fruit.
Having spent a few years as a “disgruntled former employee” I can tell you it isn’t an assignment I’d encourage anybody to volunteer for. You’re simply not going to play kiss and tell with a Democrat government; the slime machine will inundate you. The only thing, the ONLY thing, Petraeus can do is try to protect himself from them coming after his reputation, his rank, and his retirement.
If I had to do it over again, I’m not sure what I’d do, but it wouldn’t be resign and play kiss and tell.
The sex scandal story will actually be used to ignore Benghazi. The details that is being talked about are the attractive ladies, the sleazy generals, the creepy FBI agent… but no talking about Benghazi. Benghazi won’t be mentioned in the MSM until it is old enough to be safe, preferably after the 2016 election.
Without a media willing to put pressure on the President and Democrats, Benghazi will go the way of Fast and Furious. The President will stall and invoke executive privilege and the MSM will remain silent or accuse Republicans of being on a witch hunt due to racism.
Anyone that thinks this sex scandal will lead to impeachment of Obama is deluding themselves.
I expect when the full story is finally out, it will be revealed that the MSM already knew about Petraeus’ affair, and suppressed it prior to the election so as to help Obama over the goal line.
Dude, they DID know. It was an open secret in the beltway, and even I, lowly military spouse of an enlisted man far away from the core of power, had heard whisperings. There is no way the plugged-in media was unaware.
Yup!
Hoisted on ones petard may be the real outgrowth, of the salacious reporting by left wing media.
On the one hand, Benghazigate is a dead letter to the media, at least in relation to dead Americans, as well as its explosive reverberations all over the Mid East & beyond.
And it is not as if the legacy media doesn’t know, who the beneficiaries of Samantha Power’s R2P (the real thrust behind the re-shaping of the Middle East order, in the service of the Muslim Brotherhood Mafia, and its Al Qaeda offshoots, so ordered by the Islamist-in-Chief) really are, and why it should matter.
The Islamist-in-Chief will eventually become ensnared – as will his surrogates – in a mischief making policy of his own making, which was effectuated WITHOUT Congressional approval!
The fact of the matter is that he went to war in Libya and Syria too (the Brotherhood & Al Qadea are his beneficiaries, of the weapons running operation for the ‘Syrian rebels’, which was the whole point of ‘leading from behind’, and the upending of Qaddafi & Mubarak too)and the media should have reported this!
No matter. When all is said and done, a compliant media is a complicit one – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/08/01/what-happens-when-a-compliant-media-ceases-their-due-diligence-thus-parroting-officialdoms-narratives-commentary-by-adina-kutnicki/
They have gotten away with eschewing their due diligence for many years, as evidenced by the above link. This time they will likely not.
Will it lead to Obama’s Watergate? With the MSM and our pitiful ‘loyal opposition’ on the job?
Who’s the greater fool here?
The article over at CNBC admits that Paula’s computer contained a significant amount of classified data and then goes on to ask “how it got there”? No mention of why was she collecting so much classified information. I’m sure she needed it for her book.
And therefore an all female military is required…
Ha! There is already a crapload of lesbian harassment of females in the military, before and after the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy was lifted. Imagine what it would be like with an all female military, it will be like the gay invasion of the priesthood when the availability of altar boys was discovered.
We need to see what facts eventually are exposed to know if there is the possibility that the media love narrative associated with President Bows Alot might be overwhelmed by Benghazi. Thus far it has been treated as a minor story by the propaganda arm of the Democrat party. Just enough allegations have dribbled out that journalists have not been quite able to kill it.
I want to know these things:
1. What was the CIA’s operation at the Benghazi annex regarding the retention of individuals?
2.What were the available military rescue resources in or near theater?
3.Has the US government been involved in weapons shipments distributing Libyan weapons to a 3rd country or groups in that country?
4. Given the repeated observations by Stevens cabled to State that his mission was threatened by militias in Libya and the numerous attacks by Libyan terror elements on US assets, why was no additional security provided to him despite his requests and who specifically ordered that security be left as it was?
5.Why was no rescue mounted? Stevens cabled the threat more than 3 hours before the attack started.
6. Who was present on September 11th in the Situation Room at 1600 PA Ave both directly and by electronic means? What rescue options were discussed and when?
7. If the US was involved in weapons tranfers to elements in 3rd countries, who was being given arms and what were their loyalties to the US and its allies.
8. What was the time line of the investigation into Broadwell and company and when was the President told about the possible compromising behavior of Petraus? Did the FBI or the Justice Dept. know about the affair before he became CIA director?
I am not expecting that we are going to get these facts served up on a silver platter. I find it interesting that Sec Clinton and Sec Panetta have suddenly developed a fascination with Australian wine.
Petraus knows many of these facts. He needs to tell Congress everything. The administration is going to try to do him in anyway, he needs to get the public on his side.
I trust that the House is providing him with protection. He should be very careful about the security involved in his travel arrangements. There are way too many ways he could have an accident before he testifies.
It would certainly be enjoyable to watch the facts cascade out in such a way that the media’a fraud over the past 4 years regarding this administration is exposed in full.
Question #9:
Where was Obama when the attack was going on? There are no pictures of him in the situation room. I have read, repeatedly, that he went to bed while the attack was still raging, to rest up for his trip to Las Vegas the next day.
Where was he and what orders did he issue, if any? I believe he was AWOL and didn’t perform his presidential duties that night. Maybe he froze like JFK did the night of the Bay of Pigs invasion. Whatever he did or din’t do, we have a right to know if our president is competent or incompetent, decisive or cowardly, or so disengaged from the duties of his office that he simply didn’t care about the outcome.
just remember congress, when you get too close to the truth our ‘greatest el presidente ever’ will call it all off and classify that info., the info will have been accidentally destroyed, or, like he did when issa got too close to him when he got our people killed running illegal guns to mexican drug dealers, claim executive privilege. if you were a certain general, wouldn’t you be looking for a food taster?
makes one wonder what kind of deal he has cooking in russia. he can’t wait to get there. maybe finally got his hands on all the future launch codes? maybe a secret meeting w/ his real bosses? red dawn? give away more of alaska? throw the rest of n.a.t.o. under the bus? try to borrow some more $$$ to spend on his friends? its hard not to worry with such a great transparent amerikan in charge.
Problem is, he will be transparent. In all the wrong ways. Like the petulant child he is, he’ll continue to thumb his nose at us while he continues his wrongdoings and dare us to do anything. Yesterday’s attitude display about Rice was a mere sample of his animosity to anyone who wants to correctly assess his behavior. He said, “bring it” with the arrogance that indicates he believes he’s immune.
