Keith Olbermann loses it tonight, even more so than usual:

In Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees.”

Of course, the latter half of Olbermann’s argument would make Brown perfectly qualified to be his successor on MSNBC, should he come up short tomorrow.

Update: Former Republican congressman turned MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough can’t decide where his politics place him on the ideological spectrum these days (there’s a lot of that going around the halls of NBC), but at least he knows that he disapproves his colleague’s disgusting statement:

Obermann calls Brown a “homophobic racist reactionary” who “supports violence against women.” How reckless and how sad.

Indeed.™

Update: Welcome Cornerites! In a related post, “Paco”, the long time Tim Blair commenter spots the very worst job in the world.

(Does the person’s who’s stuck with it ever brush off thoughts of quitting with that old rejoinder, “What, and give up show business?!”)

Update: Michelle Malkin adds, “Clown who called me ‘big mashed up bag of meat with lipstick’ says Scott Brown hates women.”

If you make it to the last two paragraphs of James W. Ceaser’s lengthy (by Web-standards) but must-read piece at the Weekly Standard, “The Roots of Obama Worship”, you’ll understand better why Olbermann thinks he can use such language.

Beyond the fact that he’s a misogynist misanthropic jerk, of course.

Given his status as the most hated Yankees fan in America (now that George S. in into his dotage), I’m surprised Olbermann didn’t toss out a few barbs about Curt Shilling’s bloody sock being a fake, and that’s the kind of evil liar who supports Scott Brown.

  2. MSNBC: The corporate triple AAA farm club where NBC trains its management team on how to take a 3rd place network and make it into a 4th place joke.

How is the word “teabagger” any different than calling someone a ‘c*nt”? Yet TV anchors and our elected officials – including the juvenile activist President himself – feel comfortable slinging that epithet. It is hate speech, pure and simple, and if it was a conservative pulling that sh-t they would be out of a job before the words left their mouths.

It is time for Olberman to go. And any elected official who does this, must be voted out of office. It’s disrespectful, it is despicable.

(Why do I feel I have to apologize for foul language, but Olberman feels perfectly comfortable and safe doing this?)

Joe Scarborough is a sissy boy, Olbermann however is just nuts. You have to have alot of hate in yourself to enjoy listening to him.

Funny what guys will come out with when they’re really scared, eh?

  6. No, calling a man a “teabagger” is most equivalent to calling a woman a “rug-muncher.” Not that that’s acceptable, either, even if you find some Code Pinker at an anti-war rally carrying a “rug-munchers for peace” sign.

This tea-bagger thing is out of control.
It’s a sexual slur ( and a false one- the tea-party movement is not about sexual practices). But actually it hurts the
sneerers more than it hurts their targets.

Katrina Vanden Huevel of the NATION, for instance, was using it every other sentence when she appeared on ABC’s THIS WEEK, Sunday morning. She did not appear to be superior or intimidating. Just an overgrown spoiled brat.
I understood Shari’a law at last. There are just some people who need a good sound flogging.

See you at the Homophobic Nude Teabaggers Pride parade.

Somehow the rhetoric from the left, perhaps driven by sheer desperation, is far more hateful than anything ever said by Beck, Hannity, even Limbaugh.
You know you have won when the other side resorts to calling you names, especially vicious ones. It is the last redoubt of the sophist.

I wonder how the electorate of Massachusetts feels about having all the usual flyover slurs hurled their way? I didn’t think it was doing the dems any good when actually directed at us in flyover country, but how can it help them to alienate Massachusetts?

“…supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees.”

In other words, and in Olbermann’s twisted world view, Scott Brown has some nerve exercising his right to run against a Democratic politician. Next thing you know, they’ll be wanting to let the voters decide for themselves who they want to vote for.

  12. This Old Timey south side Chicago Mick Democrat is always enchanted by the high jinx of the MSNBC ( The Tool Shed) mensa members. The Oil Can Harry Suited Tubby Olbermann is always sure to lend a giggle.
