Most politicians can lie to some of the people all of the time or all of the people some of the time. But only, a Messiah can lie to all of the people all of the time!
So what? Are you saying Obama isn’t God?? Wow, what a buncha racists!
No nadadhimmi, we are saying obama is a serial liar.
“So what? Are you saying Obama isn’t God?? Wow, what a buncha racists!”
What is being said is that Obama needs to be held accountable for his shift of position. Where is the racism?
Some are missing that nadadhimmi’s comment is meant sarcastically.
Dave B, whosebone, lighten up. I believe nadahimmi is being sacarstic.
“nada” “dhimmi”
Obama is certainly Zeus of Lies presiding over the Capital Hill of Liars. That is why he lies better than the Lying King. (For those who forgot: the Lying King is the husband of the current Secretary of State.)
Under Clinton Bush, Americans got so sick and tired of hearing eight years of lies from Clintonites and then eight more years (for sixteen, now seventeen years) lies about Bush’s lying that now –come Hope & Change –one big-ass change is that lying just doesn’t seem to much matter anymore.
“Jaw-dropping” means a big yawn is in progress.
Damn shame –so hard it is to maintain a moral universe where it is understood why it is important to the human species that words have objective meanings, and –woops — along come a couple of charming-rogue leaders of the free world and we wake up one morning and (*pffft*) the Ten Commandments, the JudaoChristian Tradition, and the U.S. Constitution have been auctioned off in the night, traded for a baitbucketful of smirks and eye rolls.
And everywhere, from every ledger to every foreign shore, the consequences pile high and higher (have been since baleful November 2006) as wink wink the bright leitmotif fades sullen and enervated to dirge, promising a crescendo anything but what we had wished & hoped when we rubbed the lamp and out wisped the smiling genii.
The soft bigotry of low expectations. The “believers” expect him to have done drugs, expect him to lie. That is not a racist statement. Those who will not hold him accountable are the racists.
Holding Obama accountable for what he says and does is racist and a distraction. How dare you! Have you no shame?
You are just raising the bar. And being mean.
OK, after having lived through the Clinton parsing years – I can see the excuse of ‘he didn’t say he wouldn’t tax cadillac plans, he just said his opponent would.’ He gave himself wiggle-room in the rhetoric. They assume that they aren’t lying if they omit their true meaning/intent……And they wonder why we don’t trust them anymore.
The favorite song of the 0bama White House is by Foreigner:
“That was yesterday”.
3.2 Trillion ? Hmmm.
“You lie.”
When O says “as I’ve always said” he is changing from a former position to the new one. This is nothing but 1984 NEWSPEAK. We’ve always been at war with EASTASIA.
Is it beginning to be obvious that this guy is truly an empty suit?
Does he have ANY core beliefs? It’s as though the media made Tiger Woods president (at least before his current problems). Obama’s background is unknown…we don’t know about his early life in Indonesia or Hawaii. The media has done a terrible job (purposefully, I believe) in showing the voters who this guy is/was.
While I don’t doubt he was born in Hawaii…just why can’t his long form birth certificate be released? What’s crazy about asking for it? How did he get into Harvard? What were his SAT scores? How did he get into Columbia? He says he took “every drug I could” while at Moringside Hts…yet the media is uninterested in this part of his life. How did he get into Harvard Law? What were his LSATs?
Why did he vote “present” over a hundred times in the Illinois State Senate? Why are our media SO uninterested in any of this? Fact is…the MSM went through George Bush’s life with a fine toothed comb…to a point where they couldn’t find anything until Dan Rather and CBS used forged documents to try and sink him. How come everybody is so skittish about Obama’s past?
I’ve never seen a Hawaiian birth certificate. Is there a section for declaration of religion? Maybe a Hawaiian reader could post an example.
I enjoy reading this column but there is one thing I will not do is watch a video of Obama speaking. I spent the last two years putting this narcissist in love with his own voice on mute, and relying on text to keep up with what was said. I didn’t last two seconds here and there’s no text so I have no idea as to the exact point being made. It’s something to do with a flip. I realize you know his own words to be the most damaging but they’re not damaging at all to a man who’s not listening. I’ll just have to hold forth and be satisfied to miss this one.
Guessing at the lobster was more interesting.
“While I don’t doubt he was born in Hawaii…just why can’t his long form birth certificate be released?”
The odds are overwhelmingly high that Barack Obama was born in the United States. His parents simply did have the money to pay for round trip tickets to Kenya. Only the wealthy could behave in such a matter in 1961. On top of that, what woman would travel to that part of Africa during the last months of her pregnancy? I suspect, however, that there is something embarrassing on the birth certificate. Was Barack, Sr. his father? Could it have been another man? Whatever, it’s none of our business.
Barry-boy is just a professional talker – nothing more. And his naivete, his weakening of our defenses, his pandering to Islam, is gonna get thousands of Americans killed here at home.
This Kenyan has got to be de-elected ASAP.
Employees wrongly see the “employer paid” part of health insurance as a gift, instead of rightly seeing it as part of their earnings (part of what they could control). Somehow, insurance benefits are just a gift that “good” employers provide. They want more insurance, but they don’t want less pay.
An employee earns his insurance benefits as part of his true salary. The company sees the cost of health insurance as the cost of having an employee. Competition for jobs is a competition to pay employees for their productivity. If the cost of health insurance disappeared from company responsibility, salaries would rise in competition to capture that decreased cost as an increase in salary.
That is the big factor that distorts the discussion about personal health insurance. The public assumes that purchasing their own insurance would come out of their current salary. In fact, salaries would rise in the amount that companies currently pay for health insurance, giving employees what they need to buy the insurance personally. Except for taxes.
When companies pay $13,000 (per year) for an employee’s family health insurance, it is a usual expense to the company, and it is not taxed as income to the employee. It is deducted from earnings “before tax”.
McCain’s Health Proposal is Misunderstood
When an individual buys health insurance personally, he is not given a tax deduction, and the insurance cost is paid out of net income after tax. That is a large difference. That $13,000 policy paid by the company out of gross (pre-tax) income, would cost the individual $17,333, that is $4,333 (1/3rd) more in pre-tax income if the individual is in the 25% tax bracket.
By the way, the McCain health insurance proposal was badly explained, and misunderstood. McCain proposed giving a $5,000 tax credit to cover the tax incurred on health insurance purchased by individuals. This would have made the typical $13,000 family policy tax-free when purchased directly.
Sorry about the runaway bold’ing above.