And largely, he is. With the way the power is currently distributed in the house and the senate, he’s untouchable. Naturally, like a mafia boss he then believes he can get away with anything. This is a very bad situation. Some day that he’ll eventually have to be held accountable but the truly sad part is, if it does come to pass it will be after-the-fact and many people will have been harmed or killed. That is, more people than in Benghazi because apparently, the litmus test will have to be a lot more people than four.
It does amaze me that of the thousands of people in media, they continue the schlocky sales pitch like a plaid-clad corner used car salesman. They’ve not caught on to the loss of viewership/readership, except to note, arrogantly, that they now feel confident they are reaching only the most enlightened of the population. If that wasn’t a flare to indicate the desire for full-blown communism, I don’t know what is.
What happened? We used to laugh at Soviet Russia and their ridiculous uptake on the truth; How they “kept up appearances” at the expense of their people and we knew how miserable their people were because of an all-reaching, all-controlling government. Why do they so desperately desire that here? It boggles the mind.
Easy answer: Because they believe that they and their friends will be in charge of it. And they are largely right.
G-d, I miss Andrew Breitbart.
Yes. It is good we have the internet for our 21st century samizdat. But the scary thing is that it is easy for “them” to know who we are. Also, “they” can turn the internet off anytime “they” want. Could just call it a cyberattack and blame it on the Chinese. Who would know? Call me paranoid but…..
Where are the 30 people who were rescued? Why is no one talking to them?
Sadly, Obama will continue his petty little act until he is done with America.
I have encouraged my congressmen to not raise the debt ceiling and not to raise taxes on anyone. If we are going under, let it happen sooner than later.
Yes, it appears there may be a silver lining here, but be warned as well. Much of the Democrat Party having become so blatantly nasty and dirty-dealing in recent memory all began with the Clinton Impeachment hearings. They resented it; I suspect that’s the moment they declared all-out war on the GOP.
Impeach the “Won?” Better be prepared for them hoisting the Jolly Roger.
. . . or did “it” begin with the Bork hearings: lefties for the first time saw a major threat to their being able to gain through the courts what they could not gain through free elections. They slandered and slimed (and frightened the gullible), and by crackie it worked!
The rest is history . . .
What happened in Benghazi was way worse than what happened in Watergate. Nobody died in Watergate. Here we not only have four dead Americans (including the first American ambassador killed since 1979), but we also have the president and God knows how many other people simply abandoning these poor souls to their fate simply because it was politically expedient to do so. THAT is why this is so important. But there IS one major difference. In both Watergate and Iran-Contra you had a Republican president with a Democratic Congress that was anxious to bring him down. Here you have a Democratic president with a Democratic Senate and a fawning mainstream media that is trying to cover up everything the president did, or at least minimize it.
But, eventually, the facts will come out and somebody is going to have to pay for this. Will it be Obama? I doubt it, because there are too many people trying to protect him. But People like Petraeus and Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice may all be going down big time, which won’t sit well with Bill Clinton who campaigned for Obama. Well, if there is anybody who can give advice to Obama on what to do after you’re impeached, it’s Bill Clinton. And if Clinton didn’t resign, I doubt Obama will. You can’t shame the shameless.
You are right, LIbertyships. But one other possibility exists. Remember the press eventually went after Bill Clinton in Monicagate. 0 is not good at creating allies. He is not good at keeping his supporters sweet (see l’affaire Winfrey). People who work for him for a while mysteriously find other things they would rather do. And eight years is a long time. Second terms are notoriously tough; few presidents finish them with their “reputations” intact. The media wants to keep eyeballs. They will need omething new, fresh and edgy to talk about in year 6, year 7. It is not inconceivable that the wave of popularity among the media that lifted 0 in ’08 and supported him in ’12 eventually turning the other way and crashing down. Pride goeth before a fall and all that.
Imagine the LSM finally decided to do its job and give us the truth about O.
Why should anyone believe them? Their credibility is shot.
Even if the media went after him, it wouldn’t matter. They may have gone after Clinton but that didn’t matter, either. He came through impeachment just fine. A verifiable Kenyan birth certificate would have no impact. It’s more likely to result in talk of ‘diversity’ and how good it is we don’t limit our leadership choices!
Reporters may have gone after Nixon but their efforts weren’t sufficient. Not until Senate Republicans withdrew their support did Nixon finally resign.
Don’t expect the same from Senate Democrats. It won’t happen.
Given enough time, how can he not create enough rope to hang himself? I mean, just look at the first 4 years. Will anyone in the media finally say, enough? Will anyone be brave enough to spill the beans?
Wonder what the tipping point will be (I am trying so hard to be hopeful.)?
There was a saying during Nam: “Get them by their….” Well, there is no expiration date on blackmail material and it never wears out. And the only expiration date on a death threat involves not needing to worry about it any more.
Obama will only fall when/if enough people decide that he (or his backers) cannot get everyone.
Love the machine gun way you write, and my favorite new word is Obamanauts! Hopefully our Hollywood educated youth won’t morph that word into Obamanazi. When i think of the “other journalism” that is ready to sacrifice itself to print death like Newsweek,i have faith that just maybe America will be fortunate enough to produce another Hemingway from pages like these?
Ditto your remarks. Walsh compacts all we know about these people, and therefore our future, into a nutshell.
Douglas Macgregor (retired Army colonel and author of “Breaking the Phalanx): “Petraeus is a remarkable piece of fiction created and promoted by neocons in government, the media and academia, How does an officer with no personal experience of direct fire combat in Panama or Desert Storm become a division CDR in 2003, man who for 35 years shamelessly reinforced whatever dumb idea his superior advanced regardless of its impact on soldiers, let alone the nation, a man who served repeatedly as a sycophantic aide-de-camp, military assistant and executive officer to four stars get so far?
How does the same man who balked at closing with and destroying the enemy in 2003 in front of Baghdad agree to sacrifice more than a thousand American lives and destroy thousands of others installing Iranian national power in Baghdad with a surge that many in and out of uniform warned against? Then, how does this same man repeat the self-defeating tactics one more time in Afghanistan? The answer is simple: Petraeus was always a useful fool in the Leninist sense for his political superiors — Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, and Gates. And that is precisely how history will judge him.”
Congrats, Feral. What you have just written may well serve as a preview of coming attractions relative to the MSM spin! Your take on the situation may well be a bunch of hogwash, and probably is, but it sure makes for a cast of attention diverting characters that the MSM can use to their advantage. Neocons, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Gates….but why didn’t you bring in “W” and the evil Dick Cheney? Excellent strategy. First we totally destroy Petraeus by associating him directly with a cabal of right-wing loons. Then, should he offer up truthful testimony implicating Obama administration malfeasance, no one will believe him and the real blame will shift to the cast of characters that you suggest. At that point the whole mess goes down the Fast and Furious rat hole….which I predict it will anyway just as soon as the sexy stuff plays out. Good work!
