Can Sesame Street songs "torture" anyone?

They were written to teach children colours and strange words but distorted versions of bouncy Sesame Street songs have been used to torture Guantanamo Bay prisons for days, it has been claimed.
The staggering assertion has been made in a documentary from Al Jazeera and follows previous claims in 2008 that heavier tunes such as Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ and Drowning Pool’s ‘Bodies’ were played incessantly to prisoners at the naval base in Cuba.
According to the report ‘innocent children’s songs were abused for inhumane purposes’ as music from the popular US children programme was blasted repeatedly into prisoners’ ears.
I wish everyone used children’s songs to “torture” people.
Yes, I am sure the people who were tortured then murdered in Syria would have preferred a barrage of Sesame Street ballads to artillery, torture and murder.
So much for winning Muslim hearts and minds … after this these guys are REALLY gonna hate America… As a kid I thought Snuffaluffagus (sp?) was sheer torture. Ruined every show for me. And “One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other” was very hard to get out of my head…

I think there are other choices that would be even more effective. A few days of Helen Reddy would have even the most hardened terrorist either spilling his guts or begging for a bullet.
I don’t understand. I thought the Muppets were the terrorists. After all, Bert was one of bin Laden’s closest allies.
oh come on..they were just teaching them english and about American culture…how could anything as educational and innocuous as Sesame Street be torture….lol

Prolonged sessions of Musak or Mozart can drive anyone over the age of ten either up the wall, or over the top.
