Whoever said Hollywood doesn’t reflect the world? Our globe has gone berserk and Hollywood along with it. Witnesseth: Mel Gibson, one of our country’s most whacko anti-Semites, is planning to make a movie based on the Maccabees (the Hanukah story) from a script by Joe Eszterhas. Reparations, anyone?
Meanwhile, Sean Stone, 24-year old sprout of Oliver, is off to Tehran making a movie in support of the mad mullahs. (Well, the latter isn’t so unexpected – if you believe the old saw about the apple not falling far from the tree.)
This confluence of events was irresistible to Lionel and me for the new Poliwood which you can view in the above clip, or at PJTV.com.
By the way, Lionel thinks Gibson will never make the film. I disagree. Gibson’s pockets are deep. He can do anything he wants. And action-adventure like the Maccabees is right in his Braveheart sweet spot. And whatever you think of Mel’s bizarre religious views, he can direct.
Watch the POLIWOOD and see what you think.

The biggest problem is the quality of the press we have today. Is obvious that editors and journalists who know Mel Gibson. They know that Mel is not anti-Semitic, they know that Mel is not racist, they know that Mel is not the big monster they want to do.
But what is the real interest of the press today? The press speaks the truth? Or is just to make a profit? Even if that profit causes the death of one or more people? This is serious, my friends. The press today
is not honest, is not clean.
The press made so many achievements in the world and helped so much humanity, now becomes a mercenary activity. The press destroys the life of any person in exchange for some money. Without scruples, without any shame, without any human feeling.
Mel Gibson has been married 28 years, today most people are not married 5 years. Mel Gibson has earned everything he has with honest work. Mel Gibson gave an honorable life for his children. Mel Gibson is not perfect, but he was always a hard worker and honest.
What Mel Gibson said about Jews was at a time in which he was drunk. This could not be taken into account for 4 reasons: 1) All people talk nonsense when they are drunk, and most people drink. 2) Nobody is perfect and nobody has the right to judge him or judge anyone else. 3) There are more serious and urgent things on earth for the press attention. 4) The Jews are wonderful, but they are no better and no worse than any other people.
The big problem with Mel Gibson, in my view, was he had a relationship with a woman of questionable goals. No woman who is thinking of building a serious and honest family, would be recording conversations of boyfriend, for money later. This relationship was the reason for so much misery in this man’s life.
But the press, even knowing the truth, is not interested in truth. The press sells persons as stores selling products. The press puts the persons to the lions. The press does anything for money.
Unfortunately many people need the press to fight for them, but the social press that looked abandoned persons, this press is dead.
The great comfort is: all mediocre journalists who destroy the image of Mel Gibson will never be clean and honest as Mel Gibson, they will never be the excellent professional and sensitive man who Mel Gibson is.
They are throwing stones at a good man, but I don’t callous to my mouth, I don’t close my eyes, I’m not complicit, I scream and I protest.
I do not know crap about movies, but like Mel I am a drunk with Irish DNA who has said and done horrible things. We barf up things from out subconcious and later regret hurting other people.
I suspect Mel is trying to make ammends. However ammends reqire a deft touch. He has to go slow and be careful.
In vino veritas. If I got drunk and was arrested by the cops, I would never blabber – out of left field – about how blacks or Hispanics start all the wars in the world, or are ruining America or are inferior and should stop breeding. That’s cause I have nothing against blacks and Hispanics and hence there’s nothing to come out from my pie-hole in that respect, even if I were fueled up on thirty shots of vodka.
There’s a saying in the Talmud about how people tell the truth *as they see it*, when they are angry, when money is involved, and when they are drunk. I knew you would get the Gibson lovers commenting here in defense of the indefensible, there are so many of them out there in ‘redstate’ land. Didn’t you know that Roger? Or did you decide to wilfully ignore that in building up PJM? And will you continue to ignore these kind of tells in playing to your new-found base? We know the answer to that one.
Gotta say that Gibson directing a film about Judah of Maccabee – with a script by Esterhaz!! – is simply hysterical. Kind of Ben Hur meets Basic Instinct. I gotta say I’m almost looking forward to it. It could even be a masterpiece, you never know. Seriously. Or it could be an utter train wreck, who knows?