Yooper, respectfully, did you serve in the military? If so, then you would realize that inside the culture there is that kind of person who is not really a leader but a politician. They seem to have the instincts of a raccoon, always knowing where the food is and a warm place to hide.
This is nothing new. It’s been going in since humans first walked the earth. It’s also, in some respects, natural human instinct to latch onto those who have the power, who can make their careers profitable in either wealth or power or security of any kind. Most people are fairly obvious at it and tend to annoy those who prefer to be promoted on merit without any political affectations.
When I got out of the military in 1992, such activity seemed to have reached a peak. Nepotism, cronyism, all that was very obvious to me and my fellow officers. Perhaps, though, that generation believed “that’s how it’s done”. And sadly, without wars to fight, there can’t always be a combat-credentialed officer to promote.
But for every plain-spoken, direct, get-the-job-done officer in the military, there are perhaps a couple of hundred who are not only aware of the political trappings, but who also embrace it and count on it for their next promotion or assignment leading to same.
One might say it’s nearly impossible to get ahead in today’s military without some political savvy. And, it comes in varying degrees. I believe that Petraeus was maxed out in the most egregious example of being a yes-man and so malleable that every politician liked him and could get him to do whatever they wanted.
“Yooper, respectfully, did you serve in the military?”
Answer: Yes, proudly. US Army Aviation assigned to MAAG.
I am aware of what you say and mostly agree. My (sarcastic) point to Ferel is that he, in my opinion, serves up a diversionary “hook” for the MSM to allow the real story to go by without notice.
For a good analysis of how the pecking order in the military works, read “Imperial Hubris” by Michael Scherer, former director of the Bin Laden unit at the CIA.
My bet is that the “incompetent” George Washington pulled a few political strings to save his job from being granted to Gen. Greene as it nearly was.
On election eve I wrote that Petraeus needed to save his honor, by resigning his commission and his office and publicly expose the Benghazi treason which murdered our best young men for the avarice of effeminate politicians, bureau-rats and their flying monkeys. But “Betrayus” didn’t save his honor nor ours.
I suspected this guy, whom the MSM had instructed me was the most honorable of men, might be a POS. Now there’s definitive proof.
Let’s wait and hear what he has to say. Maybe Paula taught him how to look himself in the mirror for the first time in years, and maybe he didn’t like what he saw there. If that led to a conscious decision to resign so that he could testify openly, with all the attendant disgrace, loss of his marriage (presumably), and hurt to his family, and hers, but ultimately for the good of the country, then I applaud him. I will not judge him for his weakness.
No.
It’s simple. Check out media outlets and what’s one their splash pages if web or their front pages (above and below the fold). They’re mostly in the process of (1) ignoring the stories in order to cut the “legs” off or (2) shifting to stories that favor Obama and the Dems.
Don’t ever forget, the media is mostly the Goebbels Honorary Support Group.
and the laugh-in-your-face attitude of the Obama administration, which has been holding Petraeus’ infidelity over his head since his appointment at CIA and dropped it on him the same week the election was over
This should be our operating theory. Petraeus lied about the nature and cause of the Benghazi attack. The question is why? Until someone can come up with a better explanation I am operating on the theory that Petraeus was either blackmailed or feared being blackmailed.
It took 14 months of relentless digging and the publication of the results of that digging in the Washington Post to bring down Nixon. I can’t see BICOM – the Biased Incompetent Corrupt Obamaphilac Media – being up to the challenge. While bloggers may write good commentary, as Michael Walsh has here, they do not investigate and do not have national reach like WP and the NYT.
The hearings of the Congressional committees are being held in private so they aren’t going to shine a lot of light on this unless some Republican borrows the surreptitious video recording equipment of Jimmy Carter’s grandson.
As for Petraeus, he allowed Hussein to take credit for ending the war in Iraq when he, of all people, understood that it was Bush’s Surge which ended the war. I suspect that Petraaeus relationship with Broadwell is but the tip of the iceberg of what Hussein has on him.
Along those lines, the alternative media should then start digging to reveal the dirt the regime has on other key players and just out them, let the chips fall where they may, so as to deflate the ammunition the regime has to use blackmail as their source code.
Whenever the details reach sufficient mass, publish them. Must have verifiable, genuine evidence. The media won’t uncover any of it and will denounce it, of course but just like the left making sh*t up about the right, the damage will still be significant. If it’s a war they want…captain a**hole laid it down yesterday with his confrontational attitude. He wants to act that way? Fine. I, for one, would be happy to oblige him and inundate him with facts and details that he cannot possibly cope with.
Nothing will come out of any of this. The Republicans in DC have no intention of getting to the truth, they are all part of the act. Obama won the election, he will do what he wants when he wants.
Expect more American deaths due the cowardice of our “leaders”.
Patraeus may be a pawn, but us Americans are the fools.
I detest Obama, but I find the sudden suggestion that scandal will bring down the Obama administration in some sort of second term curse to be laughable and wishful thinking.
The thinking seems to be, ‘We lost the election but the second term scandal curse will get him!’
Let’s review a little history….
Nixon – brought down by a media who despised him and managed to nail him with a second rate burglary he actually didn’t have anything to do with planning or authorizing. His scandal was he tried to hide it after the fact.
Reagan – the media attempted it (remember the Oliver North hearings?), but couldn’t quite pull it off no matter how hard they tried.
Bush the Elder – Oh, that’s right. He had no second term. The media painted him as clueless well enough in his only term that he went down in defeat over a recession even though that recession had ended by that point and the country was already recovering – but that’s not what was portrayed in the media.
Clinton – You literally had bodies stacking up and the Chinese Army making donations to his campaign and it was all explained away, and the impeachment hearings were portrayed not as a felony that would surely have sent any of the rest of us to jail but rather as a private matter that was nothing but sex….at least, to most it looked like sex was involved. Have to get back to Billy to determine what was actually cheatin’. At any rate the media – unlike in other administrations herein listed – covered for him to the bitter end.
Bush the Younger – This one the media actually FABRICATED evidence on, then presented it as “false but accurate”! Didn’t work, but it did cripple his administration and prevented a continuation of his policies, policies with which the media deeply disagreed. Now, 4 years after the man left office, he is STILL being blamed by the media for our current malaise even though the average unemployment rate under his administration was 5.3%.
Then we have the Bamster…..we don’t have enough room here to list all of the scandals that the media are trying to keep a lid on – everything from gun running to Mexico (Fast and Furious) to admitted drug use to Benghazigate where our diplomat was assassinated after he was turned down for additional security – yet the media aren’t pushing any of these stories.
If anything, they are in something of a media wide orgasmic euphoria over the election results.
We have had unemployment well above 8% throughout almost the entirety of his first term. Many independent analysts claim the unemployment rate is WAY higher – like around 14-15% or better. He forced through a nationalized health care plan that is deeply unpopular still, and yet the media don’t go after Obama.
