‘The Obama Scandal is at Columbia’
Wayne Allyn Root writes that he was a classmate of Obama at Columbia University. He posits a simple strategy for Mitt Romney: “call a press conference and issue a challenge in front of the nation. He should agree to release more of his tax returns, only if Obama unseals his college records. Simple and straight-forward. Mitt should ask ‘What could possibly be so embarrassing in your college records from 29 years ago, that you are afraid to let America’s voters see it? If it’s THAT bad, maybe it’s something the voters ought to see.’ Suddenly the tables are turned. Now Obama is on the defensive:”
Now all of this mystery could be easily and instantly dismissed if Obama released his Columbia transcripts to the media. But even after serving as President for 3 1/2 years he refuses to unseal his college records. Shouldn’t the media be as relentless in pursuit of Obama’s records as Romney’s? Shouldn’t they be digging into Obama’s past–beyond what he has written about himself–with the same boundless enthusiasm as Mitt’s?
The first question I’d ask is, if you had great grades, why would you seal your records? So let’s assume Obama got poor grades. Why not release the records? He’s President of the free world, for gosh sakes. He’s commander-in-chief of the U.S. military. Who’d care about some poor grades from three decades ago, right? So then what’s the problem? Doesn’t that make the media suspicious? Something doesn’t add up.
Secondly, if he had poor grades at Occidental, how did he get admitted to an Ivy League university in the first place? And if his grades at Columbia were awful, how’d he ever get into Harvard Law School? So again those grades must have been great, right? So why spend millions to keep them sealed?
Third, how did Obama pay for all these fancy schools without coming from a wealthy background? If he had student loans or scholarships, would he not have to maintain good grades?
I can only think of one answer that would explain this mystery.
Here’s my gut belief: Obama got a leg up by being admitted to both Occidental and Columbia as a foreign exchange student. He was raised as a young boy in Indonesia. But did his mother ever change him back to a U.S. citizen? When he returned to live with his grandparents in Hawaii or as he neared college-age preparing to apply to schools, did he ever change his citizenship back? I’m betting not.
That dovetails well with Bookworm’s question from May: “Is Regents of the University of California v. Bakke, a 1978 case rejecting academic racial quotas, the smoking gun behind Obama’s Kenyan identity?” Not to mention Obama’s own case of on-again/off-again geographic amnesia.
But like the accusations of scandal currently swirling around Harry Reid, Mr. Obama could make all of this go away by releasing his records.
Not sure that helps Romney as much one would think. To win in November Romney needs to convert swing voters and Democrats. Showing Obama registered as a foreign exchange student only helps gain Republican and some blue colar Democrats. Showing Romney made a bunch of money and paid a very low income tax (EG wall street banker) will likely cost more of the Democrats he has already picked up.
Unless we can talk Sheldon Adelson or the Trumpster to offer a $10 million dollar reward for Obozo’s Columbia records……..
It only hurts romney if Obama takes the deal, and both sides actually release the records. If not, then romney has a legit excuse to hide his tax records, and the spotlight shifts to obama. And then anytime some leftists goes on about the tax records, we have an immediate comeback on the academic records, and it becomes Obama who looks like he is hiding something.
Yep. I’ve been wondering since 2008 how the media could NOT ask the simple question ‘What is so damaging/embarrassing/damning in Obama’s school records that he would go to these extremes to seal them?’
I suspect that there is ample evidence that Obama claimed to born in Kenya, a foreign exchange student and whatever else he could get away with in order to jump the queue ahead of more deserving people. The embargo on real in-depth investigative reporting on this thin resumed political neophyte was scandalous and will be help up to future generations as one of the greatest cons ever pulled on the American people with the full support and backing of major media outlets.
I hope Mitt does make the challenge and I hope they excoriate any ‘news’ outlets for their dereliction of duty 4 years ago.
Entry as foreign student is very probable, and it is supported by recent revelations about Ivy League school practices. Penn Law and later Harvard Law hired a second-rate law professor, MA senatorial candidate Elizabeth Warren, based on her self-identified false claim of being Native American. The diversity policies of these “elite” schools is scandalous. If your ideology is radically liberal enough, students will gain entry into the elite schools to bolter the elite class of lawyers, journalists, educators and politicians.
As quick as Obama is to associate himself with anything he believes will burnish his image, we can be certain of one thing: Somewhere in his sealed records is at least one significant fact he is either ashamed or afraid to reveal. Simple rational analysis forces this conclusion. No one, ESPECIALLY Obama, would behave as he has for any other conceivable reason.
I would prefer Mitt tie the release of his tax returns to the release of the Fast and Furious documents. If he did that, then every time a one of Obama’s surrogates (i.e. reporters) brought up the subject of releasing tax returns, Mitt could respond that he was waiting for Obama to release the Fast and Furious documents. The more they bring up the tax returns, the more Fast and Furious is brought to the attention of the general public.
MW, Good point. The Fast and Furious documents are current, from the past couple of years, and therefore the media wouldn’t be able to make the argument that Obama’s possibly poor grades are irrelevant ancient history.

