“Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) said today that the new Republicans elected to the House of Representatives last November came to Congress ‘to kill women.’ She also likened Republican efforts to prohibit federal funding of abortion except in cases of rape, incest or where the life of the mother is endangered to actions taken by Nazis.”
Because when you think of the Nazis, the phrase that invariably comes to mind is “Pro Life.”
The fact that she is actually a member of our gov’t makes me wonder why we’re not all living in the ruins of our civilization hunting each other with crossbows and torches.
To borrow a phrase from Prof. Reynolds, I don’t want to hear another Goddamned word about my obligation to keep the discourse civil.

Rep Slaughter, why did democrat majority not pass a budget in September 2010, Effective by October 1, 2010, as congress usually does, and when democrat party held a super majority by large enough to pass spending bills as high as you might want?
Could it be that you didn’t want that reckless excessive spending, and the numbers involved to be an election issue, in the off year, congressional election 0f November 2011?
Could it be that democrat party also horrendously miscalculated on this one? You did lose the election didn’t you? And now you must face the will of the electorate.
The latest mindless parroting of the Liberal Playbook by the left’s latest mindless parrot might be amusing, but for the fact that women REALLY stand to lose significant ground on health issues under Obamacare (mammograms, anti-cancer meds, etc). To paraphrase Glenn Reynolds, I don’t want to hear another “gee-dee” word about women suffering under the malfeasance of government until Obamacare is repealed in its entirety.

Although close–I was actually thinking of the parody “Mr. ____ to the Red Courtesy Phone” riffs at the beginning of another big-screen comedy, Airplane.
Was Louise Slaughterhouse in that movie? Because I remember somebody saying something about the “red phone, white phone s**t” being code for somebody wanting someone else to have an abortion.

I believe Rep. Slaughter was trying to imitate the tone and rationality of this scene in the control tower when she made her remarks about the current budget situations and the Republican plan, though the proper reaction would have been that of the passengers on the plane to the hysterical woman a few scenes earlier in the movie.
Sometimes the courtesy phone is red. Sometimes it is blue. Sometimes it is green. Sometimes it is all of them at once. You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane.

Rep. Louise Slaugher’s name is quite apropro for an abortion supporting democRAT. Lots of compassion for her chosen group–not so much for the 40 million murdered babies over the last 40 years. Real respect for life in action.