And they won’t.
What in Hades makes anyone think the media will discover a shred of honesty and do the right thing now?
The republicans need to face the fact that they are not only contesting the democrat party – they are also having to fight back against a corrupt media.
Nothing will come of any of these scandals unless the media lose control of the narrative, and I just don’t see that happening.
Even if it did bring Obama down (which I prayed would happen during the election process) we would have Biden in his place. If something happened to Biden, we’d have Harry Reid. . .situation seems pretty hopeless to me.
Wrong. Succession goes from Vice President to the Speaker of the House, not the Senate Majority Leader. That would mean John Boehner would be next in line, until Biden appointed a Vice president….
Michael, Michael! That annoying buzz you are hearing is your alarm going off! Time to wake up, dream’s over! Time to get real. Closed door hearings. Nothing to see here. Move along.
I’m sorry but this is all fantasy. The quote from Watergate is “What did the President know and when did he know it”. It’s clear from the President’s first term that he doesn’t know anything, ergo the timeline is irrelevant. You can look in the pockets of the empty suit all day long but they’re empty, it’s an empty suit.
The big difference between Watergate and Benghazi is that the MSM hated Nixon and loves Obama. They crucified the former and protect the latter. Same situation with the Clinton intern scandal.
The unfortunate truth is that the Obama administration can and will do anything they want. Here is their process:
1. They do whatever they want on whatever issue interests them.
2. If challenged, they demagog the challenger until the challenge goes away and the challenger is discredited. The MSM focuses on the challenger and the demagoguery and ignores the issue.
3. If real substance begins to emerge (via alternate media, not the impotent Congress) they kick up a lot of dust to deflect attention.
4. If the dust doesn’t cover the scandal, they launch an “impartial” investigation.
5. They then work behind the scenes to undermine and drag out the investigation.
6. They refuse to deal with the issue while the investigation is underway, citing “fairness”.
7. If the investigation turns up anything survivable, they ignore it (see Simpson Bowles, etc.).
8. If the investigation begins to get traction, and is life threatening, they claim executive privilege (see Fast & Furious).
9. They then go back to step 1 and start over on their next issue of interest.
So these blogs are entertaining, and true, but probably just amuse them as the blogs are proof positive they are winning.
Note to author Walsh. Hopefully you review the comments that follow your essays. It should be obvious to you by now that most commenters have lost faith in any scandal, no matter how serious, is capable of doing lasting harm to a Democrat administration. Obviously the common thread among the commenters regarding blame is the in-the-tank popular media. You and the many other fine authors on the PJM site are a blessing to us all because of the thoughtful and substantive material that you provide. But the fact is that as useful as the provided information and insight is it is a source more of frustration than call to action. Well connected and equally well informed writers such as you and your colleagues must devise legitimate ways to go to the jugular of the powers that control the information (propaganda) stream and eventually get under their skin to the point that they must respond and expose themselves. Such was done regarding Dan Rather and that should have been just a start in my humble opinion. Otherwise the pages of PJM will do little more than produce a great gnashing of teeth as serious threats to our nation come and go generally unnoticed as the MSM continues to sell us down the river. I have neither the intellect nor the background to be able to suggest how such an attack on the MSM jugular could be conducted but I am hopeful that PJM could serve as a focal point for legitimate and well-founded exposure and the eventual Rather-style downfall of the MSM. Obama and his ilk, and other threats to our liberty, only survive with the blessing of the MSM.
I agree with your comment about exposing the (individual) MSM elite wherever we can. Michael has written elsewhere about the need to replace the MSM. I’d like to hear more about how we go about it.
Meanwhile, I plan to start posting/tweeting/etc., in any response regarding said media/democrat elite, pictures of their lavish lifestyles, in direct contrast to their claims to be representatives of the middle class, and their slander of the other party as that “of the rich”. Think Al Gore’s mansions. It’s a start. Hashtag #PartyoftheRich.
In the U.S. of A political power is distributed across multiple levels
of government, multiple organizations, and many, many, powerful people;
The Obama administration’s attempt to seize all power from the powerful
will be its downfall; It may have met its match in the US military, and
will most certainly do so well before it attains its goal; Its opponents
will not go gentle into that good night.
“Just a week after the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama II as, unaccountably, president of the United States, the full extent of the looming disaster is beginning to dawn on the American people.”
It’s beginning to dawn on only half of the American people, those who actually give a damn about this country.
Actually the half of the American people who actually give a damn about this country already knew what losing the election and four more years of Obama would mean. It’s those who didn’t bother to vote that are waking up to the nightmare to come.
Michael, the Propaganda and Lies Ministry is not going to “go after” someone with whom they hold a co-conspirator operation and enterprise.
Since radical leftists love to detest law and order types, they gleefully report on Secret Service dalliances and military men’s sins, police officer excesses, and all manner of Republican’s “offenses”…real, imagined or made up out of whole cloth.
However, their “coverage” of Democrat sins of the flesh, embezzlement, fraud, corruption, graft, …as well as vehicular manslaughter, traitorism, betrayal, Winter Soldier lies, racial intolerance, incitement to riot, treason, and the like…well, let’s put the emphasis on “cover” in “coverage”…without Andrew Breitbart around…we have precious few countrymen willing to bump chests with the whole treasonous cabal.
To think that John Kerry, the liar and traitor from the sordid Winter Soldier affair…should be in charge of our national defense…is a cosmic joke.
To think that Susan Rice, the liar and incompetent who became the front man for the lies of Benghazi would be in charge of our State affairs.
To think that Eric Holder, the liar and head of a race hatred filled and corrupt DOJ should be our top legal officer.
To think that ANY competent person allowed for the gutting of our military over the right to soak relative pennies from “the rich” in order to pay “their fair share”…not to cure Socialist fiscal insanity
To think that our Senate has refused to even produce a budget to be scored because of the sniveling worm Reid
To think that a man whose life was mentored by a CPUSA member Frank Marshall Davis, a “small c communist” Bill Ayers, a church of Marxist underpinnings headed by a racist mad dog, Jeremiah Wright, a bizarre and murky Columbia University experience with Cloward-Piven and Cooper Union and Socialist Scholars ooze seeping from his pores….and we STILL “wonder” whether or not he is a radical taking us through a leftist’s wet dream….
WE ARE BEING PLAYED THE FOOL, Michael.
Academia, Hollywood and mass media are conspirators in a betrayal of historic proportions. They most certainly are NOT going to “expose” any…read that as ANY…scandal involving their co-conspiratorial partners in that betrayal.
Ever.
They will, possibly…chase down those they love to hate. Again, military, law and order types, conservatives, Judeo-Christian faithful, Republicans of all stripes. The “investigations” will end there. It will NEVER touch the core of the conspiracy…lest they investigate themselves….and turn themselves in to be hanged for treason.
