Heading Towards The Carter Zone

April 2, 2010 - 1:03 pm - by Ed Driscoll

Leon de Winter writes, “Obama Is Now Showing His True Colors as a Radical.” Not coincidentally, the American public knows it, as Stacy McCain notes:

He’s heading toward the dreaded Carter Zone:

President Obama’s overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bill’s passage in the House of Representatives. It’s down 24 points since his all-time high last April. Forty-one percent of those polled said they disapproved of the president’s performance.

And on the way to the Carter Zone? Our long national Groundhog Day.

Obozo doesn’t care so long as he has his babbling base of sycophants to ease his neurotic ego. Scary.

Some of us saw his radicalism long before the presidential election. This is something I found earlier this evening by pure happenstance:

“Right. Your feelings are your truth.”

This is why I describe Barack “Barry” Obama as our first major postmodernist presidential candidate. He is attracting people who don’t really give a damn about the issues. They simply “believe in change.” We are living in very dangerous times. Obama is essentially running something of a fascist campaign. The emphasis is on trusting the Anointed One. Faith is required. Rational thought is pushed to the side.

There’s clearly some kind of panic going on because my otherwise generally apolitical but reflexively leftist friends (urban, ‘sophisticated’ ‘artiste’ etc.) have been bombarding me with talking points the last couple of days, including the tea party misspelling flicker page, the ‘Frum-fired’ cause celebre, and all the rest. I didn’t hear a peep from them when the health care bill was being debated. Clearly they’ve been ‘activated’, like hipster sleeper cells, courtesy of the usual suspects (NPR, MSM, New Yorker, etc. etc.). Makes me thing something is really happening, and the Cone of Carter really is descending on The One, with all the attendant panic from sophomores and 40 year old sophomores. But there’s still seven months ’til November. Anything can happen. Liberty-leaning small-government conservatives (aka the vast majority of America) still has plenty of time to forget all about everything that happened this winter.

Its hard to believe that we have another Jimmy Carter doppelganger in the White House, maybe the countries luck is running out; another Carter in less than 100 years is a bad sign. This Jimmy seems a more malevolent and totalitarian, he’s edgy like he really wants to do something but he knows he couldn’t get away with right now but he’s getting his hand puppets in Congress ready to drink the Koolaid for something big. He’s taught them how to vote while licking the soles of his shoes and with out reading the bill, no President has ever accomplished this hand puppet trick. Carter was just stupid but there is something else about Obama that reminds me of 1933.

At this point the only thing that can save The One is a world war.

This is much worse. Carter was bad, but not sinister like Obama. And Carter seemed to have a little integrity even though he was nuts. Obama blatantly lies every time he speaks.

Y, I agree. I (along with thousands of others) predicted the return of President Peanut in 2008 but Obabbler has shown himself quite a bit worse. Whereas Jimmy micromanaged everything, President Pampers shows no interest in much of anything, preferring to farm it out to an assortment of idiots. Jimmy had a superficial, santimonious graciousness; this jerk is a Chicago thug.

During the election, I often referred to Mr. Obama as

    … CARTER 2.0 …

    America … don’t say we didn’t warn you …

Hiring Strike (only hire where necessary).

May I add something else to that. If you must hire someone, there is usually some sort of background check of references, etc. Add to that a check of voter registration. I see no reason for a supporter of Liberty under the Constitution to pay wages to someone who is registered as a Democrat and therefore is opposed to both Liberty and the Constitution. Yeah, it is a broad brush, but it is only fitting that their party members also suffer for what their party has done to the rest of us in the country.

    RE: Maimonatease @ April 2, 2010 – 11:02 pm

Clearly they’ve been ‘activated’, like hipster sleeper cells, courtesy of the usual suspects (NPR, MSM, New Yorker, etc. etc.).

They have. Also note the increase in political spam out there. Most of it is orchestrated by Obama’s Agitp-Prop arm OFA.

Carter was/is a mushy headed weakling who had no program except to try to “love” our country’s enemies. Obama is hard-headed and is dedicated. He is also one of the country’s enemies.
