The problem though is that a lot of men are becoming losers in this economy, and that game is going to set up your girl to compete for the few winners. We're going to see a lot of successful, lonely women out there.

The truth is that Sims is a GAME and will teach your daughter nothing. She will learn from watching you, and how you treat your spouse.

The culture teaches us that nice guys finish last and the tragedy is that young girls buy it. Young girls just love the 'bad boy' with tatoos, scraggly beard, & outlaw attitude - that's exciting, you know - until they face monthly bills, find out he won't work, that he is abusive & controlling, adulterous, and sucks out every ounce of energy & emotion until there's nothing left.

Even after all of that they'll just look for another one to replace him. If they do settle for a nice guy, they will become bored, abusive, cheat and leave.

What's interesting though is that this kind of guy was portrayed as the villainous type up through about the 1960's. I even saw an old copy of The Dating Game board game from the 50's or so where the keepers showed up with flowers and sporting a jacket and tie. The loser was the greaser in a leather jacket. It's turned around 180 degrees now with jerks and sluts idolized and civilized folks reviled.

I remember that Dating Game as a young girl. As someone who's dated quite a bit I can tell you that there are many lying, manipulative scumbags who claim to be 'nice guys' and many tough looking bad boys who are honorable and trustworthy.

This is true of both genders.

No. Not as long as the rest of pop culture aimed at girls teaches them to select for narcissistic psychopaths and other losers.