Exactly right, cfb. We are being played, by the Obama administration, as powerless peasants who have no right to know, discuss, evaluate the actions of the Obama Gang.
Notice how often Obama takes ‘The Fifth’? How every time a specific question is put to him about Benghazi, about how actually authorized the refusal of aid, about who actually authorized Rice to go out and tell her silly cover story – notice how Obama refuses to answer? He always says; ‘It’s under investigation’. Heh. No, he’s taking the Fifth.
Notice how many four star generals Obama has turfed in his time? And for what? For not kowtowing to Him.
We know that the Benghazi massacre wasn’t due to Americans, ie, that ridiculous video. After all, isn’t it interesting that the riots only took place on one day? Heck, weren’t these people still insulted the next day, and the day after that, and…? Hmm. The massacre was due to Al Qaeda terrorism.
After all, the State Department had been told, for a year, that Benghazi was overrun by militants and that the Consulate was in danger. Nothing was done. There was a June attack on that same consulate, blowing a hole in the walls! Nothing was done. The British had moved out, indeed, all nations had moved out saying the city was too unstable and in control of militants. Why did the State Dept and Obama do nothing about previous pre-massacre request for more protection?
But Obama has declared that He has conquered Islamist terrorism; it no longer exists. So, is it that Benghazi can’t exist because Islamic terrorism can’t exist…or is it ALSO that the CIA was gun running to Syria as well?
Obama tried to cover up Benghazi by blackmailing Petraeus. I don’t think there can be any other explanation, for the short-lived affair was not only over but known to the FBI long before and dismissed as irrelevant to security.
So, Petraeus at first agreed that the attack was due to that ‘American video’ when he knew it was a lie. Then, Obama blamed the CIA for not responding. And Petraeus, to protect the CIA, sent out a memo that the CIA were ‘never asked for help’.
That is, Petraeus threw causality right back to Obama’s hands. That was the end of Petraeus; Obama instantly reacted, as he always does when confronted, and threw him out.
Note: That’s a knee-jerk reaction of Obama to being challenged or confronted; he attacks – as he did in the press meeting when challenged on why Susan Rice had said such stupid things; Obama said he was ‘outraged’ that such comments were made’. That’s a tactic to shut up argument.
Obama and his gang are out to destroy the miliary, for it’s well known that the military loathe Obama. You are allowed only one interaction with Obama: adulation and submission. So, he’s turfed how many four star generals? And he’ll continue to decimate, by funding and firing, the military. Because they won’t Submit to Him.
It will be interesting to see if the military will rise up against him, like they do in the countries that Obama is trying to make the USA resemble.
The answer to the heading question is: No, it will not.
Spending my formative years shortly after the end of the Vietnam War, most of my generation not even giving thought to serving, I had always regretted not being a part of something greater like the U.S. Military. Ronald Reagan would have served as my CiC.
Then during Desert Storm, I marveled at how impressive not only our weaponry but our leadership and troops were. Did it get any better than General Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf and his reporting officers – real men of honor and bravery?
But now? I don’t even know how the everyday soldier and reporting officers can manage, first overseen by a coward like Bill Clinton, then demonized as mercenaries during the Iraq War by a corrupted media and pathetic progressives not worthy to shine the serving’s shoes, and the final nail with a reelected, feckless, dishonorable Barack Obama acting as CiC. I know for a fact large demographics of this country quietly rooted for American military deaths in Iraq to be used as fodder for political gain and to bash George Bush. Those people should be hanged from the neck, and we would have in a better day.
Through multiple deployments, their hands tied, large segments of our country either looking down their nose or forgetting them altogether, our supposed allies shooting them in the back while our lying “leaders” promise we are winning – and still our military perseveres. They are better men than I am.
I would not blame our entire military machine of flipping America the collective bird, laying down their weapons, coming home, and telling Barack Obama to shove his cowardice, his apologies, and his dishonor up the ying yang. “The Apology Tour just stopped, Mr. President. You pick up a gun.”
The imbeciles in Washington can’t even dependably get the ballots to our military serving. Of all the shenanigans that went on during the last few elections, nothing enrages me that the thought of those who have actually fight the real fight, having their votes nullified either through gross incompetence, or worse.
If those serving don’t get to vote, then nobody deserves to vote.
My entire life I would call myself uber jingoistic. I was proud to be an American and damn lucky to be born here. But what has happened to my country? Half of the people are held accountable for nothing. I mean nothing. I find myself numb to these demoralizing stories anymore. There are parts of America that deserve to have the Welcome Mat laid out for radical jihad IMO.
I am almost ashamed to say this now. But it is the truth and I must. There are parts of this country I loathe anymore. I admit it. And I flat out hate most of the media. I am having a really difficult time preventing my heart from growing really cold towards many of these so called brothers and sisters by birthright, actively seeking a fight not with words, but with bullets.
I don’t think the US military will ever disobey a direct and clear civilian order and just come home.
However, I do suspect there is a large percentage of the military that is just trying right now to keep their heads above the turf and survive what time is left on their enlistment. Given that the Bamster has set a hard deadline for withdrawl from Afghanistan – who wants to be on that last patrol?
Nah.
They’ll carry out their orders but they are not going to put the effort in to win that they’ve displayed in the past. Just what is required until they can get out of the theater, and possibly later get out of the military.
On the flip side, as US forces are reduced the enemy will become bolder and seek some sort of victory over a reduced US military presence before they are completely out of the country. Things will get dicier.
I’m sure there will always be those within the military who think Obammer’s great – but I doubt they are the majority opinion in the ranks.
Having said THAT – I’d also like to tie in these observations/comments with another conversation that is going on right now, that conversation being all of those secession petitions.
According to (I think) the Heritage Foundation, about 40% of the military comes from the South even though the South has less than 40% of the military age males. That percentage is greater by far than any other region of the country – but it voted overwhelmingly for the republican candidate.
Methinks things are about to get very interesting regarding/maintaining the size and composition of our armed forces. I suspect a lot of veterans are going to be leaving at the first opportunity.
You gloss over Weasely Clark, and his bombing of the Chinese Embassy. There was rot in the ranks back in the ’90s, too. It just wasn’t reported by the media. We were supposed to be good little ‘mercans and applaud when the embassy went kaboom.
The purpose of this scandal is to steer everybody away from the truth of what happen in Benghazi. The MSM made Obama and will kill to save him from any embarrassment. All you had to do is watch yesterdays presidential news conference and listen to those soft ball questions. The lap dogs were hard at work.
In other words, the only way the MSM will get to the bottom of Fast and Furious and it’s three hundred dead Mexican nationals is to find out who Holder’s been poking? Maybe there’s an “A for lay” ghost writing court biographer by the name of Chaquita Shagwell on the make in the Department of Justice? Well, first the republicans would have to grow some balls.
