Anderson Cooper of CNN is a journalist with the common touch. A man who understands how the rest of us live:
For many, a cup of coffee offers an essential kick-start to the day.
But it seems this is not the case for American newsman Anderson Cooper — who tried the caffeine-filled drink for the first time yesterday.
* * *
Cooper then went on to try something else that has never passed his lips before — spinach.
In fact, picky eater Anderson revealed he is not a lover of vegetables in the slightest, saying he has not tried most of the green variety.
As for the spinach, it was ‘gross’ and ‘slithery’ in his esteemed opinion.
And it was only in 2009 that the then-41-year old anchorman professed to trying Reddi-wip for the first time. As Mary Katharine Ham quipped back then, “I must admit, this is not the household item I would have expected Anderson Cooper to be unfamiliar with, but alas:”
And as longtime readers of PJM know, don’t even get him started discussing tea.

And he comes from which planet again? Of course, his peculiar dietary habits probably explain a whole lot….
His dietary habits are probably one reason why he has that vampirish Julian Assange look about him.
Well, I’m a picky eater too and I don’t like coffee. That’s something you have to learn to like and I never did. I’m kind of glad I don’t drink coffee – it’s saved me a lot of money.
If you make it yourself, it costs virtually nothing. Hundreds and hundreds of cups for a few bucks.
Presumably you know you don’t like it because you tried it at least once. But this is the first time Cooper even *tried* it!
Personally, I didn’t start liking coffee until I was 25. Because it’s so ubiquitous, I would try it every once in awhile to convince myself I still hated it. Then one time I thought, “This isn’t so bad.” And today I’m a regular consumer of the black brew.
He sounds like a really fun date…..NOT!
Perhaps Monsieur Cooper could start his own organization. May I suggest a name? “The Twee Party.”
This guy knows enough to make smarmy sexual comments, but doesnt know what spinach or redi-whip is… is he like a 40 year old mommies boy with a weird old uncle?
I feel his pain with canned spinach. Only fresh for me.
“As for the spinach, it was ‘gross’ and ‘slithery’ in his esteemed opinion.”
I can think of some other substances Mr. Cooper has ingested that would be considered “gross” and “slithery” by a lot of people.
There is one common food item Vanderbilt heir Anderson Cooper is familiar with: tea bags.
Well he does work for the communist new network, what do you expect… These lefties are on a different planet.
