Your Feel Good Election Day Story

“The end of an era: ACORN files Chapter 7 bankruptcy” — written by Bertha Lewis herself:

For over 40 years ACORN has fought the good fight. From a few initial neighborhoods in Little Rock, Arkansas, we grew to become a large, active, national organization of low- and moderate-income families, mostly people of color, working together to make their communities a better place. In working together, we helped families see that they can make a difference.

In the summer of 2008 I became the first new CEO of ACORN in 38 years. We revitalized a board of community leaders, and began the task of strengthening our organization. We instituted new corporate governance and internal controls, and we took the steps to develop proper legal and financial relationships between ACORN and its affiliates. That was no easy task, and we were well on our way to launching a new era for ACORN.

If only those crazy Republican kids with their hidden cameras and Jedi mindtricks hadn’t shown up:

The ongoing political onslaught caused irreparable harm. This effort was a clear attempt to cast a shadow over the historic 2008 Presidential election, and set up a far right counter offense. Through those attacks we re-tooled and re-organized. Then again came the right-wing media blitz. This time of edited videos that misrepresented our mission, and consequently misled the public. The pressure and cost of defending ourselves in multiple investigations as a result of the falsified videos has eroded our organization. As a result we will be filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy by close of business today.

Perfect timing.

I was going to post this as an update to the previous item on ABC and Media Matters’ meltdowns over Andrew Breitbart, but it seemed like this was worth highlighting separately. Reaction from the starboard side of the Blogosphere as it comes in.

    Boo. Hoo.

Keep your eye peeled for when they magically re-emerge as CLOWNS (Communities Legal Organization Wanting New Socialism.)

I love the smell of left-wing pressure groups going bust in the morning. Smells like…victory.

But seriously, the idea that these foul, Alinskyite weevils infesting the body politic just get to fold up their tent and schlep out of town without at least a tithe of them doing hard, Federal time leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. ACORN and its corporate officers have been guilty of serious malfeasance, and I reject the idea that this is a case of, “no harm, no foul.” I’d have Bertha Lewis in the graybar hotel by sundown, given my druthers.

Leftists tend to rinse and repeat when exposed. Stay tuned.

Tears of sorrow are welling up in my eyes for our ACORN brethren. Just means we uncover these vermin starting again tomorrow to dispatch with them from whatever snake hole they slither from. We will remain vigilant and we will hammer them from now on where ever they are.

The reason they went bankrupt is because they lost their government funding…. Odd how the Democratically controlled congress was funding an organization that only benefited them, wasn’t it? Must have been an accident.

Oh, but doesn’t this quote say everything?

“we took the steps to develop proper legal and financial relationships between ACORN and its affiliates. That was no easy task…

Nothing like admitting that there previously had been NO proper legal or financial relations, eh?