You’re kidding, right? The job of the obamamedia is to protect him and his administration, nothing else matters. Not our safety, not the economy, his job is to support those that voted for him in a manner they would like to become accustom to.
Not a chance, go back to MSM history with peanut boy.
“that when institutional barriers between men and women break down — barriers erected not out of sexist animus or irrational prejudice, but in recognition of the biological reality of boy meets girl — all sorts of things start to happen”
This statement is SO hetero-normative!. Just consider what a gay-encouraging military does to such considerations!
Meanwhile, I hate to think what this is doing to the morale in the military.
Don’t be silly, it’s not Watergate, not even Whitewatergate. It’s at worst Iran-Contra. Not even that. Fast and Furious was Iran-Contra, but the Republicans couldn’t do a thing. What make you think Benghazi is different?
If you have to depend on the alphabet TVs, NYT, and WaPo to make the scandal stick, then there is no scandal. Go back to sleep and dream some more. Other nighmares are coming, let this one go.
You’re kidding of course.
The whole purpose of the “sex scandals” is to cover-up Benghazi and, as you say, purge national defense of anybody who believes in national defense. So the Benghazi investigation will be, in fact, a whitewash. In the meantime, the masses are treated to the Chicago version of gladiator games as the lucicrous stories of “sexting” consume the news cycles for months. If you care about that, take PJM off your favorites list, and start recording soap operas for entertainment.
As if Pertraeus and Broadhurst were the first two generals in history to diddle them some prostitutes or two.
And behind it about 20 years ago, was the very conscious strategic decistion by the American-hating marxists and internationalist faschists to destroy American military power by first, forcing women into the forces, and more recently, by forcing homosexuals into to them. Both were deliberate ticking time bombs guaranteed to end America’s military dominance. The fact that these two incidents didn’t involve women in the military is irrelevant, because once the forces were irrevicobaly corrupted, the final ticks of the bomb were set in motion.
But in all honestly, it doesn’t bother me, because when Little Lenin got elected the second time, the handwriting came off the wall and roared full throated into every nook and cranny of the country.
It’s over. Completely over. Fascism, socialism, internationalism. The people of the United States chose pocket change and hatred of success over freedom Nov 7, 2012. All the rest is just the details of the inevitable fall.
Your children will be serfs. Get out or get used to it.
Dream on. MSM going after the Democrats are you kidding? MSM is nothing more than propaganda arm of DNC. If You want to win this fight get out and start applying the same tactics the left uses.
a) try to find as many Whistle-blower you can
b) use the courts to the extend is possible
c) get in the face of MSM Fight back don’t be afraid of them
d) mock and expose MSM in front of their audience
e) hold as many public event as you can.
f) get down and dirty and fight as if your life were danger.
d) use every trick in he book to bring down every lefty politician
g) try to penetrate into ever lefty institution and exposed them
h) FIGHT FIGHT and FIGTH
“…The larger DFACs (dining facilities) were the deployed equivalent of singles bars, and the omnipresent port-o-pot was a favorite location for clandestine couplings…”
In a separate and enclosed society where flaunting of fundamental moral standards, laws, rules and regulations is ordinary and ubiquitous the police–and those in power who control the police–have a free hand to arrest anyone.
Consider the Gestapo’s freedom to arrest Catholic Priests in Hitler’s Germany. Though universally popular, Hitler feared direct confrontation with the Church for the minds and hearts of the German people. So when Hitler got word that the Vatican was preparing an official document (Mit Brensnnede Sorge; With Burning Anxiety) protesting Nazi policy, he turned to the one weapon against Church authority always available. The Gestapo immediately began arresting pedophile priests.
The Vatican’s official protest (concerned exclusively with the euthanizing of the mentally and physically impaired absent any reference to Jews, Gypsies or homosexuals and tepid to begin with) was never published or distributed. Nor did the Vatican ever dare to challenge Hitler again. The Pope’s moral authority had been squandered by priestly lusting after young boys.
A culture of unbridled heterosexual partying doesn’t expose our generals to arrest. But public scandal has the same effect on military authority, careers and morale. Never mind the hypocrisy. Boys behaving like boys has just lost us two valuable American generals.
Petraeus became politically vulnerable as soon as his affair with Broadwell was known to the administration. The question is, how long did the administration know and how much influence did awareness of the administration’s Knowledge have on Petraeus.
What is undeniable is that the Director of the CIA was completely beholden to the administration for its silence. He and his agency were captive, their authority compromised along with the worth of the intelligence they provided.
That Petraeus was in lockstep with administration policy raises questions about the general’s character, hailed everywhere as sterling and unimpeachable. Questions are also being raised about the longevity of the Generals fix in Iraq (a fistful of dollars), the expensive failure of that fix in Afghanistan, and the General’s vaunted worth altogether.
And all General Petraeus is really guilty of is being the alpha boy among boys. Mrs. Petraeus and Mrs. Allen may or may not have been in completely the dark. But the boys all knew. And they were proud.
Ah, boys will be boys.
One of several money lines:
“The silver lining, of course, is that l’affair Petraeus might lead the MSM to finally notice a scandal that, by rights, could bring down Obama, the same way that Watergate (summer of 1972) eventually ended the presidency of Richard Milhous Nixon in 1974.”
I wouldn’t bet on it. Obama is the MSM’s boy and they’ll do anything to protect him, including but not limited to limiting it investigations or sitting on evidence (even at the peril of forfeiting a Putlitzer). The only hope is that Senate Democrats are sufficiently outraged that they give tacit permission to the MSM to pursue it. Otherwise, there are plenty of people in this administration who, for the appropriate clandestine rewards, will fall on their swords for The One. Others, not so willing will be thrown under the bus. There appears to be a lot of room under there for several bodies.
“MSM’s boy?”
Sounds racist to me. Next you’ll be saying that as a student, Obama was Harvard’s boy. As if our institutional elites, the very cream of contemporary American society, have replaced antebellum plantation masters in the role of controlling the destinies of African Americans.
Pulitzer’s aren’t given for investigating democrats. Pulitzer is about as corrupt as the Nobel committee.
In a way, I feel sorry for Obama. He’s not very bright. He’s been promoted way beyond his abilities, and he could very well be left hanging out to dry by the people who are behind him. He will have the protection of the MSM but only up to a point. He is exposed, and to his credit he doesn’t have the killer instinct that made LBJ and Nixon so dangerous. In any case, the old republic died with Lincoln’s war and the new republic died with FDR’s New Deal and LBJ’s Great Society. It is what it is: an administrative state where we take our orders from the Commander in Chief. Heil, Obama!
Will Petraeusgate lead the media to finally pay attention to Benghazi? Not likely. Just watch the contortions that the lamestream media performs in order to avoid facing the truth.
