What's Old Is New Again, and Militias Are the New Black

Thanks to a successful leftist smear campaign, most Americans now see militia members as being nothing more than drooling, wacko, camo-clad, right-wingers sipping Black Rifle coffee in their backyard pillbox, stupidly unaware the FBI has a drone watching them from above.

Militias date back to the origins of the United States and earlier. They were created for the same reasons we are seeing a resurgence in militias today: to stand up against a government that can't be trusted.

From MilitaryHistoryNow.com:

Perhaps the strongest cultural tradition to transfer from England to its colonies was the distrust of a standing army that could enforce the crown’s will and circumvent parliament. England’s strength lay in its navy, which was out of sight – and often out of mind – and could not project power inland. The army was not considered a gentleman’s occupation and soldiers were looked upon as mere pawns.

Founding Father James Madison understood the need for militias better than most.

"Because since inception, militias have been tasked with stopping those who hold public office from exceeding their authority or those seeking to enact legislation outside of their operating charter," Madison wrote in the Federalist Papers, which is "a crucial check against incremental encroachment by the state."

Madison was on a roll:

Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprizes of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of.

The Founding Fathers knew something few seem to realize today: power corrupts horrible people. Thus, they wrote the need for a militia into the 2nd Amendment: "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Leftists like to pretend there are differing interpretations of the 2nd Amendment, but it seems incontestable to me. Armed militias are a necessary segment of our freedom. Easy peasy, unless you're a demented communist.

History is full of political tyrants, but we only need to revisit the 20th century to see why an armed populace is a good thing. Walking an entire neighborhood into a gas chamber becomes more difficult when they shoot at those sent to round them up. Stealing food from, and starving to death, four million Ukrainians becomes a sticky issue when the farmers are armed, organized, and firing at your head. When faced with firepower, a dictator's paramilitary myrmidons aren't so eager to kick in your door.

To every push, there is a pull, so it's no surprise militias are popping up around the nation as the DOJ kicks in doors of peaceful Americans whom Joe Biden wants in prison. Not to mention, we are in the midst of a Democrat-founded crime wave. The southern border is open to every criminal on the planet. Our jails were emptied in 2019, and cashless bail keeps thugs on the streets. And yet the swamp wigglers in Washington, D.C., wonder why militias are growing like dandelions.

FACT-O-RAMA! The federal government's actions are pushing Americans into militias. If they stopped harassing peaceful people and encouraging criminals, there would be fewer militias. It's ALMOST as though the feds are pushing armed Americans together on purpose.

Last year, Michigan's commie governor, Stretchin' Gretchen Whitmer, signed four bills creating suspicious "red flag" laws. You know, for "safety."

Michiganders can have their guns taken away if a police officer, health care specialist, or family member can convince a court they are a danger to themselves or others.

In short, you can lose your guns if your blue-haired simp-in-law sees your Betsy Ross flag, Ashli Babbitt t-shirt, and Gadsden cap—or sees you reading this article about the necessity of the 2nd Amendment—because the FBI STATED that all of these things make you a potential "anti-government or anti-authority violent extremist."

See how that works, Michigan?

  • You put a patriotic sticker on your car
  • Your gendervoid niecephew sees the sticker and gets "triggered"
  • A local commie judge agrees you are a threat to the pinkos of, say, Ann Arbor
  • Your guns are purloined
  • Repeat as necessary until law-abiding patriots are disarmed

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED-O-RAMA! Democrats allow crime to run rampant, then use gun-related crime stats to enact bogus laws meant to infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of We the People.

Holton Township, Mich., located in Muskegon County, has had enough anti-2nd-Amendment tyranny and declared their town a sanctuary city to preserve their gun rights. They also formed a militia.

Michigan's Red Flag law isn't likely to stop a gun crime committed by a criminal with a felonious rap sheet because he/she/zhe probably doesn't have the legal right to own one anyway.

LIBERTY-O-RAMA! Fifty-four of Michigan's 83 counties are now 2nd Amendment Sanctuary locales.

Despite what the leftoids want to believe, militias aren't always "angry, white people." Black militias are sprouting up as well.

The black militia, "Not F*cking Around Coalition" (NVAC), one of the largest militias in the U.S., has units in various states, including Kentucky, where armed militias are not allowed to march with their weapons. NFAC marched in Louisville anyway.

“When you pick up a weapon, you go from being a subject to a citizen, just like that," NFAC leader John "Grandmaster Jay" Johnson told a crowd in Kentucky.

Johnson was the only member of NFAC to be arrested. He was convicted of pointing his semi-automatic rifle at a police officer posted on top of a building. He was sentenced to seven years and two months in prison. He was also convicted of assaulting a federal officer, but that charge, which would have snagged him 20 years behind bars, was dismissed.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, whose county shares a border with two of New York City's five boroughs, has recently decided to deputize citizens in case local police are overwhelmed during a catastrophic event. Democrats jumped, jived, and wailed that this "militia" might be utilized against BLM and Hamanazi protesters, both of which have been violent in the past.

FACT-O-RAMA! Militias are mostly legal but you should consult an expert in your state before you start recruiting. Starting a militia will invariably draw the attention of federal authorities, and you know what they did to the family of Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge, which many believe led to militias being formed.

What Have We Learned?

We have learned that militias of private citizens are mostly legal and go back to the earliest days of our nation. Militias are enshrined in the 2nd Amendment, yet they have been condemned as groups of fanatical wingnuts.

Most importantly, we have learned there would likely be far fewer militias if the federal government would simply leave law-abiding people alone. Some believe the Ruby Ridge atrocity led to a renewed interest in militias. Today's current climate of crime, illegal immigration, and flat-out American Marxism has all but guaranteed that people, most of whom just wanted to be left alone, will buy guns and band together. And here is the fun part: All of those determining factors are intentional.
