“Obama Marks Anniversary of Roe v. Wade:”
President Obama reaffirmed his support for abortion rights on Saturday, the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that established a woman’s right to an abortion.
“I am committed to protecting this constitutional right,” Mr. Obama said in a statement. “I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.”
AdvertisementMr. Obama, the father of two young daughters, called on Americans to “recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”
Mr. Obama said the 1973 Supreme Court ruling “affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.”
I’m not at at all sure that Margaret Sanger would agree with that last sentence, but I suspect the president’s words may come back to haunt the nanny state leader from time to time.

In other news, Leftists denounce unintentional irony as right-wing hate-speech.
The statement “government should not intrude on private family matters” will not hinder Obama’s policies at all.

None of these things is a “private family matter” under the Obama administration. These are just the things which will be mandated, regulated, and determined for your own good and the good af everyone. There is nothing personal or private here at all.
Bravo, sir.
A well regulated militia being essential to a free state, the right of the poeple to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
That is in the constitution.
I’ve read over and over again searching, but I cannot find the word Abortion anywhere in the constitution.
So when he says, “I am committed to protecting this constitutional right,” I keep wondering if it is penciled in on his copy.
Make no mistake, Roe V Wade converted Property Rights into Privacy Rights in order to come up with a convoluted logic to create this fundimental right regarding private family matters.
This is how many of the bullets in Mr. Garland’s list above received support of the courts, culminating with the recent Kelo decision.
Oooooops.
A well regulated militia being essintial to THE SECURITY OF a free state…