Lots of dreaming and wish fulfillment in the comments, here.
Not much in the way of a pragmatic or practical approach to politics, of course.
Not much that’s very positive or productive, either.
So, when are you going to stop talking about how to attract voters by attacking them, either individually or in groups? ‘Cause that seems to be what you’ve all been doing over the last few years.
iow, your apporach to problem solving appears to involve insulting everyone who disagrees with any jot or tittle of your ideology, while being surprised that you can’t win the big elections or on even the smallest of policy issues.
Yeah, Obama’s an ass, and he’s a huge problem, right now…but you’ve got more eimportant things to consider than trying to get rid of him.
One of those things is to work on a positive approach to problem solving. Whether the problem is winning elections or convincing poor people that you can create the jobs and opportunities that they need and desire, your current negative approach to these issues isn’t working. Not all of the poor people in America are drug addicts, welfare moms, or even lazy – nor are they any other negative sterotype or descrptive that you use or can imagine.
So, yeah. You’re ‘not getting the message out’…becuse you’re -often viciously- attacking the very people -and demographics- you need.
When you aren’;t doing that, you’re seeking vengence, or talking about seeking vengence upon those who simply disagree with your negative ‘messaging.’
To put it another way, what would Reagan do? How would he say it? If you admired him, imitate him. He’s the last big winner you had…and there’s a reason he won so handly. It wasn’t because he was attacking almost everyone and everything with indiscriminate passion.
Seems pretty lame to count on some sex mess to (perhaps) bring out the truth of the travesty of Benghazi. I’m not holding my breath.
Also lame that more than two months later, the main players haven’t been questioned, beyond Petraeus’ amazing story backing up “the video” on September 14.
Tomorrow he will be questioned in closed door (Senate Intelligence comm.?) session.
I hope he at least recants his lie on behalf of the executive branch.
abisinthe:
Agree completely save for the descriptive opening, “He’s not very bright” and the “to his credit, he doesn’t have the killer instincts.”
“Bright” is a loose term. That Obama is not enlightened in the eyes of right wing white society doesn’t mean people of color see him that way. The brightest professors and administrators of our best universities and the brightest journalists in our most respectable media along with all the great underprivileged masses of our great nation all agree that this President is exceedingly bright. He is a blaze across our firmament. His light bedazzles all the world.
If he is not impeached and dismissed in disgrace, Obama will certainly go down in the history books as more effective than Johnson or even FDR. But is the country ready for what impeachment entails? Are we ready to refight the Civil War with Obama in the role of Lincoln and in possession of resources inconceivable in Lincoln’s time?
As for “killer instinct,” that Obama has in spades. This is a guy who sets aside one evening a week to pore over terrorist bios picking out drone targets. Deciding who lives and who dies. This is the guy who drank a warm glass of milk and went to bed during the attack on our embassy in Benghazi. Collateral damage often including women and children in drone strikes far from MSM cameras is not a consideration to this dazzling President publicly opposed to water-boarding and determined to close the torture chambers of GITMO.
Obama has waited a lifetime for this moment. The lion king unfettered at the top of his power in a second presidential term. The only opposition within the Democratic Party captive for her 2016 presidential ambitions. The Democratic Party captive to smooth election of its candidate in 2016. A clear majority of the electorate in his thrall.
Zieg Heil!
Well said.
I am sick and tired of conservatives talking about Obama’s incompetence and lack of intellect. IDIOTS!
Those people could not be MORE wrong, and in fact, are part of the problem.
He’s VERY bright, and he’s VERY effective.
And he’s very evil.
That’s what makes him so dangerous.
Oh, and one more thing for those of you who comfort yourselves with the assurance that he’s really not very bright.
There’s one more thing that he IS.
He’s winning.
So please stop with your idiotic mewling about his lack of intelligence.
The only bright thing about Barack and Michelle Obama and all their slimy supporters like David Axelrod is that they know and exploit the stupidity of their base, those cheering throngs as Obama lied himself through the campaign.
Hitler “won” too, for a time, as did Stalin and Mao and Pol Pot and Fidel and Hugo.
Through promises and exploitation of peoples’ gullibility, coupled with ruthlessness.
It’s not him. He’s as dumb as a stump. It’s the eminence gris somewhere running the campaign that’s got the brains. Somebody plucked this nobody out of Occidental college and plunked him into Columbia, where he didn’t do very well, and probably never showed up for class, and then got him into Harvard Law, where he got to edit the Law Review without publishing anything himself, and on and on. He’s somebody’s Wizard of Oz. All bluster and blowhard, and behind the curtain, a humbug.
The question is, who?
Obama himself can’t put his undies on straight. He’s getting help from someone. Someone evil.
Louis Farrakhan, says I.
Has anyone else noticed that every sleazebag adulterer involved in this scandal is a Republican? No wonder Eric Cantor got involved – he’s just the type of GOP sleazebag to hold court over this puerile nonsense.
Petreus – Republican.
Allen – Republican.
Broadwell – Republican.
Jill Kelley – Republican.
Shirtless FBI Stalker – Republican.
Party of personal responsibility and moral values? Like hell.
Some people are embroiled in some stuff (however, perhaps Obama did/does want to get rid of Petraeus and any other non-sycophant “serving” him) and all of a sudden the republican party no longer stands for personal responsibility/moral values ?
Broadwell is an ambitious self-promoter.
Kelley a Kardashian.
Don’t know about the political affiliation of the shirtless FBI guy.
But you seem to be really really reaching to make your point.
for the record, Walter J., you’d have to have a very long search to find a more despicable crowd than Barack Obama and his immediate crowd of hangers on and surrogates, both in real time and “historically”.
That he prevailed in this most election means that over 1/2 of the voting population of the United States is officially dumber than boxes of rocks.
No, it doesn’t mean that at all.
A lot of people who could accurately (though uncharitably) be described as being “dumber than boxes of rocks” voted AGAINST Obama, and can be counted on to do so reliably, election after election.
Why?
Voting for, or against, Obama and his like is not a test of intelligence, it is a test of values.
Every Obama voter I know personally fancies themselves to have wonderful, enlightened values.
They aren’t very intelligent.
Well, you landed on it like a frog on a lily pad, but for once you stated the truth. People who have no conception of the value of honesty, the value of a work ethic, and the value of liberty tended to vote for Obama. This didn’t make them stupid, a characterization you have persistently objected to, but it does say a lot about their willful ignorance. Good luck with your smart but narcissist Comrade Obama. When he is finished you will be as finished as any of the rest of us. And you will finally know it.
Right, so when the 2010 midterm election “shellacking” took place, that was obvious proof that Americans were intelligent and virtuous and righteous and God-fearing and conservative. Now, two years later, that same group of American voters has somehow magically transformed into a bunch of slovenly, lazy, welfare-taking low-information minority liberal scum, all because they didn’t vote for Mitt Romney. The mental gymnastics you must need to do in your head to keep everything running must be exhausting.