Actually I don’t make such a big deal about Gibson’s anti-Semitism, since there are plenty of Hollywood ‘Jews’ who are anti-Semitic, always have been; and they have less excuse. And they get a free ride because they are Jewish, and their anti-Semitism comes with liberal ‘anti-racist’ sloganese which makes it just fine and dandy of course. What did that one fat Weinstein (he of Miramax) say about Israel? Horrible anti-Semitic gibberish. Where was Roger Simon when that went down? Where was anybody? What of Jon ‘don’t call me Liebowitz’ Stewart’s anti-Semitism? If you have to ask, well just look up his disgusting anti-Israel broadcast he did during the Gaza War (which I have mentioned here before). What of Sean Penn and girlfriend Scarlett Johansson (both Jewish) attending a glitzy Al-Jazeerah bash? OK it is not anti-Semitic per se, but it is mega-dumb and mega-dhimmi and frankly deserving of withering scorn. Hollywood ‘Jews’ are a pathetic disgrace, when not self-loathing, simply apathetic. And cowardly and clueless in equal measure. Gibson, who cares?
Bravo. Could not have said it better. Bravo!
Mel strikes me as being a whacko with deep-seated paranoia much of which involves Jews.
If I were a Jew I would not want to hang out with him.
OTOH, as a non-Jew I would not want hang out with him either.
He is a full-blown loon.
With that said, I don’t believe Mel wants to see the Jews wiped off the face of the Earth and Israel destroyed, and it should be kept in mind that there are those who literally want to see the Jews wiped off the face of the Earth and Israel destroyed.
And the really dangerous ones keep this opinion to themselves.
Not meaning to give you any deep-seated paranoia here.
If it makes you feel better, keep in mind that Mel hates the English a lot more than he hates the Jews. I’m surprised that he is doing the Maccabees rather than a remake of Exodus with the English portrayed as effeminate and really, really evil.
“In Vino Veritas?” Horseapples.
This culture of hypocrites will damn Mel Gibson for babbling, while DRUNK, what Jesse Jackson and Farrakhan say while stone cold sober.
Mel Gibson apologized for his drunken tirade, and seeks to make amends. Think we’ll get such apologies from the race baiters and Mad Mullahs?
Mark (not a gospel pun) my words : Gibson will use this “movie” to portray these Jews as bloodthirsty Taliban type, killing for god and killing their own in a pursuit of religious purity, all as a set up for the “murder” of jesus – the Maccabees made an alliance with Rome, the ascendant at the time – Rome happy to gain a foothold in a Selucid kingdom. If not for the Maccabees going with Rome (later the hasmoneans) there’d be no crucifixtion – get it?
So once again, this will be a movie blaming the Jews for the murder of Christ – setting forces into motion as a people’s disobedience to god and earning the wrath of god, resulting in Christendom.
What don’t you people get about this jerk? He’s a white boy from Yonkers.
wake up son. Gibson is an Irish-American, not from Yonkers.
Obviously religion is not your strong suit.
The Maccabees film will be about what it takes to keep your culture and religion strong in the face of secular corruption. the Books of Maccabees are only carried by the Catholic canon and it’s sister churches in the eastern faiths, not the other Christian denominations or the hebrew canon.
eventually the Pharisidic sect would be seduced by the secular Greeks and Romans into giving up their faith, leaving dead rituals and formality instead. It’s a lesson which all religions can learn.
In the time of Christ, a Jew would have been the name for someone from the tribe of Judah or from the province of Judea.
There were many sects who followed the law of Moses: the Saducees, Pharisees, the Essenses, the zealots, the Christians, and many more lost to anquity.
It’s impossible to blame the Jews for anything at Christ time, much less deicide, since there was no ‘Jewish’ religion until a few centuries after Christ death: the new sects of rabbinical Judaism and Kabbalah.
The Maccabee story is known and important to Roman Catholics. I do not see anything out of the norm for Mel to be making this movie. I look forward to seeing it.
The MSM uses the word “anti-semite” for their own purpose. On some issues they stand with the Jews against “anti-semites” such as Gibson, to make themselves appear politically correct. On others, they stand with the Palestinians, for the same reason.
It is malicious slander to paste the “anti-semite” label on Mel Gibson.
I watched for over two years after the release of the historically accurate “The Passion” as the Jewish press slimed Mel for an anti-semitic bias for which there was no evidence.
Mel took it all in gentlemanly silence, although no doubt privately pained, until the inebriated comment that, however wrong, was indeed mild for one so unfairly the object of a massive and sustained attack by the object of his insult.
