‘Obama, Secret Skeet Shooter’
Linking to the astonishing quote today from the president that “up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time,” Tom Maguire adds:
Until we see more evidence this is one more for the “Who Does He Think He Is Kidding?” file.
GEEZ, I WAS OFF BY MORE THAN FOUR YEARS: Back in the 2008 campaign Obama said, apparently with a straight face, that he once considered enlisting. Yes, in the military!
To which I snarked:
Oh, well — I can’t wait for October when Obama will put on a Republican-looking woodlands camo outfit and go duck hunting.
Obviously, Obama’s polling numbers were strong enough that he didn’t feel the need to do a Kerry and ask, “can I get me a hunting license here?” while the minicams rolled in the fall of 2008. Why the change of heart now? Does he expect anyone in the Bitter Clinger community to actually buy his story?

The President has decided to go for the jugular, by attacking the legitimacy of the Republican majority in the House of Representatives.
These things tend to inflame opinion. So in that spirit, how many seats do the Democrats hold because illegal aliens are counted in the census and are not differentiated for apportionment? Quite a few, I believe.
I’d believe that he lights up more pot than shoots skeet.
He must go shooting all the time with his imaginary, composite, ex-girlfriend.

I’m calling BS on this one and think that rascal Tapper ought to start yanking the WH chain.
1st – Obama has a well documented aversion to Camp David. So let’s see that itinerary and some video – not photos – video. Because his body language while handling a firearm can’t be faked and a newb sticks out like a sore thumb.
2nd – Did anyone else notice the misogyny in his statement? Women and youth make up a large percentage of the personal safety, hunting and competitive shooting community. It’s the one place where men, women, youth, seniors, and the handicapped all are equal with the same rules on the same courses.
3rd – He made a big deal of excluding his daughters. Any responsible parent, whatever your personal view, who has handled a firearm realizes the importance of teaching your kids how to be safe around them. The sane ones among us want our kids to be able to safely and competently handle firearms. My own kids have been involved in hunting and competitive shooting sports since they were 8 years old. Girls and boys compete against each other equally.
Of course he only shoots them during skeet season and he donates the meat to charity.
Will no one think of the poor endangered skeet? We need the People for the Ethical Treatment of Skeets.
Seriously, the day he handles a gun I bet his security detail calls in sick.
We do have a very dedicated group out there working continuously for the protection of those cute little skeet….. They’re called “Crappy Shots and Newbs”…. unfortunately, with a little practice and good coaching it gets pretty hard to miss.
If Obama really wants desperately to convince us that he’s a macho kind of guy, he should invite Dick Cheney out to Camp David for a little skeet shooting.
C’mon tough guy. Show us what you’re REALLY made of.