With his demonstrable record, lack of achievement in and out of the presidency, his wasteful spending (each green job “created” cost about $5 million), his clear cut contempt for the founding principles of this country and his obvious stupidity, only the brain dead and the lazy could support a second term of one Barack Obama.
Your inference that those who ousted democrats in 2010 (despite Obama telling his followers to vote and “punish their enemies”) somehow magically voted for the phony in 2012 is specious, at best.
This time around, Obama’s message was that “voting is revenge”. That would be revenge against sanity.
And in excess of 60 million Americans took him up on it.
Hey Walter, nothing can top your original point about republicans for “mental gymnastics”.
Actually, it’s more likely that it was because of Voter Fraud. If it really was simply because of Americans being “dumber than rocks”, then Obama would have won at least one Voter ID state, which he didn’t win even one.
Cite your sources, please.
A Marxist decided that.
And anyone who calls himself (or herself) a conservative yet supports this “integration” is doing the work of the enemies of our country.
OBAMA’S WATERGATE!?
This is the title and headline, while Obama and his minions are accessory to murder of U.S. citizens and have essentially aided terrorist factions in Mexico.
Why won’t somebody, ANYBODY in a seat of authority do something about it?
Because We The People haven’t tarred and feathered anyone lately.
If a video were uncovered showing Obama blowing someones head off his minions would still continue to fawn all over him. Sick, ‘stoopid’ bunch.
We can only hope and pray it brings the fraud in chief down.
What are people here smoking to think that Bengazi is capable of bringing Obama down? Whatever really happened there, even if it comes out, will not turn senate democrats or the media against him. A video of Obama and his buddies gang raping children in the oval office probably wouldn’t bring him down, and people actually think impeachment over bengazi will work? LOL
anyone who serves this corrupt administration deserves the results, including the room temperature ambassador and his former CIA director.
serve a snake, don’t be surprised when you are poisoned.
no one with honor would serve such a dishonorable man.
No way the media gets behind anything negative about Obama. BUT, the hidden silver lining here may be the PUBLIC’s disapproval of Obama, which may help the GOP in their arguments with DEMS about taxes and other unrelated items.
It’s really sad that we pay for the existence of such an apparently corrupt government. But what is really a load is I don’t see it getting much better do to the nature of man.
the MSM will actively participate in the optimal damage control.
The Obama administration needs time to tell the witnesses what they remember and to identify and “adjust” the paper trails. Paper trails are really the hard part because emails can find their way to the darndest places. A Sandy Berger needs to be found to steal the things that have leaked too far into the public domain (though Obama’s been incredible at finding people willing to commit career suicide for him). The reputations/careers of uncooperative witnesses will need to be destroyed
All this takes time. So expect a very slow drip-drip-drip of information that gives the MSM some claim that their doing their job and enough time for the administration to get its job done.
The media will NOT permit Obama to be damaged by this. Only republicans will be damaged.

“Whoever decided that “women’s liberation” required the sexual integration of the armed forces did his or her country a signal disservice.”
Indeed. The Romans called the things related to the military “castra” as in Castor and Pollux (from “pollux” we get the word “polution” of “polutione” which means basically the male ejaculation.)
The idea was basically “no fooling around in war time”. In those days one could bring your wife and kids along during service but they stayed far from the fight. Romans on patrol kept their focus and energy on the fight. Then they changed, they became more effeminate, and lost their nation.
If Patton could have seen this day, he would have joined Rommel to clean up Europe and then invade the US to get rid of all those Liberal pansies.
Perhaps the nature of the Paula Broadwell emails to Jill Kelly were more patriotic rather than that of the jealous love triangle. The stories lately are that Marine Gen. Allen used Mrs. Kelly to help execute (would it be military, foreign, or domestic?) policy by suppression of First Amendment freedoms of US civilians. That would be a good basis for advising Mrs. Kelly to stay away from Gen. Petraeus, but I think his staff would have also been able to defend him from Muslim infiltration without violating the chain of command as their superiors have done. Recall awhile ago Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mullen and Defense Secretary Gates were phoning US citizens in order to discourage them from exercising First Amendment rights. I admire and respect them but that is what I call operating way outside the chain of command. I think Obama has his own system or definition of “chain of command” which includes Muslim Brotherhood types in Africa, the Middle East, and right here in the USA with Valerie Jarrett having the final say in the gutsy call to sacrifice four lives in Libya for the Greater Good (and the election).
Benghazi? Hardly a pimple on body riddled with rotten flesh.
Obama had no open records, a questionable birth certificate, a false SS number, thought he lived in one of 57 United States and knew a military branch as “corpse” men !! Then came the F&F !!
If it weren’t so tragic, Benghazi could give us all a good laugh.
Obama and his followers are ripping away at all that’s decent and honorable, including many of our Military, and most of the rest of a once-great society. Clean your weapons. Buy ammunition.
God Save the U S A !!!!!!
Q:What did the ambassador say to Obama?
A: Tell me wife and kids I love them.
Pass it on
Wait, Ambassador Stevens was married? And had kids? I thought he only was attracted to the same sex?

…in the same way the public was eventually confused and exhausted by all the Clinton scandals).

Just one observation: the aforementioned quote perfectly explains the thinking of the GOP Establishment (more commonly known as the “white loafer” crowd but, for our purposes “GOPE” will do [yes and you know the quite apropos acronym for their counterparts]).
It has been the history of the GOPE to not soil themselves with scrappy fights so, whenever they’re up against an unrelenting and/or unscrupulous opposition, they opt to lose gracefully. But don’t worry: the GOPE have plenty more where they came from.
These are the people that “…eventually [become] confused and exhausted by all [of] the… scandals).”
The rank and file simply become disgusted and depressed by the lack of courage, the failure to hit back, the general failure to recognize that what Obama and his like have done is successfully, if temporarily, painted the entire opposition this way.
Didn’t anybody ever teach these clowns about Balance of Power concepts? As long as the stupid GOP keeps bringing a knife to a gun fight, they will keep losing.
We want someone to stand up to this everyone-who-doesn’t-agree-with-me-is-a-racist meme; to call them the liars and racists that they actually are; to explain why conservatism produces superior results every time it’s tried and why Socialism (in all it’s myriad forms) fails everywhere and every time it’s tried; to espouse our underlying principles with enthusiasm and aplomb.
This is what the Tea Party is all about. The TPs are tired of watching Leftists steal our country while these lame-asses get all Robert-Michel-comfortable on us.
All of this is not to accuse Mr. Walsh of being complicit – not the least – but to simply set the record straight.
So, sorry to disagree with you, sir. Otherwise, I enjoyed your article, as always. :)