The answer to both questions is yes, but it ain’t gonna happen. The MSM does not want its illusions shattered, so it refuses to ask these questions.

I always accepted Obama’s claim that he was born in Hawaii, but I can certainly give a lot of credence to his claiming foreign birth for advantage. It falls right in line with the character of the man.

What? Once born a US citizen, you are always a US citizen unless (as an adult) you renounce your citizenship. Children born in the US are US citizens even if taken out of the US the next day; children born outside the US with one or more parents who are US citizens are US citizens from birth, regardless of the amount of time they spend outside (or inside) the US.
Doug – the presumption regarding Obama changing his citizenship back is based on the belief that he had changed his citizenship in Indonesia. Many believe that in order to go to certain schools (all schools?) in Indonesia at the time Obama was there, one HAD, by law, to be an Indonesian citizen. Obama’s own school records from the time list him as Muslim and and Indonesian citizen.
My belief is that it is just as likely that his step-father slipped a few bucks to somebody to just list it as such as any actual change in citizenship. Even if my belief is true, this is still potentially damaging. I mean, we ALREADY saw what Obama had to OK as part of publisher’s bio – that he was Kenyan. I have no doubt that he was *claiming* to be a foreign student for years.
In short, lying his butt off for years for his own personal gain.

Funny thing… I recently saw a video of Robert Gibbs talking about Romney’s tax returns. He said that if Romney was unwilling to release his tax records, then he must have something to hide. Well, could the same logic be applied to 0bama?? The irony…

Bookworm is I think mistaken. Bakke would not have created any problem for him. His race and his background would have been sufficient. He didn’t need to pretend to be Kenyan, unless he was seeking a special scholarship or entrance lowering for foreign students. My guess–and it is a guess– is that he got into Columbia’s General Studies school which largely was tailored to foreign students and somehow parlayed that into a transfer to Columbia for his last year.

As to Romney’s tax-returns, I agree with whomever it was that said that instead of releasing the returns, just send out copies of the cancelled checks he wrote to the IRS.
If I were Romney, I’d go one step further. Not only offer to release my tax returns but my college transcripts. Even accounting for grade inflation, I’d wager that Obama’s grade were lower than Romney’s.
Well, I went to Columbia and I’m certainly not releasing my grades either. It is just not done. Don’t you realize you are just being tiresome?
Interesting. Of course, at the time your Ivy Leagues, from what I understand, were using foreign exchange students from South America’s upper class elites to meet their domestic Hispanic admission quotas: that basically meant no one from the local barrio was going to Stanford, but the upper class student from Spain or Mexico got counted as a barrio brother: hey, even a Norwegian looking Elizabeth Warren could pass for American Indian at Harvard. As I recall, the Bakke decision really didn’t define a quota and so it was basically worthless for guiding future admissions policies (and it wasn’t about gender quotas either). The decision ended up like the Supreme Court’s treatment of pornography: I can’t define it (as a judge), but I know it (pornography or a quota) when I see it. That in turn meant that perceived future violations of the Bakke decision meant the individual had to go through all the expense and time in the courts to see if the judges could recognize a quota.
I agree with the idea that Obama fraudulently gained admission and/or financing by claiming to be a foreign student. There’s also a question, IIRC, about his Connecticut-coded SSN when he never lived in that state. Way too many questions that the media ignored during Obama’s meteoric rise. I feel like we’re living in some conspiracy novel.
Obama will never release his college records, because they prove not only that he was admitted as a sub-standard, affirmative-action ringer without academic qualification. His college records identify him as a foreign student, an Indonesian national, who preserved his foreign “scholarship” by not applying for U.S. citizenship.
Since The Kenyan was not a U.S. citizen then, when did he become one? We know from Sheriff Arpaio’s investigation that Zero’s Social Security Number is fraudulent. Why? Because Obama is an illegal alien, not eligible for Social Security, who is perpetuating a criminal fraud, wholly in character, to maintain himself in a high public office which he is not legally qualified to occupy. Obama won’t release his naturalization papers because, like his Hawaiian birth certificate, they don’t exist.
We put “scholarship” here in quotes to emphasize that Obama’s financial support in college had nothing to do with academics. This Muslim-in-all-but- name was being promoted by a foreign power, apparently the Saudis, to gain credentials that would ease his career in American government, with the explicit goal of undermining the Jewish State of Israel.
Merely paying the tuition of such a lazy, undistinguished incompetent would, however, not get Obama-Soetoro admitted to Columbia or Harvard. Additional incentive has to have been offered and accepted. If I were prosecuting this historic fraud, I would subpoena the bank and tax records of the presidents, provosts, and academic deans of Columbia and Harvard, with the expectation of finding seven-figure bribes greasing The Kenyan’s otherwise inexplicable admission.
The conclusion of this successful conspiracy against America now unfolds. The Democrat Party is complicit in allowing the takeover of the U.S. government by a foreign power, through a paid agent working to destroy us.

