Back in December, President Obama went Christmas shopping at local Best Buy* with your money, and said to the unfortunate clerk surrounded by multiple cameras, and a phalanx of Secret Service agents, “Let’s see if my credit card still works,” Real Clear Politics reports:
“It will be really embarrassing if it doesn’t,” remarked President Obama as he was attempting to pay for some items he bought while Christmas shopping. (at the 2:39 mark in the video [at RCP])
And now we know: “White House Forgets to Pay Father’s Day Lunch Tab:”
Amid the bustle of President Obama’s surprise stop for barbecue Wednesday the White House apparently overlooked one key detail: the bill.
Celebrating Father’s Day early, the president had lunch with two service members and two local barbers at Kenny’s BBQ on Capitol Hill.
As the group chatted about fatherhood, the president enjoyed a steaming plate of pork ribs with hot sauce, collard greens, red beans and rice and cornbread.
The bill for the president and his four guests was $55.58, but was left unpaid at the point of sale, according to pool reports.
The White House corrected the oversight and settled up the tab by the end of the business day.
Great, he’s gone from holding himself out as the second coming of Lincoln, FDR and JFK to imitating Howard Dean in 2004. Forward!
Perhaps Michelle should have asked for readers to include gift cards when she requested they send Dear Leader their Father’s Day wishes.

This is especially delicious considering this quote from President Obama:
Obama compared Republicans to a person who orders a steak dinner and martini and then, “just as you’re sitting down, they leave, and accuse you of running up the tab.”
Oh, irony. You’re so playful sometimes.
