One can imagine the scene if in 2004 during the closing of a media segment Chaka Khan had given reporters a “W” bump.

The horrified look of “ew! I just got Rethuglican cooties!” on their faces as they sheepishly realized they’d accidently “W” bumped out of reflex, inertia, and awkward interracial politeness would have been priceless, and well worth the weeks of hand-wringing over the neccessity of maintaining a strict appearance of media impartiality the MSM would have subjected us to in recompense.

There absolutely positively would have been no mask-slipping “Okay!” “Absolutely!” uttered cheerfullly and willingly in the exchange.

(Perhaps the most telling in that clip is this: the thought seems to never have crossed Roberta Flack’s mind that the “reporters” WOULDN”T be perfectly receptive to an Obama bump despite their vaunted impartiality. Flack knew them as the transparent fellow Obamaites they are. And Flack doesn’t seem all that peternaturally perceptive. If a dullard like Flack can see through you…)

Years ago I loved a song by Flack and Donnie Hathaway and bought the album: it had a song on it called “Be Black For Me.” That was a little much and I brought the album back. It’s be different if it was a joke song but it wasn’t and I can’t imagine a white version being seen as anything but a Hitler love song.

I despise Soledad O’Brien who’s been dubbed the “Racist Hunter” in some circles. No surprise she feels such solidarity with unflinching racialists like Flack and Roland Martin, who so often complain that white folks are what in fact they themselves are. In my opinion O’Brien and her stupid takes on Islamophobia should be marginalized into the same ghetto David Duke is.