Quite correct, but lose the first four words. It ain’t no “gut belief”, it is “what happened”. Period. You know it, I know it, he knows it. How do I know it? Some guy on the phone told me so.
So say it: that’s what happened, end of story. That IS the truth. Done deal. Now it is up to the President to disprove it, or it stands as true.

Another consideration: Obama’s transcript would show him to be an extreme leftist with possible communist leanings, like his mother. If he wrote a senior thesis, what was the topic?
Sounds like a fine idea, but we already have proven obama released a birth certificate that has been proven to be a fabrication.

That would be interesting to see that. I can visualize CNN & consort having to choose between accusing Romney of threatening his opponent with a low blow or say that the whole thing is silly and insignificant. How about one year tax disclosure for Reid naming his source and another one for Obama unveiling his college records?
But that’s only a dream. I believe Romney would choose to keep a dignified demeanor to provide a revealing contrast with the tantrums of his opponent rather than adopting his scurrilous tactics.
In this interview (via Moe Lane), Romney claims to have been valedictorian of his undergraduate class:
LAMB: You finished first in your class at Brigham Young University in Utah.
ROMNEY: Almost. I did very well at Brigham Young and I was the valedictorian in terms of speaking at the graduation. And I think I had the highest grade point in my college of humanities. But I don’t know who was number one in the entire class. So I will correct the record on that. I graduated with highest honors and I did pretty well at Brigham Young.
Has anyone checked that?
Leaving aside any questions of nationality, the Choom-master is probably afraid to compare GPA’s with Romney. Coming in second is no good in a two-man race.
The simplest answer is that he got poor grades. While poor grades from George Bush may not have been a big deal–in fact, they were a good laugh line from him–poor grades from The Smartest Man Who Was Ever President In The Whole History Of The World is not a good thing. They undermine the claim upon which his Chauncey Gardiner (correct spelling) reputation has been constructed.
Obama was a reasonably intelligent man with a beautiful Stentorian whose skin color made him attractive to white liberals wishing to flatter their own social vanity. Had he been a verifiable genius with a ghetto accent, many fewer doors would have opened. And one of those closed doors would’ve been the White House’s.

What I’d like to see aren’t Obama’s grades at places like Occidental, Colombia and Harvard — I’d wager that they’re pretty good, given that grade inflation is the handmaiden of Affirmative Action — but his SAT and LSAT scores. Those would make it damningly obvious that a man who by his own admission (1) spent much of his high school days skipping class and doping out, and (2) spent a lot of his time at college seeking out leftist mentors, snorting coke and engaging in clap-trap discussions about Marxism — didn’t get into college or Harvard Law School on the merits.
What we presently have in the White House is what I have described as either “The Potemkin Candidate” or “Cool Hand Luke.” He bluffed his way “With a handful of nuthin” into becoming President of the Harvard Law Review despite never having produced any scholarly articles there and into becoming President of the United States by claiming that his “executive experience” consisted of running his election campaign.
He’s finding out that it’s one thing to lie your butt off to get the job, quite another to lie your butt off to keep it.
It’s not his grades being exposed that keep Obama lying awake at night. It’s having the fact get out that but for Affirmative Action he’d never have made it into college or law school at all that terrify him. Nobody wants as his political epitaph, “Hey — he’s just a great big cockroach!” But if the truth ever sees the light of day, that will be exactly how Obama will be remembered.

I would throw down the gauntlet in the most public arena possible at the most opportune moment, preferably face to face at one of the debates, or in front of a large crowd such as at the Republican National Convention.
The trouble is that everyone who’s been covering for Obama will continue to do so. The records will be lost or faked.

JAL: In his memoir, Obama recalled that he was a member of the “Black Students Organization” at Columbia. It was of course a highly political group, which among other things protested South Africa’s apartheid regime (NTTAWWT).
The funny thing is, Obama is not in the BSO group photo which appears in Columbia’s 1983 yearbook, nor is he listed in the photo caption as one of those “not present”.
I will vote for him, but I honestly don’t think Romney has the cajones to confront any of this. Like McCain, he’s intimidated by Obama’s skin color, and I don’t see him as much of a street fighter anyway. I see him as a person who largely accepts the left-wing cultural viewpoint. It’s too bad.
I think we have to wait another cycle for the New Republican Party to finally emerge — i.e. the Tea Party. I’d love to see Jim DeMint, for example, take on Obama and/or the Democrats who succeed him. Or any of the others — Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz.
