Spike Lee at Madison Square Garden
The buzz in Madison Square Garden during the current New York Knicks basketball season has not been experienced in years. To the amazement of basketball aficionados, a Knicks ticket is a hot consumer item as Carmelo Anthony and Jeremy Lin (before his knee surgery) have converted a lackluster team into a possible playoff team, albeit not one that is likely translatable into an NBA championship. Nonetheless, the early success means that seats on the basketball floor, in what is sometimes referred to as celebrity row, are filled.
One of those seats is occupied at almost every home game by Spike Lee, the filmmaker and avid fan of the Knicks. He is one of the regulars along with Woody Allen, Matthew Modine, and a host of other film personalities. However, Mr. Lee stands apart; he has insinuated himself into the game by cheerleading, confirming referees’ decisions, and engaging in trash talk with opposing players.
Clearly one might ask why Mr. Lee has this privileged position. Should anyone else behave in a similar manner, he would be escorted from the Garden. Is it because he is a highly regarded black filmmaker? Or is it his friendship with the players? Perhaps his yearly purchase of celebrity seats offers license other fans do not receive?
Well, as we all know, Spike’s got a race problem.

I have a modest proposal. Every time Spike engages in inappropriate behavior, EVERYONE in the audience should imitate him. Okay, not everyone will agree to be in on the joke, but as many people, seated closely together, as possible. Let Madison Square Garden justify throwing the groundlings out while allowing Spike to misbehave.
I quit caring what Spike Lee and other celebs do and say a long time ago. There is no relevancy to them within my life. The sooner PJM and others does the same the better off we’ll all be. Who really gives a shite what idiots like MaDonna or that other tart (Lady GaGa? Lady? HA!!) who’s in competition with her are doing and saying?

I don’t have any way to get you the information that you want but I can tell you this much about Spike Lee’s movies. A few years ago my son was enrolled as a freshman in an english class at Northern Michigan University. The class was taught by a very liberal black lady professor who built the entire semester around the viewing and subsequent commentary about Spike Lee movies. I have no idea what principles of the english language were taught or learned by the use of Lee’s movies. “Liberal Race Indoctrination 101″ I suppose.

I was amazed when I watched the documentary “Hoop Dreams” and saw Spike Lee attending training camps for future NBA stars, and being invited to lecture the kids. What in God’s name is a filmmaker being allowed to do that for?
Spike Lee, along with others like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, have made a career and fortune exploiting Blacks and perpetuating a racial divide. Why would he ever support meaningful dialog on race when he’s grown fat on race baiting? He may have at one time been genuinely interested in helping the Black condition, but now he knows he can can only be somebody by continuing to produce antagonistic cinema that race baiters in the media eat up.

Spunk Lee is a POS. Funny, he, Oprah, Odummer, Danny El Dooche Glover, any rap thug, and the rest of the black celebs, and the other black racist/racialist who “made it” owe everything they have to white progs who, in order, to get blacks on their side, promoted them.

I had the distinct displeasure of attending NYU film school with Spike Lee. Usually with age comes maturity and mellowing, but it’s evident that over the past 30 odd years, he has become even more of an unreconstructed, blinkered, philistine, pig-ignorant, noxious bigot and Jew-hater.

Even as a film maker he proved to be a one trick pony. His earliest movies, e.g., “She’s Gotta Have It” and “School Daze,” were low budget, funky and off beat movies. By the time he had real funding he showed he was incapable of telling a story. The Autobiography of Malcolm X is a good story. The movie “X” sucked because Spike Lee failed to tell a story of a man and instead tried to be cute with cinematic tricks.
He’s a jerk and a revolting person – always has been and always will be. He’s got nothing good to offer anybody except to the pitiful paid friends and hangers-on who suck-up to him.
I don’t care in the least about how Spike Lee behaves at NBA games. What’s crucial here, is his idiotic quest against George Zimmerman.
Lee has shown himself to be a racist and a thug, using his influence to recklessly endanger of the lives and health of people he didn’t know, because he thinks he knows enough about the Trayvon Martin shooting, and George Zimmerman’s guilt, to spout about it from his position as a famous celebrity. Maybe Lee was influenced by the reckless and incindiary propaganda that passes for reporting at NBC and ABC these days? If so, he should have known better. It’s high time that everyone ignores the ignorant-ass pronouncements of all of the above.
