I second all the "anti-video" sentiment here. Buffering+Ads+Fluff=too much time for too little information. Post the video, but summarize the high points.

1) Girls like different books than boys, and schools (by far) assign books girls like more. So boys (statistically) don’t learn, do, like, or love reading as much.
2) Teachers like ‘emo poetic writing’. Write a love scene -> Award. Write a sword fight -> expelled.
3) No, really, write a sword fight -> EXPELLED. The standard of behavior is the girl (who, on average, has a higher ‘maturity level’). The boys are then treated as defective girls. “Why can’t you sit still, all the girls are?!?” Statistics of discipline for boys. Zero tolerance has issues.
4) Death of recess. Boys have EXCESS ENERGY. Many energy-burning competitive games banned. Many recess moved from ‘unstructured’ to ‘structured’.(which, boys like less as a group, unless it’s -their- thing chosen. Which it isn’t). Statistics on ‘time in unstructured recess’ -> dramatic drop.

I refuse to watch videos on any topic, even when they are conservative.

Can someone summarize the four points?

The video was very good. Of course, no one cares. Males are born with a sort of Original Sin and must suffer. Very much how Jews were treated at one time.

(No, I am not whining, because I live in a sub-culture where this does not apply for several reasons. But we are supposed to look out for the oppressed.)

I 45th the video remarks. At least offer a transcript. A choice would be nice.

Having said that, perhaps gender segregated classrooms could be a solution. In a 5th grade class, the girls could read Little Women; the boys can read Robinson Crusoe, or an RAH juvie.

I didn't watch the video after reading some of the comments. Depending on the age group, I would suggest letting the guys bring their hunting rifles to school during deer season like we used to; there's still good day light for hunting after school gets out. Let 'em play kick ball with the bully. Let 'em shoot spit wads from the back of the class or the bus. Oh, and let 'em play cowboys and indians or GIs and Krauts during recess with bananas for guns and water balloons for grenades. Oh, and putting tacks on the chairs of bullies and bananas in their tail pipes is a lot of fun too.

The title of this page is based on a false premise - that they are interested in reforms to make our schools more boy-friendly.

Shrike - thanks for the summary.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who hates noisy, time consuming videos.

Let's not forget the girls.

My observation is that the girls graduating from high school today are not as smart, strong, assertive or courageous as the girls from my day.

I think the problem isn't turning boys into girls but our young into Eloi.

"I think the problem isn't turning boys into girls but our young into Eloi."--Bill Lawrence

Girls are born Eloi and from there they grow into reproductive Eloi-hood.

Sommers suggests "guysread.com";. It is a great idea but never fails to disappoint.

I wrote this list before playing the video:

Let them fight. Today, we punish both participants in a fight. If we punish at all, it should be the one who started the fight.

Stop the propaganda. People are not equal – they are all different. Boy are interested in wars, guns and real history. Schools teach political correctness – distorted narratives discouraging patriotism, initiative, and competition. When girls are reading “Little Women,” boys should pick up “30 Seconds over Tokyo.”

Separate sports by gender. Girls may win in hop scotch or jump rope, but boys need to be short stops, pitchers, linebackers and quarterbacks.

Reverse the Zero Tolerance policy. The teacher, principal or administrator who punishes a student for chewing a pop tart into the shape of a gun, or depicting a battle on paper or pointing his finger at someone should be immediately suspended and charged with violating the student’s right to free speech.
